Did a call in order for the 2 fish and 6 shrimp platter with shrimp fried rice! Calling in was simple and easy and the guy taking my ordered suggested the cheesy boudin balls as an appetizer. Upon arrival, walked in to a nice aesthetic and there were maybe only 3/4 customers present due to it being 4pm on a work day. The food was tasty and they fried the fish to perfection. We showed up at 8:44, apparently last call was 8:45 everyone in your establishment was rude not wanting to serve us. Maybe put out a sign or something! Also teach your employees who answer the phones, that if someone calls at 8 and your place of business closes at 9, only make sense to tell them what time last call is. Pay attention to what you're paying for. I went here today and purchased 4 pounds of boiled crawfish. I ordered it to dine in. When I got my order I noticed the bag was half filled with boil juice. When I poured the juice out it seemed like I had waaaay less than 3 pounds. I went to the counter and asked the young later if the juice was weighed with the crawfish to equal 4 pounds. Really good food!! We got 5 lbs of crawfish and the combo number 5 that came with shrimp and snow crab. The prices are a little high but with the start of crawfish season it is expected. Amazing customer service from all of the employees. Several people were coming by and asking if we needed anything else and refilling our drinks. Great establishment and very clean environment. Ok......sooooo, I can't remember a time where I've been so upset about a meal experience, that I relished and replayed the nightmare over in my head, over, and over again. So yesterday, on 11/12/20 I was up north for a photo shoot. I wanted to take my employee to a congratulatory meal for a successful shoot, and I asked her what she wanted. She said crab legs, and immediately we searched Yelp. Hank's in Katy is one of my favorite for delicious crawfish and crab legs, so I assumed Hank's up north would be the same. Uummmm, yeah...that wasn't the case. So when we come in, it seriously looks like a hole in the wall. They have limited drink offerings and the frozen drinks weren't ready except for one. I can't remember what it was called, but I ordered it, and it tasted like a virgin slushy. 1st strike. My guest specifically asked about the size of their crab legs, and said if they were small she would send them back. The server ensured us that they had crab legs with a lot of meat in them. They were running a special, I believe it was three clusters for like $22.99. We both ordered the special. We also orders a half dozen oysters, and gator bites. Oysters and gator bites took a while to arrive but they were delicious. The crab legs, which normally take minutes to prepare took a pretty long time. I had to get my employee to the airport, so we were a little pressed for time. When we received the crab, we were disgusted. I have never felt so disrespected before in my life. These crab legs were so tiny, they should have been thrown back in the ocean, those poor babies. The couldn't have been a pound. To boot, they were overcooked, so what little meat they did yield, was stuck to the shell, making it a battle to extract. They came with no corn or potatoes as they do in Katy, just the baby legs. We honestly didn't have time to send them back and order something else given our time restraints, but I did mention to the server that she lied to us, lol, and these were the tiniest, overcooked crab legs that I've ever eaten. She said she was sorry, most people love their crab legs. No manager was called, nothing was done to make us whole. So while I don't like leaving bad reviews, this one deserved it. We were so upset, we couldn't stop talking about it, and left Hank's hungry. On my drive back home to Katy, I was telling my husband about my experience and it made him crave Hank's in Katy. We went there and received drinks with alcohol in them, full sized crab legs with corn and potatoes, and left with smiles and full bellies. I don't know why Houston likes to add all these odd seasonings to their food--minced garlic and a sauce in boiled seafood, spices in Shrimp Fried Rice...I don't get it. I've been coming to this FM 1960 location since 2019, and they've never disappointed me. Whether you call before or order in person, they make sure you're taken care. One of the few places in the city that actually does crawfish. You're not going to get unseasoned day crawfish with a bunch of season salt thrown on top (like a lot of these other establishments). There crawfish is not only seasoned to perfection but it's full of juice. I'll go on record and say BEST crawfish in the city (and I eat a lot of crawfish) I personally always choose to get mine extra spicy with garlic, but you can get different flavors and little to no spice levels if you choose. No one and I mean no one had better butter sauce than them. A lot of crawfish places literally just bring you butter with no type of taste, but not here. My latest visit I decided to sit in and the gentleman who was our server was kind and efficient. I would definitely recommend this location and business to anyone. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is because my waitress was great. Myself and four coworkers arrived approximately five minutes prior to then opening. We waited until the opened and were the first ones there and seated. We put in our drink orders which the waitress brought us promptly. By 12:10 we all put our orders in. I ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell as an appetizer along with a pound of garlic butter spicy crawfish and a small bowl of the gumbo. Approximately 12:45 I received my gumbo, which was very tasty. The chicken was hard to chew but the crab meat was perfect. About 10 minutes later I received the crawfish. The flavor was spicy but it was lacking something. I could have gotten past the bland flavor but the crawfish itself was mushy. Yuck! My waittress kept assuring me that the oysters would be out soon, however at 1:10 I requested to just cancel the order of oysters. I'm not sure how a raw appetizer that requires no cooking or much prepwork, never made it out within the hour I had been sitting there. It was disappointing to say the least considering that was the main reason I went to a seafood restaurant. A co-worker ordered a chicken poboy. At 1:00, an hour after we had been there, it still had not made its way to the table. He was forced to cancel his order and stop at McDonald's on the way back to work. That is unacceptable. Hank's could have at least attempted to reconcile this bad experience, but didn't even offer a discount. I will not be back and neither will anyone else who dined with me for lunch. read more

This is my second review. I gave y'all another chance because the food is good besides y'all's frozen crawfish. (My last experience was 10.99 lb crawfish during season and it was frozen, I was really upset because that's almost double you pay anywhere for FRESH CRAWFISH.) This time was your customer service. I called in my order and the women on the phone made me feel like an inconvenience & bother to her. I literally order 1 meal and was acting as if I put in 6 orders. Even after all the attitude I said thank you before I hung up and she said "yeah". Got the same attitude when I picked up my order. I didn't catch her name because they don't wear name tags but she was on the wall posted as "employee of the month". If this is what you consider a top employee maybe you should consider being in a different business that isn't based around customers. As a customer we already pay way over price for what your serving, at minimum you could give good customer service. I don't trust people with that type of attitude handling my food at all. I have definitely been here before and it was a pretty decent experience however after this visit, it's becoming more questionable. This location is located in shopping center on 1960 and i45 in the PetsMart shopping lot. After entering the door, there was one hostess who was at the door. She was attending to someone ahead of us. She had to leave her station and came back 5 minutes later. The line was building up behind me to the outside where people were starting to cram up. After she seated us... It took about 15 min for the hostess (not the waitress.. But HOST) to come place orders for our drinks. She came up realizing that no one came to our table. People that arrived after us Had their orders taken before us. The waitress finally came about 30 minutes and then took our order without editing anything down and proceeded to fuck up our order as she was standing there. Of course, our food order was incorrect when when she came to the table with our food. I ordered SPICY crawfish and not once did I receive a refill. They had so many people working for a small place.
