My wife and I have been taking our little Yorkie here since he was a puppy. My mother in law used happy tails before we got our dog, and loved the place, so when we got a dog we decided to try it out as well. I hadn't really thought of it until just now, but I guess we have been using Sandra for almost 9 years now. I Honestly wish I would have thought to have written her a review sooner, because she certainly deserves one. Our Yorkie is one of those dogs that gets terrible anxiety when we take him ANYWHERE. Sandra must be doing something right, because every time he goes to get groomed, once we walk in the door and he seems to realize where he is, he calms down. It's obvious he is comfortable there. Sandra has always been very accommodating to us and our crazy schedules. She has worked us in to her busy schedule last minute numerous times. She often gives our small children stickers for coming in, and she always talks to them. She is an exceptionally friendly person. Her prices have remained very stable over the years with very few increases, even when it seems that price increases would be warranted. It's obvious she cares about what she does. She even knows what we are going to ask for before we ask. Haha Just yesterday when I dropped him off, I asked her to take about half his length off, and she replied with a smile "and extra short around the eyes, and shaved by the butt, with a teddy bear face?" She certainly knows her clients. We wouldn't take our little buddy anywhere else. Her work is fantastic, her prices are great, and her friendly personality is second to none. The few times I have had interactions with her counterparts were always equally pleasant as well. If you are looking for a great groomer, this is the place! read more

I took our Lhasa Apso to them today and couldn't be happier. The salon is very clean and Crystal took the time to listen to my concerns about my dogs coat. She gave solutions that will help him but still made him look cute! He seemed very comfortable with them and was treated well. I was told by a friend about this place and that they do drop in nail trimming and grinding for only $5 and her experience was warm, attentive, and her dogs were cared for and the groomer took time to be acquainted with her dogs. So, I went. Shop: Very cute, clean, tidy, small family owned business in The Blvd. Customer Service: I called ahead of the time and the gentleman who picked up was friendly and professional. He confirmed what my friend told me. Groomer: I got there and sure enough, Kristal who was the groomer came over with a smile, put on her mask and was ready to go. She was talking to my dog and he has a hard time with his nails being trimmed despite that he's been to the groomer regularly for 8 years; he just doesn't like it. I asked if I can hold him while she trims and she was fine with that. This was the first time that my dog wasn't whining though he was still showing some nervousness when Kristal was trimming. SHE WAS QUICK and the entire 5 mins (?) she was talking him down to calm him while I held him. Cost: $5 total! I tipped her. I was so thankful how friendly and calm she was. TAKE YOUR DOGS ELSEWHERE! Firstly, let me say that Sandra (the groomer who owns this place) is very dishonest. I don't appreciate being lied to when I come to pick up my dogs. I should have noticed something was off when both of my boys were so eager to get out of there. I know one of my dogs is harder to groom and tends to get scared easily but for there to be MULTIPLE gouges all over his body has me livid. When I arrived to pick them up, she told me both of them were well-behaved, and there were no incidents. When Sandra's help was getting my boys out the cage, the one left with gouges on his body was trembling in his cage and refused to come to her help until he realized that I was there to pick him up. After getting him home, I finally noticed all the gouge marks left on him. My poor fur-baby should not have had to go through whatever they did to him, and she should own up to her mistakes. read more

I will NEVER go back here. First off, I've never had a groomer ask me for shot records, ever. So I call my vet to email me the shot records because they requested them in order to proceed grooming my dog. I show them to her, and she still would not groom my dog because the rabies wasn't up to her standards. Really??? When do house dogs get freaking rabies these days. Worst first impression ever. I witnessed my dog's groomer at Happy Tails Grooming on Lancaster Blvd being physically abusive to my dog while grooming him last night. My dog has been groomed by this same person at this place many times over (about) a year and a half now. I was at a food establishment across the street and could see my dog (in clear view through the front doors) standing on the grooming table being shaved. As I watched from a distance, I saw that his groomer was handling him very aggressively. In disbelief, I walked out to the center of the Blvd to get a closer look and to confirm what I was seeing. I witnessed her shove his face forcefully, push his body/legs in different directions forcefully, tighten the lead on his neck and around his hind legs much too tightly, grab his face with both of her hands and appear to be verbally reprimanding him with her face within a few inches of his, tug up on the lead on his neck forcefully raising his front legs off the table, and grab his hind leg and smack it down with force on the grooming table several times in a row. I had just been complimenting the groomer and recommending her to my friend and her husband before I saw this! Completely shaken, I walked into the groomer and demanded she give me my dog while telling her what I had just witnessed. She handed me my dog while stating, "I didn't want him to get cut." I verbally reprimanded her for her handling of my dog. I carried my dog outside and sat in a chair just next door to the groomer to secure my dog's collar and leash. A lady walking by stopped to ask what was wrong, as I was crying, when I told her I had just witnessed the groomer mishandling my dog, she said, "my dog is in there" and rushed inside to get her. When she came out with her English Bulldog she said she asked the groomer what she had done to my dog and she said the groomer told her she was trying not to cut my dog. The lady expressed feeling like something wasn't right when she waiting for the call to pick up her dog. Sadly, I never got the feeling that my dog wasn't being cared for as he deserved when taking him there previous times. Had I gotten that feeling, I would have never taken him back. I am sick by what I had to see and feel so badly for subjecting my dog to what he endured but it has opened my eyes to what can and does happen. read more

My Dog has been going to the groomer since day one, yes, she was tangled only in 2 small places, on the skirt only, I knew exactly where they were, easy to cut out or around, her condition wasn't bad, at all!! What she did to my dog was PURE LAZINESS! Did they need to shave her? NO WAY, NO HOW ! A good groomer would never ever do this. Her Face? That wasn't even done properly. What she doesn't know is that I showed dogs for over 8 years, at Westminster!! And I would sit and chat with groomers for hours and hours. Shaving a westie destroys their coat. I called and spoke to Sandra the owner that's what she claimed to be at least she told me that her prices were $45 plus extra if my dog had knots in her hair I told her that there was a place that was $45 thank you and hung up on her after going online and reading the reviews I decided not to go without other place and called Sandra back at her salon to schedule my dogs appointment after explaining everything to her and trying to see when was her soonest appointment she rudely replies to me and when I said rudely I mean Extremely rude and told me that "I will not be booking your appointment because you were rude when you hung up on the phone with me when you called earlier". I was in no way rude I explained that there was somewhere cheaper that didn't have the additional fees and ended the call but I think Sandra was expecting me to kiss her butt because she was pissed. When I informed her that I would be leaving this review this woman was so arrogant that she told me to please do. The problem with small town businesses in these kind of towns is that the owners think that they can talk to the consumers in any type of way she was not professional not even the slightest bit and it's extremely sad because she claimed to be the owner herself.
