Now the previous evening, my husband contacted a large local competitor to check our HVAC system. Technician from local competitor came out and looked out HVAC system, didn't test any components and stated "our compressor was locked & leaking refrigerant and quoted my husband $6k to replace it or we can purchase a brand new HVAC system for $25k!!!" (NOT TRUE!!!). The tech even left our outside power switch unplugged so we couldn't test the system!! SMH!!! We won't contact them for any service ever again nor recommend them to any neighbors, friends and family!!! Joe K, Service Technician at HVAC Direct Heating & Cooling contacted my husband within 20 minutes of him contacting the office the next business day and scheduled a visit that evening. He came out to the house, checked the compressor and quickly diagnosed the capacitor as the problem & replaced it. One time "John" answered and I told him I was interested in an HVAC maintenance and service contract. He rattled off some numbers and promised to email them to me that night. Never got anything. I then called that number over and over, leaving messages that again were never returned. Finally, a woman answered and explained that she was in a front office and could give me no info (??) about service contracts, but she said if I called 800-921-0392 an answering service would take a message and forward to someone who would call back. She also promised me that John would send me the promised info that day. Not. So I called the 800 number and left a message for someone to please call me. Nothing. I give up. Too many other HVAC companies that care. I wonder how if they respond to customers needing emergency service.
