She did a head CT that revealed a deviated septum, and referred me to Dr. Wassmuth. I was quite impressed by the kindness, courtesy, and professionalism when I first visited the office of Capitol Otolaryngology. Dr. Wassmuth examined my nose and suggested balloon sinuplasty with turbinate reduction. After much trepidation, I scheduled the surgery, which is done in-office. The process of fixing my nose didn't take all that long. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Jack Carsner, was excellent, as were all those I met in the operating room. The procedure apparently went off without a hitch, and my husband drove me home where I rested the remainder of the day. Within a day or so I was feeling much better. I am still considered to be recovering after a week, but have already experienced noticeable improvements in my breathing. My husband says my snoring was virtually gone within a day after the procedure. I've had a variety of seemingly-minor health concerns, that when put together, have led to other problems. Snoring, dry mouth, dental issues, and poor sleep quality turned out to have (at least in part) had a common root cause in breathing problems. Hopefully all will improve or resolve before very long. If you have any kind of breathing problems, including snoring and symptoms like dry mouth when you awaken, you may benefit from a visit to Dr. Wassmuth. I highly recommend his medical practice.

He always took the time to answer any questions I had and thoroughly explain what he was going to be doing. The procedure had minimal pain, no nasal packing, and the recovery was quick. I can breathe better now and have also noticed that I sleep better than before!

I had a virtual visit with Monique this past week and she proved herself again!! She is truly 1 in a million. She has been traveling around giving talks about sleep issues...yes, she is that good. And again, I called the office multiple times and I have decided that leaving a message or not is my own problem, Monique is worth the hassle because I don't think there is anyone else more knowledgeable. She is truly outstanding, the best there is. Thanks! ---------------- The following was my previous review: The good: Monique. The bad: This place NEVER answers the phone. You always have to leave a message and wait, most likely until the next day. Sure can't be in a hurry if you have to work with the office staff. So you decide, I prefer to "work" thru this mess all because of Monique, like I said before, she is the best!!

Then on…read more10/24/25, an employee with Nationwide Medical called asking for my credit card number and requesting an auto-pay status for my new Aircurve 11. My cost was $196.30. I wasn't to give my card to a person I had trouble understanding..her English was hard to understand. I reached out to Monique and explained my situation and was referred to Blane the Nationwide rep for the NW area. Blane helped me and told me a person from Nationwide, Clay would help with the new Aircurve 11. Before Clay and I set up my new Aircurve 11, I had a phone call from Sleep Medical Consultants person Bree (Breanna). I told Bree that I hadn't set up the Aircurve 11 due to the frustration with the price quote. The price quote was not adding up and to the payment method. A person named Samantha interjected on the phone call and scolded me for critiquing my billing frustration and the bad English relayed. So on 11/17/25 I went to myHealthspot portal and under Documents, I saw a generic Termination Letter to me. I now have the Aircurve11 but I guess I was terminated by my doctor. Clay Nationwide told me to use my new BiPAP machine for 2 weeks and then call Monique to "tweat" my new machine. I don't think the doctor, Mr Bhavim may be aware. At first, I was not going to keep my new Aircurve 11 due to the billing but Blane and Clay helped me immensely so I kept it. I am a heart patient and visit my cardiologist and I need my BiPAP to be working properly. I just don't understand why I get a Telemedicine conference, a Sleep study, set up my Aircurve 11, and now I'm terminated. I now have no Monique or a doctor. This is so frustrating....I've not looked for advice...No offense meant.... I just have the facts. All I ever wanted to do is buy new equipment and get it monitored. Please understand that I felt ignored. Who terminated me and why? I don't have a doctor to help me. I do have regrets. I'm also 73 years old.

Originally I went for a sinoplasty and turbinate surgery in may 2024, and it turned out to help. But the follow up was awful and I didn't get to see the doctor at any point after my first visit even tho I had a bad recovery from it and they wanted to see me for a second follow up I still didn't see Dr. Slaughter. Fast forward to yesterday. I had been experiencing vocal cord pain that wasn't strep and as a professional singer that is scary. I went in because he was my ENT before and I figured I'd go to the same one. He never once came in to see me. They told me they planned to do something where they shove a camera up my nose and into my vocal cords to check. They didnt do this but instead they put it in my mouth. The camera took a video (which I included a picture of what they showed me because they wouldn't send me any information about what was going on in my throat for some reason). After they took the video I figured that Dr slaughter would come in to detail that I had something in my throat but it was minor. Instead the PA came back in and told me I had 2 unidentifiable growths on top of my vocal cords that they needed to remove to ensure they weren't cancerous. I asked if they were just polyps (which I know can be somewhat normal) but she said no, and that they needed to remove the growths as soon as possible to check for disease aka throat cancer. So at this point I'm freaking out because I turned 35 a few days ago and having cancer at this age is horrible and abnormal. I'm also confused why Dr. slaughter wouldn't be the one to relay this very abnormal and sensitive information. They make me go to the surgery scheduler and it's like the movie where I'm just hearing ringing in my ears and agreeing with everything. I'm alone and scared and sad and traumatized all at the same time. As I'm driving home I have a revelation to get a second opinion. The video was not the best and the PA even go as deep into my throat as she could go. (Ie through my nostrils and they are already jumping to excising a tumor). I call another ENT dr. Chad whited and this office hears me loud and clear and squeezes me in same day. I go to his office and they do the scope through my nose and into my throat. He finds something called a "granuloma" which the name immediately scares me. He tells me not to worry and that it's from vocal cord overuse, and that less than 1% of them are cancerous. He also said I clearly have acid reflux (which I didn't think about it effecting my vocal cords much which seems dumb now). He says that my granuloma needs to be checked on in 2 months but until then do as much vocal rest as I can and basically to only drink water as I take some medication to get my acid reflux in check. I see the 2 dots that Dr. Slaughters PA found which are different from the granuloma, and ask what they are. Dr. Whited says oh don't worry that's mucus. It's... mucus. The "unidentifiable growth" that I had to get surgically removed to test for cancer according to Dr. slaughter... is mucus. I then find out that Dr. Slaughter pulls this type of stunt with multiple patients, overcharging them for things they don't actually need, and is only ever present on the first visit to act like he is present all the time, but he is not. Yesterday going from thinking I was dying of cancer to learning I need to take an over the counter medication and hydrate was easily one of the toughest of my life, and all could have been solved if Dr. Slaughter would have done his job with the right instruments and actually shown up for the appointment I scheduled with him. I forgot the mention they gave me a CT scan of my sinuses that I refused multiple times (because my issue was my throat) then they tried to charge me an extra 150 dollars for it. I was able to get it comped but the front office worker Destiny has the gall to tell me I can refuse anything at anytime. Dr. Slaughter psychological damage I'm trying to recover from.
