I drink boba as much as the next asian college kid on SAT (iykyk) and I was very very sad to see Blackball close as it was one of my all time favourite boba places but Im very very happy to see this takes it spot. I love the boba, its soft and fresh and the mochi donuts are soo good. This place is on the more expensive side but for how good it is, its worth it trust me. I give my starts based on price and taste and if it tastes good, i'm willing to pay a little extra for quality and that's what you'll get here. I came here to order the wintermelon lemonade (3/5) and the volcano corn dog (4/5). I ordered two sauces mango habenero and garlic parmesan. When I got my order I somehow got 3 sauces and the third sauce looked red like gochujang so I was like " Wow how sweet of Tina K." Little did I know the third sauce that I dipped my whole corn dog in was definitely not gochujang. It tasted like the devil's sauce. It was fiery as hell and made my tongue numb and lips quivering. I was also sweating and all these side effects lasted for 10 minutes. I feel like it's because I didn't tip so they pulled a prank on me for revenge but it's okay i accept your challenge because I am a spice god. My Visit was really good for a soft opening understanding that staff is new and is still in the process of training! I ordered the original bubble waffle and the strawberry shortcake which was recommended by an employee working there! I have had the strawberry shortcake but wanted to try the Oreo milk tea and the employee, he recommended me his favorite which was the strawberry shortcake but sub the puff cream for the Oreo puff and LET ME TELL YOU GUYS, ITS AMAZING! My second visit, which was the day after my first I was craving happy lemon again! This location is right next to my work and I had a feeling it was going to be my lunch spot so I told myself I would only get a drink. I came here again and wow the employee that helped me remembered me and was super welcoming! I ordered his favorite again and he laughed and said it's even better if you add taro balls and he said he made it today with love and I laughed and said okay. AGAIN here I am trying it out and it was just amazing! He then recommended that the drink would be really good with a strawberry and Oreo donut and I gave in and bought the trio set. My third visit, ehh I came on a weekend and the line was pretty long. Line wait was almost 10 minutes, the employee that took my order I felt rushed and it wasn't the same. I ordered the strawberry with Oreo and they charged me Oreo and also left the puff cream inside. I'm not upset mistakes happens. I wanted to order a hotdog but the wait time on that was really long so I decided to come back another day. This was the last time I was going to visit this location for a while. The wait time for the location was really long, my first 3 visits was really good but this was my last. I ordered 4 drinks and all had normal ice but when I got since my car there was less to no ice in my drinks. My strawberry shortcake drink was bland and melted. I was really disappointed. I ordered 2 hotdogs and I was already pissed from waiting 20 minutes for 2 hotdogs. Luckily the guy that's been really helpful this whole time which I found out later was a manager asked me what am I still waiting for and that he can ask if it's ready. He brought it out and all I wanted to do with take it and leave but he asked if I like to put all the condiments on and it's super good. Yes I Gave in again because every recommendation that this employee gave me has satisfied me everytime during my visits! He added sugar , ketchup and mustard. This place is quite the catch! The inside is nicely decorated and clean, they have 2 screens at the front for self serve, and there's a great variety of food and drinks! U can get your fixings of drinks, dessert including MOCHINUT, bubble waffle, etc or KOREAN CORNDOGS!!!! The donuts are made of MOCHI and so is the bubble waffle! Oh u gonna nut for sure and the flavors is gonna be busting in your mouth! I don't usually eat donut bc I don't like the taste but THIS IS MORE THAN JUST A DONUT ITS A MOCHINUT betches and it's probably the best I had in my entire life!!!! It's always fresh, delicious, and as u can see the presentation is just mmmmm chef kiss ouuuuuweeeeee BISH PASS ME THE ROCK ohhhhh and not to mention the drinks r amazing! I like to get the avocado smoothie:) it's so delicious, perfectly creamy and the perfect amount! Great place! Love the milk tea with Puff Cream + Crema + Taro Ball! The donuts are also delicious . However, the wait time usually is around 30 mins during weekends. I would strongly suggest the business owner to introduce an online order system or in-store self order system. It would be much faster and less error prone. read more

Drinks are not quite as good as the other Happy Lemons I have been to. Even though I ordered less sugar, it was still quite sweet. The mochi donuts were fine, but not something so special that I would crave to get again I have wanted to try the hot dogs, but everytime I stop by, there is a long line of people and I didn't feel like waiting over 30 min for a hot dog during my lunch break. Drinks are good but service is so slow. Staff are friendly but it's also super loud in there from the music being blasted. You sometimes have to repeat yourself just for them to hear you when they take your order. For how long they have been open, the wait is usually 10-15+ mins just for drinks. Sometimes it won't even be that busy. I've been here on multiple occasions and every time I come I'm reminded by how long orders take to come out and it makes me not want to return. The mochi donuts are great! Lightly sweet and the perfect blend of chewiness and softness. We had assumed all mochi donuts were like that until we tried some others that were doughier/bread-ier and realized these are the superior ones the rice dogs were tasty too (if you like corn dogs / hot dogs), our favorite is the crispy ramen one with spicy volcano dipping sauce so far. I don't recommend coming to this particular location. Slow customer service. It'll take you about 45 mins to get your drinks. On top of that, they mess it up. I waiting almost an hour for 2 waffles, and 2 drinks. The guy doesn't read instructions right. Had to redo my drink because he didn't add the boba. After drinking it in the car after I left, got my sugar levels mixed up with my other drinks. Not worth waiting an hour for messed up drinks. read more

When they had at least 6 people working at the time. I usually love the Ube milk with taro balls, but it always seems more diluted when made at the Edmonds location versus SLU or Bellevue. The food here is ok in a pinch - the donuts are not the best as most of them are covered in thick, gloopy frosting. Your best bet is the churro-caramel or churro-chocolate or churro-whatever. Be aware that the first time we tried this place some of the donuts weren't cooked all the way through, but we gave it another chance and it was better the second time. The hot dogs are fresh and tasty, the bubble waffles are delish but unfortunately not consistent with regard to how cooked they are - it varies from batch to batch (some are cooked perfectly while others are quite overdone). The milk teas and smoothies have been great in terms of sweetness and so-so in terms of boba consistency. The main problem we've had with Mochinut is the service - the third time we stopped here we waited 40 minutes in line + after ordering for one donut, one hotdog and one bubble waffle. 40. MINUTES. There were 6 employees frantically working behind the counter and going back and forth between the kitchen and register area, but somehow, despite all that manpower, things were hugely inefficient and not working as they should have. I watched as three separate people came in to pick up online orders they'd been told were ready, only to be informed that the orders weren't going to be ready for another "5-10 minutes". My main issue was that the employee who spoke with them didn't apologize - he just said in an offended tone, "Well, you can see we're busy," and seemed irritated that the customers were frustrated at having to wait longer than they'd been informed. Here's the thing - with the technology and the training tools available in this day and age, there is zero reason that customers be misinformed as to exactly when their orders are ready. If this place wants to stay in business and maintain a customer base they'd better fix things, and fast. If you have to go here, order ahead of time and be prepared to wait. read more

I love this place and go here often! The bubble waffles are addicting and mochinuts are so chewy and good plus they have rotating flavors every week! The Korean dogs are crunchy and filling, love the mozzarella melty goodness. My only reason for rating it low is because they REALLY need to update their packaging, especially when you're trying to order for your whole work and you can't carry everything at once and nothing is covered or bagged properly and the dogs just come on flimsy trays, the waffles come in a half covering paper thing. Mochinuts taste good but the service hmm :) I asked for a dozen but into two boxes, the girl told me that she would put two half dozen orders and the price will be slightly different. Then I realized instead of 30/dozen it went to 16/half. So I got charged by 2 dollars for an empty box. So far all good - I don't give two stars for getting overcharged by 2 dollars; she already told me there would be a difference, I didn't ask for details though; I got the point that I cant just come into a cafe buying a venti cup but asking to split into two tall cups so that I can share with my friend, this is not how they do the business. Again, so far I'm all good. If the food is 5-star, then it's a 5-start comment. But when I picked up the food and suggested another girl to let the customer know they gonna charge 2 dollars for just that box (I agree if you insist that this number can be found from menu), btw I explicitly said I would just let it go this time but in the future please provide enough information to the customers, she didn't behave like she's listening to my suggestion and impatiently said "that's fine, that's fair", which obviously sounded like an attempt to end the conversation. Well that's FINE. Hope I won't be treated like this again after having tipped 20% for a to-go order :) But overall, the box is pretty well sealed, I like it. Also, even during the pandemic there were like 15 people in the shop, which I don't want to comment too much, most people kept social distancing, plus it's chilling outside so I didn't feel discomfortable. One more thing, one customer came in and out the kitchen twice while I was waiting. I don't know if she's a customer or an employee off duty, but she wore a purse. I was so happy when I heard that Happy Lemon was coming to Edmonds. I went on the first day of the soft opening and got an ube black tea w/ taro balls, along with a dozen mochi donuts. The donuts are amazing! Perfectly sweet, chewy, and the perfect texture for anyone who loves mochi. I loved the flavors (matcha, raspberry drizzle, churro, and strawberry), but I wished they had more. The drink was pretty good as well, for a first-time ube trier I thought it was weird, but the drink quality was definitely there. If you came during the soft opening and thought it was sub-par, I recommend coming again (they're fully opened now), this place has serious potential. read more
