This is a small sports bar off of the highway in Levittown. It has exactly what you'd expect: televisions, pool, and a shuffleboard table, lots of good beer on tap, and food up until around 10pm or so (I must admit, I forget...but that's a good thing in this case!). My friends chose this bar as a spot to host an impromptu bachelorette party, and, since I live out of state, we chose Happy Hour Tavern based on the positive reviews we read and a gut feeling that the vibes would be right. As a queer person and rural Pennsylvania native, I must say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere. Prices are incredibly fair, service was great, and all of the frequent customers were very kind in going out of their way to welcome and congratulate us. While I didn't get a chance to try the food, the drinks were great! Heavy pours for very low prices. I'm very grateful for the experience my friends and I had here. This is 100% a dive bar and full of locals, but I am a local myself so I have grown to love this bar. Food is always good and the drinks are made just to my liking (aka strong as h*ll). Happy Hour Tavern is in a small commercial strip on Veteran's Highway, and quite easy to miss. Effort should be made to find it if a friendly working man's bar is what you like. They have a fairly broad beer list, both tap and glass. The kitchen isn't exciting, but it does a decent job with the basics. The important aspect is the atmosphere. It is a cozy, unassuming place, where you can sit at the bar over a good crafty, shoot the breeze with some great storytellers, and walk out with change. Most significantly, they have one of the rare shuffle board games - complete with sawdust needed to keep the oak surface slick. Love that game. It ought to be an Olympic sport. Way more exciting than curling. No. I wouldn't bring a date here, but when I want a hidden place to sit, think, smooze, and feel the cool weight of shuffle disks in my hand, Happy Hour Tavern does the trick. read more

I love this place. It used to be a TOTAL dive. (I think I liked it more then, actually.) But recently they've cleaned the place up and expanded their 'dining' area, and therefore, the menu. The food is hit or miss but the prices are excellent. None of it's 'bad' - some of its just a little bland - but you're not really disappointed since it's so cheap - and you should be blitzed enough at this joint that it don't matter. Since they're newer to the expanded menu, I'm expecting it's just going to get better with time. Food service is also pretty fast. The beer selection is pretty decent and you can buy six-packs on your way out the door. The bartenders are all nice & you don't have to beg for attention. They make solid basic cocktails -- but don't get crazy or you'll lose them. The bathrooms? Hit or miss here on busy nights. Good music on the jukebox - and live bands that aren't that bad on Saturday nights. Sunday Karaoke is hilariously legendary. They've got a pool table -- and the coveted Hand Shuffle Board table. Hand shuffle board is where it's at in this place -- don't be surprised to find yourself facing off with 2 seriously old gents in possession of some serious hand shuffle board skill -- they'll hand your whippersnapper-ass back to you after they've wiped clean the floor. read more

They are definitely a dive bar to the fullest! I find their mixed drinks are a little pricier than most dive bars and I do t get the logic behind that. If you are a dive bar be a dive bar all the way around. The atmosphere on a Friday is a mixed generational crowd. I think the only reason it may attract youngins is due to location it's walkable from many neighborhoods - main reason we went. The food is typical bar food which is good. But just order fried foods because deli foods come from the attached deli next door and they suck. The place could also use a very deep cleansing and cleaning. read more

This is a little hole in the wall bar, but I love it. They always alternate in new or seasonal beer selections & you can always get served. The bartenders & cooks are nice, but don't expect anything fancy, it's all normal bar food, but it's decent & at a great price. The crowd is usually a little older, hardly any of the freshly 21 crowd, so that's always a plus in my book. was greeted with complete and utter disrespect as my boyfriend and I walked into this bar last night. I am a server so I completely understand guidelines and capacity and such as per CDC guidelines however I don't think it is appropriate that the bartender greeted me by throwing his arms up in front of me, getting in my face, and raising his voice at me. Of course, I tried to explain that our friends had just walked in and secured a table for five but he didn't have the time to hear me. He proceeding to walk closer to me and raise his voice even louder and caused a scene in front of the whole bar. Way to ruin a birthday. We always have a great time here. Bartenders are fantastic (shout-out to Jimmy and Dillon) drinks are cheap but great! Pool table is brand new shuffleboard is available too. Bathrooms were just redone they look great the new floors are homey and stylish. Take out beer is available. Local crowd but I always feel welcome here. the owner sits at bar 24 hrs. a day. makes patrons feel very uncomfortable. he smells bad makes this dive bar even worse. place is dirty with flies swarming all over in your face and on your food. everytime i order soup..its burns my mouth. (someone needs to fix temp. on soup. it def. is not right) i ordered a cheeseburger once and it came out just like a mcdonalds kids burger. (i think it was bought from there. and resold to me)i had bad experience everytime. wont go back and do not recommend this place to anyone. read more
