I went awhile back so I'm not sure if they still have the Dalgona drink. Anyways, it looked like it may have been seasonal or something so I ordered that. They told me they had ran out & couldn't make it. Since I had gone there with my friend after dinner next door, I didn't really need anything & just joined her for company. I told them I was good & didn't need a drink but thank you. As my friend was about to pay for her solo drink, one of the girls was like we can make your drink. We have the stuff for it. Okay, I guess... so I ordered the drink. It tasted fine, it tasted like Dalgona. Games to play but missing pieces, eh, this probably wouldn't be the first place I'd go to if craving a drink.

Olivia personally greeted us when we walked in and helped make sure we knew where everything was. After you have sampled, you go to the kiosk and order which size cup you wood like then you assemble your perfect cup of boba! The parking was my biggest hiccup; depending on the time and day, it can be a hassle. As someone stated in a previous review, there's parking in the back and in front of the shop. There was a parking lot across the street; it appears to be a private lot with tow signs. When walking in, I was really impressed with the concept and how it all came together. I loved the futuristic decor and the lighting. I was greeted by the sweet Olivia, who guided me through their new location and showed me how to prepare my drink, from start to finish. I was looking forward to their Moon Bites, but they do not prepare food in their new location. They were so good, but I can understand the additional overhead it adds. Focus on the prize, that's the drinks and boba. To make up for no longer selling cooked meals, they have specialty items, including beef jerky. That's a great plus! I really like the fact that Olivia encourages samples. A lot of places aren't as open to free roaming when it comes to sampling their products. I always tend to end up at the honeydew, that is my absolute favorite! They have an assortment of popping and jellies to choose from. Whatever drink you choose, you'll find several that'll work perfectly with your flavors. Despite the parking, I will say they chose a great location. This is in the "college district" that has several eateries and establishments that bring in a healthy weekend crowd. What a wonderful new addition to that area, they are definitely worth the visit!

The pastries, although I did not get to try one, looked delicious and refreshing. As for the coffee, it was delightful; however, that is with a request for 2 more shots in the drink. I explained to the lady what I had, what I liked and didn't like and gave the same drink another try with some changes. She mentioned popping boba and I didn't like that (think of gushers) - she told me I could change it out for something else and suggested the honey boba, which I went with. I personally couldn't tell the difference between honey boba and regular boba and the drink really doesn't benefit from the boba. Otherwise, the drink was sweet versus the last time which was very tart, and she told me if it wasn't sweet enough she would fix it for me. Overall, a refreshing drink on a warm fall day.

Gong Cha is a place for those who are looking to get a drink that's not overloaded with sugar…read moreunlike other boba tea places. Their Pearl boba milk tea is the definition of perfection; not too sweet and the taste of a regular milk tea drink isn't too watery or plain. Usually customers won't have an issue when places put less ice and more of the drink, but ironically I actually think Gong Cha puts too little ice. Especially during this 100 degree summer, I remember getting a drink from them and it took all but two minutes under the sun for all the ice to melt. The drink itself isn't cold enough in my opinion, but nonetheless I still enjoy coming here, alternating between this chain and Bambu nearby. The store isn't too large, and if it gets crowded it will be hard to find seating. The atmosphere is nothing special, but overall my experience with staff and drink quality remains good enough for me to come back.
