The staff is incredible. Colby and Racheal are our two primary walkers. They care for my guy, Burrito, like they care for their own dogs, who accompany them on all adventures. They also offer overnight care - we did this in late September for a weekend and were so thrilled with how it went! According to his Paw Report, he was only fed five times during his entire four-night stay. He should have been fed approximately 15 times. The amount of food that was returned to us made it very clear that he had not been fed anywhere near what we had provided or instructed. As a four-month-old puppy, this was extremely upsetting to see. Unfortunately, that was not the only concerning issue. My parents' two intact male dogs stayed at the facility during the same period. One came home with extremely inflamed and infected testicles. I understand that this is a sensitive detail, but it is important to mention because this is actually the second time this has happened to one of their dogs after staying at this facility. The first occurrence was earlier this year, and we initially assumed it was an isolated incident. After it happened again, we became much more concerned. We do not know the cause, and I don't want to speculate, but we have questions about the cleaning products or whether floors and surfaces are being allowed to fully dry before dogs are put back into the area. Both my parents and I attempted to contact the facility to speak with a manager and simply understand what happened. I spoke with a gentleman, I believe his name was Tyler, for quite some time and made it very clear that I was not looking to cause an issue. I simply wanted answers and an explanation. I was told that a manager would contact me the following day. No one ever did. My parents also attempted to follow up and were unable to get answers. Our veterinarian actually recommended that we share our experience because of the infection. What makes this particularly frustrating is that the concerns started from the beginning, with the number of add-ons and packages presented when booking and deciding what level of care your dog receives. It felt like the focus was on upselling services rather than making sure the basic needs of the dogs were being met. I would never feel comfortable boarding my dog here again. Four nights should not result in a four-month-old puppy coming home covered in urine and feces and apparently receiving only a fraction of the food he was supposed to receive. Combined with the lack of communication and the medical issue involving my parents' dogs, this experience has completely destroyed our trust in the facility.

When it did, it showed the dogs running around with one staff standing against a wall and on their cell phone. We scheduled our puppy for a bath- it never happened. A couple of weeks ago, we boarded our puppy for 1 overnight. I arrived at 8am (when they open), staff was not ready. I waited, along with 10 other parents, for my puppy to be brought down, and was told he hadn't been fed breakfast. I noticed he was wet, but it wasn't until I got him to the car that I realized it was urine, and all of his bedding was saturated with urine. When I got him home, I noticed that all of the food I pre-packaged for him, was still in the bag. He hadn't been fed at all while in their care! I had really hoped BD had changed, but it's obvious that they haven't. It's clear they don't hire competent staff or train them properly. I would not recommend anyone bringing their dog there! Yelp is making me rate BD with a Star- I wouldn't give one if I didn't have to!

They have offered to reimburse me for medical expenses. The comment below from the new owners is accurate, and it was a relief to hear the changes they are making when they called me. It's been an about a month, I've thought long and hard about this post. On Monday, June 17th I dropped my dog off at daycare. A place he has been going (and loved) for years. At 1pm I got a call from the employee there, saying that my dog was attacked, and that I needed to get him immediately, and bring him to the vet. They thought he had 1 wound.. he had 3 (3 bad ones, but I keep finding scabs from others). He ended up with 10 staples, an oral antibiotic, and injection antibiotics for 21 days. This happened on a Monday, by Thursday I knew something was very wrong and took him back to my Amazing Vet. The wound that they didn't staple (they try not to close dog bites because their mouths are gross) was infected beyond what the oral antibiotics could handle, and had become much worse. They were considering surgery to remove the infection and close the wound... Thankfully they tried another route first, and the injection antibiotics did the trick. He is still wearing a shirt to protect the wounds, he is still on anti inflammation medication, he is still recovering. Playtime Pet Resort (formerly Play All Day) in Exeter, does not have a bite policy. And, because my baby tried to run away from the dogs attacking him, they do not have clear video footage of the attack. They say they can't identify the dogs that attacked him (the vet confirmed it was more than 1). They attempted to placate me by saying "it happened right at the feet of the employee"... unfortunately, the other DOGS (plural), were not expelled. Those dogs that attacked mine are still there and there is nothing I can do about it. Please be aware. My boy loved it there for the last 4 years (split between Hampton and Exeter). I loved the convenience of them being in town, and picking up a tired dog at the end of the day. However, he will never go back. It is no longer a safe space for him. Please read all reviews for this business AND Play All Day (Exeter),before choosing the best place for your dog. I hope this will prevent any other families from experiencing an "incident" like this.
