PGE came around noon and said "thing is toast, call a plumber or contractor" and left. I reached out to my Gf and her network and was referred to Mr Pipes Plumbing from family. The receptionist / scheduler was super sweet and had me take pics of the water heater so she could forward them to Chris, the technician. Got the time window: 4-7 pm. He was here by 5:30 and within an hour had my pilot light back on and the parts replaced without having to drop 2K on a new unit, install, and haul away. He was quick, to the point, and fairly priced. We are having him return to put in a sensor that will prevent a huge catastrophic leak once this heater goes bite the dust. Michael from Drain Doctor has come out a few times recently to help them, and every time he went above and beyond. He has repaired their tub and shower handle, fixed the drain in the tub by crawling under the house to replace pipes, repaired the toilet flange and anchoring, and taken care of leaking pipes under the kitchen sink. On his most recent visit for their septic system, he didn't just handle the huge job in the blazing heat, he also checked on all of his past work, made sure everything was still solid, and followed up with my grandparents personally to ease their minds. What sets Michael apart is the way he treats people. He is professional, clean, and fast, but also friendly and patient. He wears booties in the house, takes time to explain things, and even cameraed some lines and spots my grandpa was curious about. My grandparents called him a couple of times with worries, and he always responded kindly and reassured them. This was not a small septic job. It took days of digging and hard work in the worst heat, but he stayed committed until it was done right. After all of that digging in a main part of their front yard, Michael took the time to replace the dirt, wait for it to settle, level it, and move everything back so their yard looked normal again in no time. You can barely tell all that work was done now, which is such a blessing. My grandparents got a fair deal, but more importantly, they felt cared for. Having someone like Michael in their home felt more like family helping out than just a plumber doing a job. It was a pretty significant leak, so we were eager to get it fixed. Michael came out the next day to repair the leak, which required some invasive digging. We felt the quote was on the higher end, but we were spending so much on our monthly water bill, we just wanted it fixed. Michael was knowledgeable and seemed to have good reviews. However, after the work was completed, which, to us, looked good, we asked for an itemized invoice, which we should have initially asked for (our fault). Unfortunately, he stopped responding, and we never received the itemized invoice. Now, looking back, it is a significant red flag. We don't know what we were actually charged for. If the charges were fair, there should not have been an issue with providing an itemized invoice. The repair was made, we most likely paid significantly more than we should have, and there was a lack of transparency. I can not and will not recommend this company. My only suggestion, if you decide to move forward with this company, is to get an itemized quote prior to any work beginning!!

First and foremost, this company is EXCELLENT!! So we recently had a bad clogging issue where the…read moreshowers were backing up and the toilets were gurgling and losing all their water. When we would flush, water would start to come out of the bathtub drains, and it was a mess. I tried plunging and snaking and nothing was fixing the issue, so I looked up local plumbers who serviced the Rancho Cordova area. I reached out to a few different companies for quotes and one of them was Affordable Plumbing Solutions. A woman named, Kelli immediately reached back out to me to discuss what all was going on. She ended up calling me and she was so incredibly personable, professional, sweet, and understanding. She said that she would be able to have someone come out and give us a quote the same day, no problem. I had also been contacted by Bell Brothers (a very well known company) and they told me about some sort of too good to be true deal they had going on and initially said they could get me in that day. So I explained this to Kelli and she wasn't pushy or anything and told me if I can get a good deal then I should go for it. When I connected again with Bell Brothers to confirm my same day appointment, they then claimed their system messed up and said it would be the next day, then said they would escalate to a manager to call me back to get someone out that day. Without a straight answer from BB, I decided to reach back out to Kelli and set something up with them. Of all the companies I talked to that day, Kelli with APS stood out the most with her exceptional customer service, plus they were living up to their name sake with the best pricing. Well, I'm really glad we pivoted and decided to schedule with Affordable Plumbing Solutions because I NEVER HEARD BACK FROM BELL BROTHERS! Kelli ended up sending over a very nice and professional young man named, Michael from APS to check out our situation. I told him that the county had already come out and checked their clean out in the front yard and it was clear and they tried our sewer clean out but they couldn't get it open. Since the kitchen sink wasn't backing up at that point, the County plumber figured the clog was closer to the bathrooms in the back of the house. Michael figured it was going to be a pretty straight forward fix, but little did we know it was going to be harder to deal with than anticipated. He first tried to clear the clog through the shower with no luck. Then tried both roof vents with no luck. Then he tried the sewer line clean out on our driveway and couldn't get it opened or even budge due to the old rusted cast iron cap. At this point, he had been here for a while and had to go to another appointment, but said he would come back and fix it the same night. When he returned that evening, he tried for about an hour to get that stupid clean out cap off and it just wouldn't give. He had one last idea of cutting it off, but didn't have the right tools needed to do it, so he said he would come back first thing the next morning (at this point it was already 10pm). Michael ended up coming back around 7:30am the next day, and was able to cut the cap off and clear the clog which was right at that clean out spot. It took him no time at all and he even put a new, much easier to remove, cap on our clean out. When he was done, we realized that the toilet in the back bathroom seemed to have an issue, and he figured the wax ring had broken due to the pressure from the clog, but this busy guy had another appointment already scheduled. He just wanted to at least make sure we could fully use one of our bathrooms since it had been 24 hours from the start of the issues, which we sincerely appreciated. He left, came back a couple hours later, and replaced the broken wax ring no problem. While all of this is going on, Kelli is in constant communication with me, being amazing the entire time. All in all, it was a great experience, given the crappy circumstances. TLDR: This company managed to come out the same day to check out our problem and was determined to fix it. Had to come back multiple times due to our difficult situation, but they were determined to take care of us. They have some of the best pricing I found, they were extremely professional, and so incredibly nice. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND AFFORDABLE PLUMBING SOLUTIONS FOR ALL YOUR PLUMBING NEEDS!!!!!!
