My dentist is well versed in understanding sleep issues, and based on our discussions thought I…read moremight have a breathing problem. She did a head CT that revealed a deviated septum, and referred me to Dr. Wassmuth. I was quite impressed by the kindness, courtesy, and professionalism when I first visited the office of Capitol Otolaryngology. Dr. Wassmuth examined my nose and suggested balloon sinuplasty with turbinate reduction. After much trepidation, I scheduled the surgery, which is done in-office. The process of fixing my nose didn't take all that long. The anesthesiologist, Dr. Jack Carsner, was excellent, as were all those I met in the operating room. The procedure apparently went off without a hitch, and my husband drove me home where I rested the remainder of the day. Within a day or so I was feeling much better. I am still considered to be recovering after a week, but have already experienced noticeable improvements in my breathing. My husband says my snoring was virtually gone within a day after the procedure. I've had a variety of seemingly-minor health concerns, that when put together, have led to other problems. Snoring, dry mouth, dental issues, and poor sleep quality turned out to have (at least in part) had a common root cause in breathing problems. Hopefully all will improve or resolve before very long. If you have any kind of breathing problems, including snoring and symptoms like dry mouth when you awaken, you may benefit from a visit to Dr. Wassmuth. I highly recommend his medical practice.

I recently had surgery with Dr. Wassmuth to correct my sinus issues. It was a fantastic experience…read morefrom the initial consultation through the post-op appointments. He always took the time to answer any questions I had and thoroughly explain what he was going to be doing. The procedure had minimal pain, no nasal packing, and the recovery was quick. I can breathe better now and have also noticed that I sleep better than before!

It was my great fortune to choose Dr. Daniel Slaughter as my sleep apnea doctor when my former…read moredoctor retired. Dr. Slaughter has a double board certification in both Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine, and has over 30 years of experience. He trains other ENT doctors to use his balloon technique. If you have to have deviated septum or sinus surgery, or need help with sleep apnea, I highly recommend this physician for your treatment. He helped develop a minimally invasive technique called balloon sinuplasty. I have heard many horror stories regarding recovery from people who experienced deviated septum surgery in other ENT doctor's offices. I experienced nothing but positivity yesterday. When I arrived for surgery, from the front desk staff who greeted me and checked me in, to every single person I encountered, I felt at peace. The nurses are exceptional, especially Karen, who checked on me in the recovery room, and the nurse who stayed with me after surgery (I don't remember her name). When Karen had me prepped for surgery and walked me into the surgery room, I saw the doctor, the anesthesiologist, and at least 3 nurses, standing in a simi circle around the chair, all smiling at me, as if they were the welcoming committee! It gave me such a feeling of peace, and I knew they were going to take good care of me. Every single encounter was first class and professional. My recovery so far has been excellent, with very little bleeding, no stints in my nostrils, and only mild discomfort. I am thrilled to share my experience with everyone I can so no one has to tell another horror story about their deviated septum experience. Nancy L

He…read moreknew in an instant what was going on in my nose/sinuses while multiple "top docs" in my state couldn't figure it out. Dr. Slaughter said I didn't need any surgery (which was a happy surprise, one of the top docs said I did) so I didn't get the impression that they were price gouging in any shape or form (as suggested by another reviewer). In fact, the amazing benefit was Dr. Slaughter takes my insurance, so although I came from out of state, this was all in-network for me, keeping my costs way down. I'm grateful to have found him and am on my way to recovery from a debilitating situation.

Chad Denman, DDS, and his team of sleep specialists screen, diagnose, educate, and treat snoring, sleep apnea, and other sleep disorders like insomnia. Before seeing a patient, the team of sleep specialists have them complete a health screening tool, which accurately identifies if the patient is suffering from obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). OSA is disruptive and can be fatal in some circumstances. They talk to their patients about their diagnosis and treatment choices -- like continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy, oral appliance therapy, and surgery -- then decide which would make the best choice for them. If the team needs more information to diagnose their patient's sleep problems, they use the innovative home sleep testing tool WatchPAT™ One.  They also have each patient download the SnoreLab app so that the team knows when their patients stop snoring. The patient may use a pulse oximeter, so they know if oxygen levels are staying consistent when sleeping. Lastly, the team will do a second sleep study to confirm their success. Most of the care offered by the sleep specialists at Sleep Cycle Center can be done through the telehealth app and the mail, making it easier for patients to get the help they need for their sleep disorder. Advanced Sleep Center - I'm glad I brought an almost-empty toothpaste. Im not sure a full size toothpaste, toothbrush, and hair brush would have all fit here.
