Our child Izzy (2 1/2 year old girl) has been going here for about 2 months. In that short time,…read morewe're so extremely happy, but more importantly, so is she. Picking a daycare for your precious child is so difficult. Who can you possibly trust? We visited a handful of daycares, and some brought me to tears, thinking "How could I ever send my kid to a place like this?" Ms Avelina has been the blessing we needed. Yes, our child cried at the drop offs for the first few days. We all expected this. Ms Avelina comforted and welcomed her. Now? Izzy runs to the car in the morning and doesn't want to leave half the time. What I like most is the teaching style. She is firm and kind - teaching independence and not "babying" our child. Ms Avelina proves that she is invested in Izzy's wellbeing, and it's clear she adheres to all the state and licensing guidelines to the letter. The proof is there for us to see- Izzy is glowing when she comes home. She's learning things every day. She has a new confidence in herself. Overall she's transforming from a little toddler to a child. You can imagine how bittersweet. Instead of feeling guilty leaving my kid with someone else, I feel proud and happy to send her someone that is truly caring for her and helping her grow. This is the ideal environment for our family for preschool and daycare. Should anything change, I will update my review because I know how important it is to find the right place.

I can't begin to express how thankful I am to Avelina and Gilberto for the amazing care they provided. I always respected their professionalism while at the same time provide a loving, safe and clean environment. They really set the bar high for quality childcare. My kids learned so much from them and throughout the years so have I (especially when I was a first time parent). When my kids would come home I was always surprised and pleased with how much they were learning. They were both prepared when they started school. I highly recommend A Teddy Bears Learning Childcare and Preschool.

My child has gone here for over a year and a half since they were just over 3 months old. The care…read moreprovided for my child has been nothing short of amazing. I had no issues with military subsidy, they were quick to handle any paperwork, and the only delay was on the governmental side. At one point the subsidy was over 4 months delayed due to the government program being backlogged, when everything was finalized they credited my account with the full back pay. They went above and beyond when they noticed the subsidy program had used an incorrect rate and discounted my cost to make up for that difference. The value provided is second to none, they provide diapers, wipes and food for the infants and toddlers, we breast fed so I'm not sure about formula. The fact that we have gone almost a year and a half only needing to purchase diapers for our home use has been a huge financial bonus to us. Education wise my child has learned multiple signs, several words, dances to songs, and made so many friends. The staff are so friendly and attentive, and practically over communicators when it comes to things going on at the childcare facility or if our child bumps his head or gets a scrape or anything like that. They also use an app to send updates throughout the day, and pictures and videos of your child so you can see what they have been up to. The app also is used for diaper change tracking, naps and food. I cannot overstate how amazing this facility is, they do everything they can to help, they were providing food and necessities to families of the children there that were in need during the government shutdown this past fall, and they treat every child like family. The facility is clean, the food prep area has an A from the health inspector, and somehow they get my picky eater to try all kinds of stuff. If I could give them 10 stars I would, this is a fantastic childcare facility and the best part is the staff.

To clarify, this situation did not happen out of nowhere. I have never yelled at the teachers. The…read morebehavior I displayed was in response to repeated rude and unprofessional treatment from staff. It began when a front desk representative was rude to me over a $10 balance, despite my having seen other parents with higher balances. When I addressed her behavior, Teresa became rude and told me to remove my daughter. At no point have they taken accountability for how they have treated me. I generally keep to myself, greet everyone, drop off my daughter, and leave. Yet, I have repeatedly experienced unnecessary hostility. As recently as today, I was talked over and had calls disconnected while trying to address my concerns. When people are repeatedly treated with disrespect, frustration is a natural response. That does not excuse anyone's behavior, but it also does not justify ignoring what provoked the situation in the first place. I expect professionalism, respect, and accountability from everyone involved, especially in a childcare environment. Update: WhizKids allowed me to drop off my daughter this morning, then informed me she could no longer attend before- and after-school care and that I would be charged $5 per minute--after I had already arrived at work. Teresa also hung up on me three times and blocked my number. When I arrived to pick up my daughter, she was conveniently present, and given our prior interactions, I felt uncomfortable and threatened. The front desk representative that started this also followed me, when after I told her to leave me alone and not to speak to me. This lack of communication, professionalism, and consideration for working parents is unacceptable. Families deserve transparency, respect, and fair treatment--not last-minute surprises and unnecessary stress. And just to update I have removed my daughter from this place. Thank God!!

I am a social worker and hear horror stories about daycare all the time. When I realized I…read morewouldn't be able to afford to stay home with my first baby, a little girl, I was really sad but really set on finding an appropriate affordable and loving daycare. It was important to me to find a space where my child would not only be looked after but would be cared about and loved in an environment that most closely replicated her home. When I was looking for daycare's I went to a number of chain day cares where the babies were all in one room all the time the lights were bright whether they were supposed playing or sleeping. I didn't feel like in that type of environment my baby would get the individualized care that I wanted her to have if she couldn't be home with me. Vanessa, her mom and her assistant are all truly loving people. My daughter is happy and excited to see Vanessa every morning she laughs and plays with her and Vanessa gives her lots of kisses, I truly think she loves her like she would love one of her own children. As a first-time mom and mom to a preemie baby I couldn't recommend her more highly. While her hours don't accommodate a regular eight hour work day if you have only one parent doing pick up and drop off they seem to work really well when the hours are split between two parents one doing pick up and another drop off. I'm lucky to have an amended schedule so I get to both pick my daughter up and drop her off every day. I am a non-dairy eating vegetarian and want to raise my baby the same way Vanessa is respectful of that and makes sure only to feed her what I provide her in conjunction with the breastmilk that I provide. I have heard of daycare not being willing to feed babies breastmilk because it's more difficult to keep and store it than powdered formula; Vanessa is not one of those people. As far as I know all of the babies currently in her care are breast-fed and they're all very happy healthy and thriving. When I drop my daughter off in the morning the other kids know who I am and they greet me and help me at the door if they're happy to see my baby and play with her when we put her down. When I arrive during naptime in the afternoon all of the kids are sleeping peacefully in their own beds and the babies are playing quietly in their own designated place space. If you're looking for a daycare that will nurture your child and love them this is the right place for you. I dread the day that we decided to leave the area that she's in because I know I can't take her with me and I want my daughter to be with her for as long as possible. My biggest piece of advice would be to know what you're getting into when you decide to go with a daycare that is a licensed in-home this is not a person that has additional back up people to cover days off for different schedules so when Vanessa or her staff need to take a break that means that daycare is closed as long as you're OK with that you're going to be very happy making a decision to put your child with little blessings daycare.
