This is my favorite store and I always go out of my way to shop there. They are very well stocked with a great variety and always have what I need. They have always gone above and beyond. Ever since new management took over, this has been my go to store. It is now a well stocked store with a friendly staff.

Came to the store to buy a 6 pack of craft beer and a 4 pack of a canned Margarita product. As I got home and opened the package for the Margarita product, I noticed it felt unusually light. As I pulled the cans out, none of them were full, some almost empty. All were sealed and no apparent leaks. I went back and described the situation and the owner pointed to the All Sales Final sign. We began to argue and he threatened to call the police on me. I don't know how people like this stay in business. Hopefully he won't for long. read more

Just dealt with some odd business behavior at the Happy Times Package store and wanted to share the experience as a warning to others. I had gone in and purchased some drinks and mixers. Everything was fine for that initial purchase but when I got home I realized that one of the margarita mixes looked a bit different than the other bottle (same brand, same size). I discovered that it had actually expired over a year ago (May 2019). So I drove back to the store to exchange or return it. The guy working remembered me (it had only been like 15-20minutes) and said I could exchange it which was great. But then realized they didn't have anymore at that size and brand. So I asked for a refund instead and then the tone shifted. He tried to first convince me that it might still be good and be a buy by date and not an expiration date. I pointed out that wasn't right, that it had natural juices in it that would go bad, and even if he was right we are talking about something that is 15+ months past the date. He then offered to exchange it for two of the smaller bottles of the brand which at first I thought was nice but then said I would need to pay the difference on. Which in itself is a little nickel and diming since the cost per ounce is more expensive on the smaller bottles anyway (hence why I was buying the larger bottle to begin with vs a bunch of little ones). But even with that it was the next comment that gave me the most pause. He said he couldn't put the exchange in the system and that I would instead need to pay him the difference in cash. That sounded a bit shady so I told him just nevermind and that I would just take a refund to my card instead. He then tells me that isn't possible. That I would need to come back for a third time if I wanted to do that and something about needing to leave my name and number and that I couldn't get a refund until their distributor guy refunded the bottle for them to get a refund on it first. That giving him the cash was my only option if I wanted to deal with it now. It was only a few bucks (which I did end up handing over) but the whole experience and how they dealt with a problem that they were responsible for (a way over expired product on the shelf) left a bad taste in my mouth. Needless to say I'll be shopping somewhere else from now on and even then will be more vigilant on double checking for expiration dates. read more

I entered this establishment excited for the night ahead of me. As soon as I walked in, I was met with terrible service. The man working the counter was disrespectful and ignored me when I asked if they had what I was looking for. I ended up not being able to find what I came in for, so I settled for a case of Bud Light and some shooters. The entire time I was in the store, I felt an off-vibe in the establishment I went to go purchase my items and I was met with more blatant disrespect. The man said I was not old enough (I am 46.) No one has ever told me this and quite frankly I have not been ID in over 20 years. Once I showed him my ID, he reluctantly sold me the products. To conclude my experience, when I walked out I was met with a huge ROACH scurrying out of the door as I opened it. When I got home, I opened the beers and noticed the expiration date. It was over a year expired. I was extremely disappointed and drove straight back. I told him the situation and he acted like he did not know who I was (I was in there around 15 minutes prior). He refused to give me a refund and demanded me to leave. I have never experienced so much disrespect from anywhere. So to save anyone else from having a horrific experience, do NOT waste your time here. read more

This place judges people based on the color of their skin. Let me explain. We pulled up as they were closing at the same time as another guy. One of my friends got out of the car and went up to the door at the same time as the other guy. Both asked if they could come in and make a quick purchase. The guy working let in the other guy, who happened to be white, and then shut the door in my friend's face, who is from Peru. Absolutely unacceptable! You deny both or let both in! I live around the corner and will NEVER purchase anything from this establishment. It's a harsh reality that these things still happen, but this shouldn't be ignored!!! This place is a diamond in the rough when you are looking for beer styles that might have been seasonal and have past. I found what I was looking for without having to run to the larger stores like Greens and Tower. I had low expectations but they came through. Overall the beer selection is low and the beer price tag was $11.99 but the owner charged me $12.99. When I mentioned that it was wrong, he said that the price was wrong. I didn't care to argue as I found the beer I wanted, but the response was shady. What for that when you go there. read more

This place is a true diamond in the rough. What a great find for a beer lover. The owners are very friendly and helpful. There are beers here that I've only found in Greens and Hop City. Plus, if you ask for a beer they don't stock, they will ask their distributor if they can get it for you. Prices are very competitive too. Sweetwater and Terrapin is cheaper than Kroger, plus they get all the seasonal brews. read more

I was so happy when I saw this store opening. I love having a liquor store close by. They are great help when you are not sure what to get. Also they go out of their way to get you good prices and if they have a gift set for same price they will look in their back room for it which is cool. It is within walking distance to my house and the guys there are really nice. I want them to remain open. The last liquor store that was in Oak Grove area had shut down so I'm hoping this one will make it. read more

We pulled up in our vehicle as they were closing for the evening. My Hispanic friend walked up to the door as a older white gentleman also walked up, both hoping the employee would let them in at the last minute. After much waving and persuading, the employee walked over to unlock and open the door. But much to my surprise, and the surprise of the others in our vehicle, the employee let the white gentleman in but then started to close the door in my friend's face. He blatantly allowed the white man inside the store as a courtesy, but wouldn't allow my Hispanic friend inside. When others of us, who are white, went to his aid to point out the obvious racism, the store employee then tried to remedy the situation and open the door to him. Needless to say, we were happy to purchase our beers elsewhere. I cannot believe that this actually happened, right in front of our faces. How pathetic and shameful. I understand if the employee didn't want to reopen because it was after hours. But to allow one man to be a patron but not another is truly disgusting. Their money was the same color, but their skin color wasn't- and that apparently is a problem for this establishment. read more
