My journey to RV ownership began in an airport with one phone call with the BEST employee, salesman Tanner. Our communication crossed multiple forms of media (call, text, email) which was greatly appreciated given my change in time zones and work schedule. Tanner was quite patient, as I was a novice and did not know what I was looking for--just that I wanted a camper to make travel nursing in remote areas safer and a bit more serene in a 3 week timeframe. Tanner was knowledgeable, personable, professional, and always available! He went above and beyond, I was beyond grateful that Tanner was there for each question, frustrating moment, and moment during the selection and finance process. Tanner excelled in finding the perfect camper for the client's needs, coordinating between departments, and maintaining exceptional customer service. A few times I wanted to chose another dealership or disregard this idea, but Tanner was truly the deciding factor! September was ray of sunshine in an otherwise stressful financing portion of the experience. She too was knowledgeable, helped me find options that best suited me in financing and RV coverage. After signing there is an extensive walk through to ensure I knew what every button operated, how to hook up to power/water/sewage, and troubleshooting tips. Despite how busy they were, I did not feel rushed in any part of pick up day. Fast forward, in my first week questions were eagerly answered over the phone no matter how many times I called. Later during my learning curve of driving an RV, I needed assistance from the parts and repair department-- Brad and Justin were shining stars! They alleviated my stress by meeting my urgency with urgency and professionalism, repairing what they could, and assisting with finding a repair shop and starting the estimates. Never once did they make me feel like i was not a priority, embarrassed or ashamed. They continued to extend that professional courtesy even afterwards. I am not excited to write this review. I generally try not to write negative reviews, but I have hit my limit with Happy Daze. TL;DR: Absolutely, do not buy anything from Happy Daze RV. You will need service and they will absolutely let you down and disappoint you at every turn. Our purchase experience in Oct 2021 was very good, Jason and team were very helpful and we got a very fair deal. Pick up day wasn't great, there were about 9 things that I found that had to be fixed during the walk-through. My strong advice here is to not sign the paperwork until after you do the walk-through. Essentially we already owned the RV the first time we got to walk it and find all the problems, not a good situation. Derek and the service team took care of us and after a couple hours we were able to leave with the 9 above things mostly fixed. Within 3 weeks of purchase we started having issues with the Schwintek slide mechanism not working correctly, it was popping and there were metal shavings coming from it. Back it went to the Happy Daze and they recommended full slide column replacement, after much back and forth, including having to pick it up for a trip and then bring it back, it was fixed after a month or so. I later discovered the ladder was damaged during the time at Happy Daze, which isn't surprising considering the crazy amount of RVs in the tiny lot that have to be moved around constantly. We then had good experiences with our 2400BH for next few months. July 2022, we were camping for the 4th and noticed our Furrion12v refrigerator wasn't cooling well. This is apparently a very common problem with these units. We limped it along for the trip and when we got home I did a bunch of testing, called Furrion for help and they said in the 1st year of the 2 year warranty I have to work with Grand Design, ugh, not looking forward to this. Also, our slide starting popping and creating metal shavings again. I called Happy Daze service and Alfred answered, I explained the situation and let him know we had our next camping trip in 5 weeks. He set an appointment for us to drop it off in 2 weeks, not great, but acceptable. I called Alfred 1 week after dropping it off and asked for the status, now is where things really go down hill. He said they haven't looked at it yet and they won't until it is "my turn," I asked when that would be, he said he didn't know. I asked how many RVs are in front of me, he said maybe 20. I mentioned again that we have a trip now in 2 weeks, he said they will try and look at the fridge. This is crazy to me, why would I drop my RV off if you aren't going to look at in the next day or two, what is the point of making an appointment? I let another 10 days go by and call again, no answer, I called more than 6 times over the course of 3 days, no answer. I left a voicemail, nothing. We are now 2 days from camping so I go to pick up my RV. Alfred is there, he says oh yeah, there are only a couple more in front of you at this point. Great, I need to collect it so we can go to our scheduled trip with everything still broken. It was in the farthest possible spot in the back, they had to move at least 6 other RVs to get to mine. One hour later I get to take my still broken, and now very dirty RV home and bring it back the following Monday. I am so mad at this point I could scream. I happened to run into Jason, who sold me the RV, less than 10 months ago. I explained my situation, he had no response, another customer came over and asked him a question and he took that opportunity to quickly get away from me. It is all very sad and maddening. This is not our first RV, we owned a Forest River Coachmen for 5 years that never once had to be serviced. Grand Design is advertised as a premium product and experience, I can say I will never buy one again. I love our RV, I love RVing, but the complete lack of customer service is extremely disappointing. I do want to say that Derek in the service department is an awesome guy, he recognizes me every time I come in (which is entirely too often), is super friendly and goes out of his way to try and make me feel better, he is very much one man alone. After a lot of searching we found the Happy Daze and decided to go there to see what they can offer us. Once we get there we were warmly welcomed and our sales person was Shelbie. She started presenting us the units. She showed us every single one that we asked, described the features and kindly answered all of our questions that came up. We were really satisfied with the service that we had received and came to the conclusion that we should start our RV journey with the Happy Daze! I went in to look at one specific tt the 2023 Grand Design 2400B I met with Lanzo he came out right away, super friendly, did not start with prying questions, and was not pushy. I really just wanted to see the tt in person, not thinking I would get the price I was aiming for on the first try. I didn't want to go back and forth with sales and with sales going to mgmt, and then coming back to me bs (we all know that game). I personally hate buying cars/RVs and usually just send my husband and tell him to keep me posted lol bc of that ridiculous tactic. You can buy here but the service is absolutely horrible. We have been trying to do the warranty work since January and the constant roll over of staff is horrible. Last time we had our RV in for four weeks and then when we picked it up they messed up our black tank reader and now it's been two weeks when they said it would take a day and guess what. My boyfriend bought a travel trailer from this place. And let me tell you folks about the experience he had. I have witnessed him struggle with these people at Happy Daze in Livermore since February of this year. He and I were so excited to get this travel trailer only to have issues from the first day it was picked up. He drove to pick up the trailer and took it home (we were so excited, I went over to see it that same day) Once he got the trailer home, he found out that they gave home the wrong trailer. The trailer was missing the entire dining area. I was so mad at him, but he had confidence that they would make things right. Boy was he wrong about these people of Happy Daze. Since then he has been dealing with everyone possible, even corporate, only to get the runaround. He took the trailer last month to get the dining set installed, the two doors entry fixed (won't close correctly), and some wood trim that was coming apart. They said they would just need the trailer for a couple of days. He kept calling for a status on the work, turns out their service department never touched the trailer, it never got serviced after being promised over the phone numerous times that they were working on it. Needless to say, it sat there at Happy Daze for a month until my boyfriend just went and picked it up last week. My boyfriend has been trying to get through to lying Derek, the manager, with no results or resolution. They basically just brush him off. They lie, avoid, and it is just about making that sale. Unethical, uncaring, money-hungry, unprofessional people. I am truly a caring person and hate seeing people being taken advantage of. I feel so sorry for my kind, sweet, caring boyfriend. He doesn't deserve this kind of treatment, especially when he works so hard for his money. I want to save people from this type of customer experience. This is not right. I had a good sales experience, but promised an update in my initial review after I experienced the service department. It's absolutely awful; do not buy an RV here. Out of the first approx. 1.5 years we have owned our RV it has spent approx. 8 months sitting on their lot waiting for repairs- and a significant additional time waiting for appointments for repairs. Our unit sat there the entire Summer, from May to September and ruined all of our travel plans. It was for some bolts missing from the frame and should not have taken anywhere near that long. We got it back in October and the slide got stuck out on the first trip we took. I immediately called and got an appointment for November and took it in. We just got it back yesterday (mid-February!!!) and not everything was fixed after ALL that time. Additionally, my DeWalt tools were stolen from the storage bay. I know they were there because the thief removed a carrying strap I had on one of the tools and left it behind. No one you call ever gives you a straight, consistent or honest answer that ever actually comes to fruition. They are always supposedly about to fix it or order parts, and the next time you call it never happened. This drags on for months and months. They also told me I would need to pay for some additional labor out-of-pocket, but I was advised by Grand Design that they had all ready paid for the job and not to give them any more money. RUN AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! There's a reason the people working there are different every time you go in. I want to be clear this review is about THIS dealer, NOT Grand Design. I haven't been entirely happy with the quality of our unit, but these are all things that could have been repaired quickly and simply. If you call Grand Design, my experience is that they approve warranty claims very quickly and without much trouble. As this unit wasted away on this dealers lot, Grand Design got very involved in trying to help me get it fixed and back in service. GD regularly called for updates, often more than once a week. When the dealer apparently didn't order parts in a timely manner, GD rush shipped them 3-day freight so I could get it back faster. The dealer made no real effort to rush. GD even offered compensation, which I didn't feel comfortable taking, but I though was a very sincere gesture on their part. The dealer denied having conversations with me to GD that we absolutely had and told GD that they would call me promptly with an update and when to pick it up, which never happened. GD is standing by their product and told me to just go pick the unit up, done or not, and take it to a 3rd party repair shop of my choice and they will cover the cost. read more

I was disappointed when then started a policy of working only on trailers they had sold which meant that I had to go elsewhere. A few months ago I needed a new battery. I called them, hoping that maybe they would have changed their policy... and they had. Christopher not only installed the battery. He discovered that the old battery had not been wired for the greatest effect... and that I needed a new switch. Done while I waited! Today I picked up the trailer after having them do my bi-annual inspection of all systems, seals, bearings, etc. and number of major repairs. Remington met me, both when I delivered the trailer and today. He was knowledgeable and friendly. He noticed some things that I had missed that needed attention and was willing to discuss the options that I wanted. The work was done well and in a timely manner. Happy Daze is so far at the other end of the spectrum that it's ridiculous. I've had to work with Remington several times while in the Livermore CA area as I zero out the maintenance issues on my RV prior to turning for the eastern seaboard. OK I've been to every HAPPY DAZE repair shop for warranty work in Northern California. I recently purchased my trailer a 345 grand design solitude from Livermore HAPPY DAZE before I took possession. They tried to put in a solar array and they screwed it up so bad I've never been able to properly use it after the sale, which they were more than happy to make, and they received their money, they dropped me like a hot potato, horrible customer Service. After the entire service department quit in Livermore I was sent to Ripon Happy Daze. They couldn't even nicely caulk the skirting on the trailer and they damaged the front end of my trailer some how, $1500 worth of damage. So, was recommended to take my trailer to Gilroy Happy daze and was told by service manager (Keagan @ Sacramento Happy Daze) that he would personally oversee the repairs particularly the solar system. They told me my trailer was ready and we could finally go on our trip to Canada. They sent me out on my vacation with a solar system that was not only wired incorrectly but was also dangerous to use, a fire hazard! Had to drive 2 hrs in Oregon to a solar professional that repaired my solar system enough to get us home at my expense. Drove to Sacramento Happy Daze to finally have all the warranty work completed and solar system wired correctly but after having my trailer for three weeks no work has been completed or even started on! I have reached out to the General Manager (RJ Lemke) twice by email to voice my concerns with no response. New buyers beware cause while your trailer is under warranty for a year good luck getting any work professionally done. We spent a ton of money on our trailer with piss poor customer relations. We had just recently purchased a new Solitude s-class 5th wheel 3550BH from them. What a wonderful experience!!! This place is definitely our only place we would recommend purchasing from. We have been to about 15 dealers from the tip of Oregon to Turlock over the last few weeks and by far the quality and customer service exceeded them all! All other places just wanted to sell us anything! With the help of HappyDaze we found out that it actually wasn't safe to pull this 5th wheel with our current truck. Well, our opinion of the Dealership has taken a 180 :( Sales staff is awesome and parts Manager Justin is awesome. When this place has money to make off of you, you will get attention. Now, supporting and caring for you after the deal, that's another story. Service can not keep up with the volume of Customers. They had our trailer for 12 days, and completed one hour of work on our punch list on our brand new 5th wheel, with no guarantee it would be ready for our upcoming trip, so we picked it up. The next available appointment to get warranty work done is 2 months away! The Service Mgr, Joe, informs us that the Mfg will not be willing to repair defects in the front cap of our rig that was noted pre-delivery and that they are not willing to rectify rear levelers that hit and bend after hitting any 5" standard driveway curb. We were told that the solution is to remove the feet for travel. Yeah, after spending this kind of money on a brand new 5th wheel, these people in their 60's (us), really want to be on our hands and knees doing that every time we hitch up :( read more

In Feb. 2022, I purchased a 245rl transcend travel trailer. I picked out a floor plan, paid for it, and was told to come back in three days to pick it up. I returned three days later, picked up the trailer that was ready to go. When I got home, and I went into the trailer and discovered they gave me the wrong floor plan! Thankfully I took pictures of the inside of the unit the day I purchased it. I immediately called Tanner, salesperson I was working with. He asked me to send the pictures I took the day I purchased the trailer. He proceeded to tell me Derick the manger would need to get involved. A few days later, I spoke with Derick and he told me he would need to order the parts from the factory. He asked for two months to get all the parts her needed. I called back in April, 2022 to get an updated on if the parts were received and still no parts. He asked for some more time..... Finally he gave me a date of July 26, 2022 to take my trailer back to make the repairs and said it would take ONE day to make the changes. I waited two weeks to hear from Derrick, but never heard from him. I called to get an update, and was told they hadn't even started working on it. They told me to call back in a week, which I did and spoke with Dallas. I asked him for an update on the trailer and he told me Derrick hadn't even ordered the parts yet. I told Dallas to have my trailer ready because I was on my way to pick it up. I was hoping to use my trailer during the summer with my grandchildren but was unable to. This experience has been the worst of my life! Save yourself a headache and DO NOT deal with Happy Daze RV! I am in the process of hiring an attorney to make sure this issue is resolved! read more

Interesting experience here with these folks. During the late afternoon, I called to inquire about a model that their website showed as "on order." I was specifically curious to know if it was equipped with a king or queen bed. The person who answered the phone turned out to be the sales manager. She was very nice and personable. Turns out that she lives in the same town as I do and the call ended quite nicely with the last thing said that she would call me back with the info. Fast forward one day: I hadn't heard back from her. I would have thought that she would have gotten back with me in the morning. No big deal, I was in Livermore having lunch with a friend and figured I'd stop by to meet and see her. I walked into the sales office and asked for her. I was told, "She's doing some work right now." A junior level person asked what I wanted and why I was there. I explained that I was on the phone with his sales manager the day prior and was looking to see if she was able to get the answer that I was looking for. He passed me off to another guy where I had to start over. I didn't like feeling unwelcome and having to justify why I was there. Here's the kicker. The sales manager was there in an office that was clearly within hearing range. Every time the phone rang, I could hear answer the calls with a regular corporate answer. I know she heard and I would have appreciated her to poke her head out and get her people on the right track. Further questions from the guy I was passed off to irritated me further and I ended up walking out. I told him that I was perfectly okay with going to Sacramento which prompted him to question where I lived. We were on no such terms for that yet. Heck, I'm willing to drive to Los Angeles for the right RV. I felt totally unwelcome from the moment I entered. The two fellows I had to justify my existence with were both in the same office that the manager was, "doing some work" in. Not sure why the sales manager chose not to help me. I just had my 2014 Grand Design fifth wheel work completed by the maintenance shop. These folks have excellent customers service and great follow-up on the work. We are happy with the customer service here. Not only did we get support and answers to our questions from our initial sales consultant, Galen, but Branden at the Sacramento location was also very helpful and patient in answering lots of questions by phone while we were shopping around for a Class B. Doug completed all the paperwork quicker than we expected. It was a smooth process with no surprises. My husband and I were pleased with the thorough walk-through when we picked up our new 2017 Pleasure-Way Lexor one week later. Joe greeted us when we arrived and let us know what to expect. We didn't have any wait time. Jimmy was patient and took the time to explain all the features of our new motorhome. The buying process was smooth from start to finish. I have been to Happy Daze RV many times looking for my next RV that I plan to purchase in the very near future. My experience is that they are friendly when it comes to the topic of selling you a new recreation vehicle. However, when I tried to get my current recreational vehicle repaired, they said they only give service to people who have made RV purchases from them. That was a big turn off to me, because I am not quite in a position that that I can sell my current recreational vehicle, but I need service on it to be able to sell it. I will not be doing further business with this location, because they refused to service my current RV, since I did not purchase it from them. *Update: in response to comment by the manager, there was nothing about prioritizing RV buyers. They flat out refused to service non RV buyers. It wasn't like I had to wait longer to get service (which I would have been OK with). They wouldn't allow me to make an appointment and refused to service my RV, since I did not buy it from them. I had to drive to Morgan Hill to get service, because there are no other RV service places near me. read more
