Our server greeted us and sat us at a small table outside; it was a beautiful evening and a great way to people watch. We ended up talking to a young man and his daughter from Germany sitting at the restaurant next door as only a small barrier between our tables. We started with the hot and sour soup which was delicious! Our crispy duck was served next and was shredded for us; our server made our first pancake. The rice, pork and chicken was next; all was quite tasty! The standard policy is to pay upfront.

I had a craving for aromatic crispy duck with pancakes and this place caught my eye as it had them hanging in the window and was also quite busy. I managed to get a small table outdoors which was very nice, great atmosphere watching people go by in Chinatown. I ordered a crispy half duck which was brought to the table where it was shredded. It was served with thin pancakes, hosin sauce, and some thin slices of cucumber and green onion. Half a duck was £20 which I thought was fairly reasonable. Was tasty and exactly what I asked for. Point taken off as toilets were not the cleanest, they asked me to pay up front, and would not accept Amex.

Good place to get a quick fix to your cravings for Chinese food. We got the typical Chinese food: fried rice, fried noodles, Chinese vegetables (gai lan), and fried dumplings. Their menu is quite extensive and they even offer a great selection of dim sum. As I grew up eating Chinese food in Vancouver, BC, I'd have to say that the food here is quite mediocre. It definitely satisfied my Chinese food cravings during my travels in the UK, but it wasn't something to call home about. All the dishes I ordered met my expectations, but did not exceed them. Unfortunately, I didn't read reviews before coming here so I didn't order the Peking Duck, which seems to be a winner. Perhaps next time I visit London, I'll try their Peking Duck and might then give this review a couple extra stars. Staff very friendly, restaurant overall clean.

Popped in here with a friend for dinner and ordered the crispy duck sharer menu. Everything was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. Perfect crispy duck, sumptuous dim sum, and two meat dishes to finish. Plenty of great food for a great price. Absolutely recommend.

Walking past Haozhan today, a large sign caught my eye.Yup, they're re-inventing themselves again. Located on the main Chinatown drag of Gerrard Street, they offer high class inventive Chinese cuisine in the Hakkasan style but also with the attendant Hakkasan prices, with the result that it was a 'treat restaurant' Thye've brought out a cheaper lunch menu in the hope of tapping into more everyday customers. There are about 25 dishes on this menu with starters around £3.60 and one plate mains at around £7 However, their ambition to serve Chinese cuisine with a twist remains. My starter of pan fried scallops was outstanding - 3 large juicy scallops were served up with sweet chilli sauce and topped with a sprinkling of deep fried Greek katafi pastry shards and a twist of lime. My main of jasmine tea smoked pork ribs were served atop some braised thin egg noodles with Chinese greens. The ribs were nice and tender though I struggled to identify the jasmine tea element With this more reasonably priced lunch menu, I may come here more often rather than just for a treat

Surprisingly, this is one of the few restaurants in Chinatown having the healthy dish of steamed chicken on its menu, although our craving for the delicious Singapore Hainanese chicken rice was far from being satisfied. Overall, in terms of both the food and the service, this place is above average for SoHo, although - except for a few higher-end, dim sum-only joints - NO restaurant in Chinatown qualifies as really good and refined.

With late night options in China town shrinking on a Sunday night we ended up here. Very disappointing - the food, crispy chilli beef, char sui (pork), prawn noodles and egg fried rice arrived over cooked and tepid, their solution? Microwave in front of us. This was factory feeding at its worst. So many others to choose from....

Friends in town so decided to give this a try as I've read good reviews. Crispy duck pancakes were delicious and our meals were high quality and very flavourful, presentation was definitely considered by the kitchen staff. The wait staff was extremely friendly and attentive. This is a level above the other dime-a-dozen Chinatown restaurants -- I'll definitely be back. If you have a choice, ask to sit upstairs -- much nicer!!

Food wise, I wouldn't it is the best Chinese I have ever been to but it's very good food and worth going if you want upscale Chinese without the crazyness of central London/Chinatown. We shared for starters the spicy sechuan aurbergine (a must order), mushroom buns (as nice as the ones from aWong) deep fried green beans (also a must) and the crispy duck ( Im never a fan but aWong and Kym's probably have the best ones and amazing plum sauce) For mains we tried the three treasure (soya chicken, iberico pork char sui and crispy pork). I think my favourite was the crispy pork. Its a good way of tasting all the rotisserie but if you are super hungry I would recommend ordering 2 of the rotisserie separetely. As for desserts, we tried the Pineapple bun and the cherry ice cream both lovely. Awong is definitly the king of custard. although I think the custard bun from aWong just beat everything lolol.

Victoria set the stage and steered me to a sampling that did not disappoint. Egg roll - not your typical egg roll, enshrined in a crispy rice shell, lightly fried to perfection, accompanied by a tangy sweet dipping delight. Followed by the mushroom steamed buns, and capped off by the most spectacular pork and shrimp boa boa, perfectly spicy, fully satisfying, a work of art. The service was spectacular and matched the experience. Make this a stop on your foodie tour of London.

It is an unassuming little Chinese take away place squashed between a men's barber shop and a second hand watch store and until I stopped in front of it by chance, I thought the barber shop and watch shop were direct neighbours! When I walked in I instantly thought of 2 films: 'Big Trouble in Little China' and 'Blade Runner'. Why? Honestly, I couldn't put my finger on it but I think it was because this is a tiny, teeny, place that looks family run and authentic. Not sure what I'm babbling on about here, I'll just get to the food... They have a lunch menu that is just £6, for which you get a starter and a main course with your choice of boiled or egg fried rice or noodles. The food is cooked freshly in front of you, is quite copious and tastes pretty damn good. I can thoroughly recommend the prawn sesame toast as a starter. Oh, important to mention that they have trouble getting more than 3 customers in the place at a time, be ready for a tight fit while you wait. A good take away lunch spot for those not wanting to settle for a sandwich, crisps and a can of pop - let's face it, that will cost you more than £6 at lunch in this part of town!
