Unfortunately, the drywall repair wasn't to our liking. We hired Miguel to complete the drywall repair and to paint the ceiling afterwards so it matches. Overall, the painting was 10/10. The repair that Miguel completed was a lot better than before. Prior to finishing up the initial painting, Miguel had agreed to come back if we saw an issue with the drywall after the paint was dry. After pointing out an issue with the drywall to him via text, he agreed that some additional work was needed and was willing to come back to get it done the following Monday. After trying to confirm with him if he was still coming on Monday, he pretty much ghosted me and did not respond to my message. I tried following up 2x but no response. Overall, the painting was 10/10. Would I feel comfortable hiring him again? Probably not. If you see something that you're not 100% satisfiedyou run the risk of being ghosted by Miguel if you asked him to come back.

Due to dry rot, this also required carpentry work. In just about a week, they replaced about 40-50 rotten boards, painted the deck wood and walls, did other cosmetic repairs, and ensured everything was moved back to where it was when they were done. Their communication was on point and they always showed up when they said they would. Matt goes beyond as well. He makes sure you're aware of all options on how what kind of finishes are possible and why any might be considered. He addressed structural issues caused by the original builders. He also approaches the project in a manner that ensures the rest of the house won't get damaged during the work (in this case, hoisting all the new and old wood off the roof via rope). I reached out to several painting companies via Yelp and Fly High Painting was not only the most responsive, but also provided a good value for the amount of painting work done. Other painting companies had similar estimates but I felt that Fly High Painting seemed more knowledgable and also they were very good at paying attention to the details. When completed with the work, they cleaned up everything and because they put in the effort in prepping, there were no paint drips anywhere. Fly High Painting provides quality work and were very communicative and paid attention to the small details. If you want quick and sloppy work, you can go somewhere else. But if you're looking for a quality paint job, contact Ivan and Raul as they will get the job done right. I will be using Fly High Painting for all my future painting needs.

Aaron at Red Brush gave us one of the most customer-centric experiences we've ever had. His rates…read morewere reasonable, and he refuses to half-do a job - the pride he takes in his work is clear. To provide an example of his customer-focus, Aaron painted our house right before we put it on the market. The night before it was due to be shown, a different contractor came in and pressure-washed into our siding. With rainscreen, that's a no-no. Aaron came right back out again at a moment's notice, and redid the areas where the paint had been impacted. No questions, no fuss, no haggling. And it looked great. We couldn't recommend him more strongly.

First: the lead on the job, Aaron, was always very polite, patient, and helpful. He and his workers…read moredid an excellent job at each stage of the process. The power washing was thorough; the stain is nice and even; no stain got onto the white walls of our roof deck. If you asked me to evaluate Red Brush on the quality of their output alone, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a higher rating. But their communication is really, really bad. There were so many screw-ups in communication that I can't even remember all of them anymore. The big problem was that they would make changes or decisions without contacting us. Every time, we would have to call them to find out what was going on, usually because they missed their own deadlines. Some examples: 1) Our initial contact was great until we asked for a timeline, and then they stopped responding. I understand that contractors have flexible schedules by necessity (esp. due to weather), but they simply stopped communicating with us about it. We weren't able to get a response nailing down dates & times until the week prior. 2) Before they came to do the power washing, Red Brush told my wife that they would stop by "sometime over the weekend" to do color matching on the stain and collect a deposit. They did not specify when, so we were home all weekend waiting. They never showed up, never called, didn't answer their phones when we called. 3) We scheduled them to do a power washing on Monday 9/23, do a first stain on 9/24, and a second on 9/25. I took time off from work to be home for this. Halfway through the day on Monday, nobody had shown up, so I called them. Their office told me that they weren't actually planning to come out that day; they were going to do the power washing on 9/24 and the earliest they would be able to stain was 9/26. Had I not called, we never would have known. Wasted several vacation days. 4) After the first surprise, I repeatedly asked our contact in their main office to send me confirmations in writing via email. Every time, she promised to do this, but only actually did so 1 time out of 3-4 asks. This suggests to me that this communication weakness is a problem they know about and are not planning to fix. 5) They ended up not doing the second stain on 9/25 due to weather. It was pouring for several days, so that made perfect sense to us, but we asked them to let us known when they would be back. They agreed--and then never told us. I had no idea they'd been back at all until a couple days ago, I decided to check the deck, and the second coat was on it. ------------ If you are only looking for a quality product and do not need or care about the details, Red Brush might work for you. But if you're like me and expect a modicum of professionalism from the people you pay, it's hard to recommend them. Despite the quality work they did for us, I doubt we'll contact them next time.
