I am not the type to complain, but I was so disappointed in the service I received from Hansen's, and I don't want others to have to go through what we went through. I hired Hansen's to cut down multiple large trees in my yard. During the bid appointment, Kyle said that we could sell our wood after, and that he had a contact that buys timber to sell to the lumber yard, and he would connect us. Our invoice says they would cut our wood to "marketable sections". After they fell all the wood (and after we had stupidly paid them in full with cash), I called and texted both Kyle and Warren multiple times in attempts to get the contact who would buy our wood. Warren would say I had to talk to Kyle and Kyle wouldn't return texts, and his phone went straight to voicemail. I never got that contact. Desperate, I googled and called three different log buying companies, and they all said that the wood was not prepared properly to purchase, and it was not placed in ways that they could access to take away anyway. I reached out to Hansen's again to ask them to just cut the wood into firewood sections and chip some so that it was more manageable for me as a normal person to give away or move and so that giant felled trees and heavy cords were not blocking our yard and our neighbors yard. They did not return my call or texts again. I treated them fairly and was extremely patient at every stage, and I am still baffled in why they did this- don't think anyone would reasonably expect their yard to be left like this after a tree service company has been there. If they made a mistake and what they thought at the quote stage about having timber to sell at the end was not accurate, they should have worked with me to resolve and figure out a solution instead of just ignoring and not answering calls and leaving me with a giant mess to figure out. They come off as nice and talk a good talk but actions speak louder than words, and I don't think this was acceptable way to treat a customer. Also there are numerous other things I am not mentioning- they cracked the asphalt of the road in front of my house/neighbors driveway, late for multiple appointments, first quote they sent me was almost double what he told me in person and had to fix it, etc. In retrospect, there were many signs of unprofessionalism from the beginning that I wish I had done more research. So nothing against the company it's self but one of the employees in the company driving a company vehicle was very rude in a store saying unnecessary comments in the store to not only me but another customer in the store. You figure you would be more professional while representing your company. I got ahold of the owner warren and he was very helpful on resolving this problem that I had and reassured me that the problem would be handled. Very pleasant person to talk to. read more

So this is an update for my previous review: I got a call from the contractor a few weeks ago to repair my roof which got damaged when the tree was taken down. Despite the fact that the contractor himself got a back injury last week on my scheduled day of the 18th. He showed up today on his first day off bed rest with a new hired employee and repaired the roof! read more

Was almost run off of RT 16 by one of their drivers driving a company vehicle, today 12/31/17 @1:00 PM. They were cutting off other vehicles, tail-gating and traveling 20+ mph above the speed limit. I would never trust Hansen's Tree company to remove a tree from my property if they can't drive around town without almost killing other drivers. read more

Hansen Tree took the trees down and cleaned up the branches. They didn't tell me they hit my roof and gutter with a limb, left my parking poles across the street on my neighbors property, left some debris raked up in a pile on the side of the street and made no attempt to fix my damaged chain link fence. No respond to voicemail messages or emails regarding my concerns. I would not recommend this company. read more

I had a small tree partially come down during a windstorm. Arbor Steve came out a short time later and immediately pointed out a large tree I had not noticed that had also partially fallen and was headed right for my house! We scheduled the trees to be cut down a short time later and it is a huge relief to know they are taken care of. The area where the trees were looks great. The service was fast and affordable. Also, the technicians (Hansen's Harbor Tree) were friendly and took the time to answer all of my questions. I would use Hansen's Harbor Tree service again without hesitation. We have a lot of trees around our house and we will call Steve Cushing to come out and advise us if we have any concerns. Thank you! read more

I just want to say that Warren, Tyler and their crew did an absolutely perfect job with removing 2 downed trees that I had. One was a 70' Douglas Fir and the other was a 75' Hemlock where the tree was leaning and it roots were uprooted. Tyler and his crew came out and did the job very fast and efficient. Extremely unprofessional. Driver of a company truck acted recklessly, I politely messaged the company to let them know and they blocked me.

Hansen came today and finish a fairly quick job. They did more cleanup than we expected. We appreciate their quickness in coming to give us a quote and scheduling a day to do the work. Well done, quite affordable. read more

I called them in Aug to give me a quote on trimming trees and cutting a few down that were not huge. We made an appt. I was home early but they never showed. I am not bothering to call back after I read the reviews. I made sure I picked a local company too. read more

I emailed Hansen's through their website about getting an estimate to take down a dead tree in my yard. It took 3 days for someone to call me back, but we worked out a weekend appointment for the estimate, which was great. Except nobody showed up or called to say they couldn't make it... read more

We chose Hansen's Harbor Tree Service to remove over 30 trees after evaluating bids from 5 companies. Our large Douglas Firs were as tall as 200 feet and were just too close to buildings, drain fields, power lines, paved parking area and a busy road. The entire crew was courteous and highly skilled, with the safety of people and property as their highest priority. Hansen's was reasonably priced and fully delivered on an enormous job when others could not. We will be hiring this hard-working company in the future for our tree safety and care needs. read more

My husband called Hansen's Harbor Tree Service for an estimate for the pruning of several of our trees. When the arborist came out to examine our trees which my husband has pruned over the years, he said that our sweet gum had been pruned incorrectly (which we knew; that's why we called an arborist!) The arborist said that his training as an arborist would not allow him to prune the tree as my husband had. He said the tree was slowly dying. He said he could prune it properly. We appreciated the arborist's plan and professed expertise. We also have a fig tree which was hanging too far out over our neighbor's driveway and ours. We wanted to have it cut back and thinned out. We hired Hansen's to prune those two trees and several others. On the appointed day, the arborist and two other workers drove out to our place to do the work. The three spoke together, then the arborist drove away. By the end of the afternoon, the sweet gum had been severely topped and not one branch thinned. The job was done much more poorly than what my husband had done in the past, which seemed so ironic since the arborist had been so sure that he could do a fine job of pruning the tree. The fig had been cut back on two sides and not thinned with future fruit bearing in mind. The other trees were trimmed adequately. As a bonus, one of the workers handed us four round wood coasters which he had cut from the topped sweet gum. We will not be hiring Hansen's again. read more

A tree came down on our house during the storm on Saturday Oct 25th late in the afternoon and damaged the roof. I called Hansen's and they responded quickly, and removed the tree and covered the hole with a tarp. They were professional, prepared to work in the dark and stormy night, and concerned about our safety. They did a GREAT job and I recommend them highly. read more
