As I may have stated previously, this is my favorite type of restaurant, harkening back to my childhood in rural Vermont. Today is sunny and warm... a perfect day for a country drive and a perfect chance for me to try Hank's. I came for lunch this trip and was not disappointed. The food is excellent, the portions generous, the service fast and friendly, and the prices reasonable. Hank's is a place I will want to return to again and again!

The ice cream is delicious better than any other place around. Also the all the girls that work there are super nice. Hanks definitely knows what there doing with ice cream.

Fried whole belly clams, onion rings, coleslaw, roll.

Fried clam bellies delicious, sweet and breading is light and I was happy with the portion size. Onion rings handcut and also delicious. Chocolate banana milkshake was large and yummy. Only complaint was the coleslaw was salty but I think that maybe just a fluke where someone grabbed salt instead of sugar while making it and I will test that theory next time I visit.

For my fall New England trip, Hank's is one of the first place I visited. A real Plainfielder for years recommended that I try this place, so at my first opportunity I got a chocolate/vanilla swirl with a butterscotch dip. The dip was the best part of the dessert. This place is super cute and an icon of Plainfield! FYI... This place is cash only.

We only went to Hanks for Ice Cream, and only here because Buttonwood homemade ice cream had a line about 50 people long. We were a bit disappointed that only soft serve was available at a "dairy bar". Choc, van, twist, coffee and strawberry were available. All of the topping options you would expect (no hot butterscotch!) , and birthday cake hard dip. I will say that the fried clams looked yummy, and the service was great. Would I rather have homemade ice cream? Yep, any day. If I had kids who just wanted ice cream though, this place would be ok. There is a swingset to use and porta potties in the parking lot. The menu photo is attached in case you are wondering what is available. Only reason I did not give a higher vote was because I felt foiled by a dairy bar with 5 (limited) flavors of soft serve.

Oh my god this place!!! Soooo good!! This was my first summer trying this place and wow!! I've gone back now 5 times lol the portions are awesome!! If you love lobster rolls once you have there's you'll never get another one elsewhere! Just wait till you see the portion and the price!! No one compares, end of story!! I've had the chicken tenders, lobster roll and clam strips and everything has been fantastic!!

Bacon double cheese burger and chilly cheese fries, delicious. It's worth the wait. People told me the seafood is really good.

Cute place, but ice cream had no flavor. I got the twist with chocolate shots, and it was all very bland.

My boyfriend & I sat outside because inside was noisy. A little into our meal a group of 6 sat outside and they were non stop swearing & yelling making it super unpleasant. The food and cocktails are way too good for the bar vibe that it is. Either way, I highly suggest ordering from there- if loud bars & drunk people are your thing then eat there, if not get it to go. We started with 2 cocktails which were amazing. My boyfriend & I both got stuffies and they were cooked perfect and tasted great. I ordered angel hair Alfredo with crispy chicken because someone else posted that on here & it was the best Alfredo I've ever had. My boyfriend got the lobster roll special with homemade kettle chips. He was so impressed. And we took fried Oreos home to go because it was my birthday & we couldn't stand the customers next to us.

To go customers check your orders before you leave. Taco Salad $21 for a cereal bowl portion of lettuce with a tbs of dried cold plain ground beef no salsa no flavor. Tossed it out. New England clam chowder was chicken broth with a splash of milk some undercooked potatoes and a dash of clams. Again no flavor. The french fries were also undercooked cold in the center with a taste suggesting they had been sitting around awhile. From this experience we dont recommend dining at this establishment.

I look forward to testing more of their menu. The fries were well seasoned and perfectly crispy. I love the rolls and it's even better that it wasn't hot dog buns!! Each time I've been heading out, I'd tell myself, "I'll stop on the way back." But every time, I'd be so tired from my ride or just really wanted to get into a hot shower, that I'd murmur to myself, "Next time." Well, after this scenario played itself out for the umpteenth time, I decided to ride out to it by way of Arcadia. OMFG! Was this place ever so good! The absolutely best French Fries I've ever eaten and after looking at the menu, I can understand why. Being a small food truck, they probably only have one fryolator. So everything gets cooked in the oil they use. The Hot Dog I ordered was the BBQ Dawgg. A beef Hot Dog wrapped in Bacon and then deep fried until the Bacon is crispy. Into a tasty, but not overly huge Bun and topped with grilled Onions and BBQ Sauce. So you get the Bacon fat and Hot Dog fat mixing in with whatever kind of oil they are using, which imparts all those flavors into the French Fries. Service is fast and friendly.
