On the side was sweet potato fries. 40 minutes later my order showed up double bagged and stapled closed. So I open the first bag to see the inner bag was already starting to drip. That's a good sign. Because that lamb burger was surprisingly juicy lol. I really enjoyed the taste and texture. At one point I wasn't sure if I was gonna be able to finish it all in one setting. The one thing that really stood out to me was their onion rings, like how can you mess that up? The onion rings were breaded to the MAX, it feels like eating just batter. I think those "other guys" specialty burger chain have met their match! I wandered on over here while I was doing some shopping at the nearby and I honestly had no idea that they had even opened. Luckily it was about that time, and my stomach was starting to let me know it was time. After checking out the menu board, I wasn't quite sure about what to get, so I simply ordered their regular hangry burger. They have the aesthetics down. Big letters, attractive decorations, but sadly, that's all Hangry Burger is. Their burgers range from $12-$15 and definitely not worth it. In all honesty I think the chicken strips were the worst I've ever had, they were soooooo incredibly dry that they were inedible and I ended up throwing them away. I had been waiting to try this place when it first opened, and they advertised a grilled bun on the seoul burger. Sadly, I don't work in Va as often as I used to, so this was my first try. The bun on this one is soggy and inedible; the meat is very pink too. It might not have been bad if the bun had been grilled? I also ordered the spicy fries, bengali hot sauce. The sauce was AMAZING, and the fries were good, too. I was fortunate enough to get an invite to their soft opening. Let's start from the outside: our time slot was after dark and their sign was very easy to see from the street. They're conveniently located in the plaza ACROSS from Springfield Town Center (by the Home Depot). Walking in, this place is very bright, most likely due to all of the pop art on the walls (by a LOCAL artist, btw). We ordered at the counter and then took seats at the marble bar to have some cocktails and wait. They have several different cocktail options, all with 'Hangry style' names. My husband had the (H)angry (H)ombre (dark & stormy) and I had the Cute-cumber Mint Gin Fizz Lemonade. Both were tasty. The place was full of other invitees when we sat down, but that didn't stop the HB staff from kicking out our food within 10-15 mins. Let's start with the fries. We both got the seasoned fries (why would you not?!), but they do have a few other fry options. This seasoning is not like any seasoned fry I've had. It was spicy and savory, and had a wee bit of a kick. It's apparently the chefs secret blend. Secrets out, these fries are frickin delicious! We were also given small samples of a couple of their spicier dipping sauces: their salsa verde (the part of my that grew up in the Southwest was VERY happy), and the Bengali hot. Oof. That BH is NICE (if you like super spicy). Also, it's kind of perfectly paired with my cucumber cocktail. Burgers- the hubs is a simple guy, he had a plain cheeseburger. His contribution to my review is "Their buns are so good! So soft!". I had the Unlawful Falafel. Listen, I've had a lot of falafel sandwiches, and this was one of the better ones. The patty was soft and super flavorful, and the hummus/ tahini combo was a really lovely touch. Overall, SUPER impressed with the staff (hustling and cleaning- really great) and the food/drinks. Decided to explore some restaurants while I was in the area and Hangry Burger did not disappoint. They are located in a strip mall across the street from the Springfield mall. When you walk in, you will definitely be captured by the amazing retro decor. The murals on the wall were amazing and definitely set the vibe.
