Maple bear is a great school with a structured curriculum and educated full time staff. They are wonderful. They require all students to wear a maple bear T-shirt which is great, makes getting ready easy and provides extra layer of consistency. They communicate daily and my son binds so well with the teachers. They only employ full time teachers so that students have the same adults all day. They don't shuffle around to maximize ratios. We started our first son at a DIFFERENT daycare and ended up withdrawing him a week later because we weren't comfortable. We tried Maple Bear and have been super happy ever since! We also now have our second child there as well. Along with their cousin. Lori has been great to work with. Our first started in infant with Betty and Darla. Both are great. The 1st then moved to Darla's and now our 2nd is in Darla's class too. Ever since our walkthrough talking to her we've always felt comfortable. She's gotten our sons outfits for holidays before (too kind). Is great communicating with us, which is key for infant stage. You can really tell how much she loves her kiddos. Then for 1-2 year olds we had Adela for a bit who was great! And primary had Destiny and Itzel who were amazing. Our son had trouble at drop off and they were so helpful. We brought in our own food for our son and they made it work everyday making him feel included. As your kid starts to miss parents in this age range, I couldn't think of two better people to leave him with! We even had Destiny babysit. We are looking forward to our 2nd getting to spend time with them. Then now in 2-3 year olds, Ms Gracie, Ms Kelsey and Ms Sarah are all great. They really help develop the kids. He can count in Spanish, wear underwear, and much more in large part due to these great teachers. They are always positive and we're so lucky these formidable years are spent with people that care so much. Maple Bear has been such an amazing experience for our family! Our son started after turning 1 and we were nervous about how well he would adapt, and nervous about daycare in general. From the very beginning Lori & Maureen were informative and comforting, giving us all information to set us and our son up for a successful transition. The staff is so kind & caring and a special shout-out to Miss Adela who has really gone above & beyond, especially in the first week to ease a nervous mommy! Our kiddo just loves her! At Maple Bear the classrooms are smaller ratios, there are curriculums to help the kids learn & develop, there are routines, everything is immaculately clean, the security is excellent, and the staff truly cares. Are there cheaper day cares out there? Sure. But we looked at some of those cheaper facilities & they don't even compare to Maple Bear, nor were we comfortable leaving our son. I heard of Maple Bear from a friend and am eternally grateful for her sending me this way. As a first time mom and with no local family, it was hard to find a place that I felt comfortable leaving my baby. My daughter has been there since she was 3 months old and has since moved from the infant room to the 1's class. She's thriving, is well taken care of, and her teachers have truly become part of our Arizona family. They have all taken the time to get to know my daughter and her personality and habits, which really shows they care! The staff is warm, welcoming and professional. They have lots of experience, which gives me reassurance that my daughter is in great hands. I often have questions and concerns and they are always helpful with information, reassurance, or solutions. The facility is clean, secure, and my daughter loves going there. They have an app that lets me track her daily activities- which, as an infant were sleeping, bathroom, and eating habits- surprisingly important for a new mom who is trying to learn about how to take care of this tiny person. Imagine my surprise when she transitioned to the 1's class and they had all sorts of activities listed throughout the day! An updated review after our daughter has been here 7 months. When we first enrolled her she was 10 months, she is now almost a 1 1/2. People are constantly saying how smart she is. She is so good with her sight words, knows how to sign for more and all done, can tell us no and yes, sings songs, points to objects when we ask her "where is the truck" "point to the color blue", she can make animal sounds and eats her whole meal with a spoon. I hesitated posting this for a couple months...but based on the high ratings I think it's the right thing to do to make parents aware of our experience at Maple Bear. My daughter was enrolled in the infant program at 9 weeks old. We ended up withdrawing her from the school after a very serious incident. I was sent a photo of her FACE DOWN on the floor (at 7 month old, not crawling yet) "asleep." Note: on her face, luckily her hand was under to give her some air. I was mortified to see a photo like this, with the assumption from them I would I find it cute. I immediately called, and it being end of day didn't get ahold of the director Lori or Belinda until the next am. I came in to see Lori (who told us in the beginning she has no interest in being the director and was kind of forced into the position, I should have saw that red flag). We discussed the photo and she did everything in her power to make me seem like it's perfectly normal for a baby to sleep on their face, she had air, etc...all these excuses. Told me my expectations were unreasonable!!! They had film of the classroom. I couldn't fathom watching, so my husband did. 10 long minutes my sweet baby and two other babies were left unattended while the teacher was in a separate area never looking at them. 3 minutes into the video my baby fell forward on her face and kicked her legs and looked to be screaming until she finally stopped moving and fell asleep and was LEFT THIS WAY UNATTENDED (not even looked at) for 7 minutes!!!! The teacher grabbed her phone, took the pic THEN finally 7 minutes later got her. LUCKILY my baby had her hand under her face to allow for air. She's not a tummy sleeper. This was horrific!!! I immediately withdrew her from Maple Bear! It took me some calling around but I finally reached the Maple Bear corporate office. They apologized profusely and assured me for the sake of other parents and children they would implement a training program. I hope they have kept their word and others haven't had anything happen to their child. I will say the lady at corporate was wonderful. I would NEVER trust this place or the staff at Maple Bear based off my traumatic experience and more importantly the way it was handled and how the staff treated me after the incident. We are just lucky and thankful our baby wasn't harmed. read more

Maple Bear Tempe is the best! We have been taking our son to Maple Bear since he was three months old and he's now in the preschool classroom. From the moment we interviewed the center, we knew it would be a good fit. Maple Bear is clean, maintained, and well-kept. I am a first time mom and all of the teachers have always been so helpful and made me feel at ease. The directors and teachers really care about the kids and we trust that our son is safe every day. Update - we just graduated rooms to the 1 year old room. We love his new teachers and they do so many activities! I currently bring my son 3 days a week and sometimes wish he was there 5 days a week because it feels like he is missing out on the fun! He's developing really fast. Also, a friend of mine switched her son to Maple Bear from another daycare. She said her kid is learning much more/faster at Maple Bear than his previous daycare, so it is nice to have the perspective of a friend with experience at another daycare (and they were happy there, too, just didn't know what they were missing)! read more

Our twin girls have been at Maple Bear for over a year (now 2.5 years old) and we are so happy we switched. The director, Lori, and assistant director, Belinda, both clearly care deeply about their staff and the quality of care provided to the children under their watch. They have wonderful attitudes and show tremendous dedication. I have been particularly impressed with how well Lori has navigated the pandemic and the inevitable turnovers and staffing shortages. Maple Bear has the best staff and retention of staff of any daycare and preschool you will find! Both of my girls have attended there from age 1-4. Their attention to their learning and focus on strong values makes the difference! I strongly believe retention of staff show how facilities are really ran and care they will show your child, and this place has it figured out! My oldest was taught by the same teacher my youngest has 4 years later. The Director and staff treat you like family and is there to help problem solve and support your child's best interest! We enrolled our daughter and ever since then her learning has grown a ton. Darla made the initial drop off easy. Our daughter loves darla even after moving on classes. At first, I thought the price was a little high And decided to go with another daycare. After a horrific experience with the other daycare regarding my son after just two days I withdrew him and called Maple bear. I LOVE Maple Bear. The staff are all amazing and their communication is on point. The security measures they have in place are fantastic. His first day my app for the site wasn't working yet, so the girls watching him sent me photos just a few minutes after leaving to reassure me he was doing well and stopped crying from me leaving him. A few more throughout the day to show me how much fun he was having. Their app you can use to communicate with the girls watching your child is amazing. They'll upload pictures, update his activities throughout the day. See what he ate, how long he napped. The type of learning for that day. Leaving your child in the care of another is always a difficult decision to make. Even more difficult to actually experience it day in and day out. However, when I leave him with these ladies I know he is in great hands. I'm not at work feeling bad or stressed out because he hates where he's at. He no longer cries at drop off, he's comfortable being around other children and he's actually happy when I pick him up. Not stressed out and crying to go home. Moral of this story, you pay for what you get. I went for the cheaper daycare and got less than stellar care for my child. Switching to Maple Bear was definitely worth it to me. My son has been been coming here since he was 2. This is going to be our last year since he starts Kinder next year and Maple Bear has been nothing short of amazing! My son always comes home with tons of artwork and tells me about the things he has learned. He's even schooled me a few times! We have enjoyed all of his teachers and the directors. I researched child care centers for almost a year. I gave up looking because of all the centers I didn't trust putting my children there. (I'm super crazy picky!) so we did in-homecare until recently, when it was no longer an option for us. In my search I stumbled apon Maple Bear - or as my two year old calls it, teddy bear school! We have been with Maple Bear for almost 1yr. They started taking care of our son when he was 16months. Our son has grown socially, skillfully and developmentally from their teaching curriculum. We often discussed that his increasing mental awareness and attention to his surroundings have everything to do with being cared for there. Love this place. We put our oldest in when she was 2 right when they first opened and have been with them ever since. Our oldest has since gone on to school, but we still have our youngest there since she was born. The staff care about each individual child so much that sometimes it feels like you're the only family there. They have always looked out for our family, and have helped us in so many ways. Lori is kind and caring, and you can see the drive she has for this place's success. Our girls loooooove going here. The constant theme between both of our girls has been how much they have loved every teacher they've had as they moved through the age appropriate classrooms. They are always excited to go, and sometimes bummed to leave for the day. They always have fun activities, and well throughout lesson plans, so I know and can see how beneficial it's been for their development. The food is good, and the communication system is very nice. Each day when we check her out we get a detailed report of the day from nap times, how long they napped (or didn't nap in our case ), what they ate and how much, and when they are younger, diaper/potty reports. The safety of the building is reassuring. There is a code needed to get into the main door from the outside into the little lobby, then a fingerprint check in/out system to unlock the lobby door into where the classrooms are. High walls surround the outside play area. The play area is always shaded, but they are very good about staying inside when it's too hot, but still making it fun! Maple bear has been a wonderful experience for our family and I would absolutely recommend it to anybody! read more

The decision to move our daughters to Maple Bear was not an easy one as we were very fond of the at-home daycare that they had previously been attending. However, after weighing out the pros and cons, particularly around the logistics of pickups and drop-offs, we made the switch. My youngest was close to 2 and my oldest was around 3 years old at the time, and they have been there ever since. My oldest will now be turning 6 and will move on to 1st grade in the coming months. I can whole heartedly say that we have absolutely no regrets in our decision, and have had a truly great experience at Maple Bear Tempe. My daughters are happy, they love their teachers, and have blossomed within their curriculum. Furthermore, in what was a very difficult and challenging year for everyone, particularly with public schools closing, Maple Bear adapted effectively and efficiently. In following the CDC and state guidelines, they were able to implement the necessary precautionary and sanitary procedures to remain open. Additionally, they extended their program to the Kindergarten level so our daughter could continue learning in-person. We are truly grateful and would recommend Maple Bear to any parents that are considering having their children attend. read more

Nice layout Bad customer service. I was really upset at this daycare. I had a problem with one of the teachers. Her name was Eliana. I did not trust her at all. I caught her lying on her Paper log for my son's progress Report. She lied about changing my sons pamper when the indicator on the pamper was gone. That means he was sitting in it for a while. I said something and the next day the director stops me in the hallway to talk about the situation. Very unprofessional Plus her attitude was really uncanny. She told me that I can just ask them to change his pamper and that was her solution to the problem. My problem was that she lied about it and my son was sitting in a pissy diaper. I told the director that's not the point. I drive all this way just so my son can have the proper daycare and he's not getting treated very well. ******** I was pissed***** The teachers name is Eliana, she don't ever say good morning to the children or parents she is very disrespectful and rude. She's one of those people that brings her problems to work. So I gave it a little more time and I love my son there for six hours. Came back she only gave him one bottle. The next day I found on my son lost weight... please people telling me that happens when a kid comes in to a new daycare.. bullshit ! Don't give me wrong they have a few nice people there but if I'm having a problem with somebody you're supposed to be on ass. Making sure she actually do wanna job making sure she is making me a happy customer. Instead I got attitude every time I was around her. I took my son out the hell with them .. if I have a problem handle it. The way they with handling the situation I feel like I was dealing with immature people. Never again .... Top notch care my ass! We are so happy to have found Maple Bear, and now both of our kids currently go there. Our daughter started in the infant room and is now in the 2's. Darla in the infant room made our first daycare experience such a wonderful one. Our son in now in her room and we are thankful she is also caring for him. Jasmine is new to us but has been equally friendly in caring for our son. Outside of my parents, Darla is the only person we have ever trusted to leave our kids with. She cares for the kids like they are her own and is very communicative about their day. Both our kids have great drop offs in the morning, which is such a great feeling as a parent. Our daughter has had an equally wonderful experience in the 1's (with Adela, Destiney and Itzel) and now the 2's room (with Gracie, Kelsey and Sarah). All of the ladies have cared for her, worked to get to know her in order to meet her individual needs, and always communicate about her day. It's a big peace of mind, as a parent, having such positive relationships with their caretakers. We are happy our son will get to be in these rooms as well, and feel confident both will continue to have wonderful experiences as they grow and move through the rooms there. We could not be happier with this school! Our daughter has been attending Maple Bear for a few months now and it's been amazing. We love both her teachers, (Tatiana and Nickie) and our daughter loves them too! They teach her to be independent which is something we did at home as well, so right away it was a good mesh. My daughter has been attending Maple Bear for nearly two years now since she was one. My wife and I visited around 15 centers and had nearly given up finding a center we felt fully confident in until we found Maple Bear. After our initial visit I know this would be the right place. Management is professional and organized, the center itself is very clean. The providers there are engaged with the kids and parents and communicate often. I knew the center was a good one when our child would mention on weekends if she could go to school for the day - or were not fun parents :). Considering that child to provider ratio is better than AZ requirements, the price is more than fair. The only other center that we found with equivalent ratios is Bright Horizons, which we did take our daughter to for awhile. When you compare fees between the two, Maple Bear is a far better value. You pay less without giving up the most important attribute of a daycare - consistent, safe and engaged quality care for the kids. The physical layout of the center has a large indoor play area when necessary but it's a smaller center than other daycares which allows the center from not having too many kids. The outdoor play area is split into two, one for the younger kids and the other for older. I do like that the location of the Center is a bit remote off to the side as it keeps cross traffic to a minimum and keeps things quiet. Cons - only one, parking lot directly across the center is a bit small and it can fill up during peak times. However, it's not like you have to sit in your car for 5 minutes for a space. There's plenty of parking just to the north of the center and the walk isn't far by any means. I fully recommend Maple Bear and would suggest anyone in need of daycare to pay them a visit. read more

Finding Maple Bear was finding peace to go back to work. My husband and I moved here from out of state and needed to find a place we could trust and felt comfortable leaving our 12-week-old while we both worked 8-5 jobs. We tried another day care that did not work out and resulted in me calling Maple Bear sobbing. Lori answered the phone and heard my literal cries. Lori and Maureen made magic happen and were able to take us and I've been so thankful since. Maple Bear is exactly where you want your child to be. The warmth we've received from Lori, Maureen and all the infant teachers puts my heart at peace being away from our baby. From the level of security to get into the facility, the app on my phone that gets pictures, feeding updates, diaper changes, and nap times to the smiling pictures of him on the bins containing his things I know he is being well taken care of. I love the care my son is receiving and the effort that is taken to make sure my husband and I feel comfortable. I love that when I pick him up, he is smiling at his teachers and they tell me about his day. I love that his teachers communicate with me throughout the day. I cannot thank them enough for being an extended family while we are away from our own. read more

Maple Bear is a fantastic daycare. We had our son there as an infant and then returned a few years later to have our son and daughter in the Pre-school and Pre-K programs after we became frustrated with our employer-sponsored childcare due to constant turnover. The 3-1 infant ratio is fantastic and the Pre-K teachers run the program like a Kindergarten. My daughter has seamlessly transitioned to Kindergarten and I have no doubt my son will next year. The Spanish program has been a big plus as my daughter went on to a dual language school. The staff is wonderful and stays consistent. Maple Bear is a fabulous place for your child. Our daughter, having started at MB at 14 months, has been thriving. She is now in the Jr. Preschool classroom (for two-year-olds). What are the highlights? Incredible ratio of teachers to children. They vary from age to age, but regardless of the age, the ratio is always better than other nearby sites. The site is clean, organized and all my daughter's teachers feel very supported by the administrators. The teachers all love their jobs so they are some of the happiest caregivers I met. There is a lot of support so that the teachers can apply learning in a fun, playful way. By age 2, my daughter could count to 10 in both Spanish and English and can sing the Alphabet Song, albeit with a few errors. They serve healthy meals and snacks, but will work with you if you want to bring your child your own food. We've had such bad luck, with two wonderful places closing, we are so thankful we found Maple Bear! They are so friendly, have low turnover for teachers, they do Spanish, dance, activities, theme days and more! My four month old daughter and 2 year old daughter have been here for over two weeks and I have nothing but amazing things to say about this school. Maureen and Lori are obviously passionate about what they do and are very quick to address any questions or concerns I have. Everyone here seems to really care about all of the kids. Even teachers that are in different rooms and I have not met before will say hi to my girls when we walk by. Everything is very well organized, clean, and extremely secure. Every time I have dropped them both off and picked them up the environment has been very calm and they are having a great time. They send pictures pretty much every day, and I love the curriculum they follow and the activities they do in my older daughters room. I'm so glad we found this school! read more
