What a great breakfast! My husband and I both had the savory gruyere bread pudding. I'm sorry to have to let you know that it was a special because it was so delicious. The place is very small so we did have a half hour wait (definitely worth it) but it's at the airport so it was enjoyable. They even have stuff for kids to play on during the wait. Tried to eat at Hangar B today and it's the third time in a row we've been shut out. Every online source says they close at 2 today. We got there at 12:30 and they would not take our name because they are closing at 1 and already had people waiting. When I said, "but everything online says you close at 2," the employee said, "well it's February and we're closing at 1." She was curt and not at all apologetic for our inconvenience. We tried to eat here two summers ago but gave up after a 2-hr wait. Then another time we arrived only to see a note on the door that they were closed for a private function. That information was also nowhere online. So we're completely over it and won't be trying this restaurant again. They need to advertise and communicate their hours more accurately. We looked at their FB page, yelp and TripAdvisor...ALL said they were open til 2 today. read more

If this review were based on food alone, it would be 5 stars. The food really is great - my favorite is the artichoke hash with potato, onion and two poached eggs topped with garlic aioli. Unfortantely, it's the service that is the reason for the one-star rating. When you come to this restaurant for breakfast, expect to be there anywhere from 2 - 2 1/2 hours. I went this past weekend and was excited to bring friends from out of town for a great brunch to start our Chatham weekend. We were told that the wait for a table was 45 minutes so we decided to put our name in, grab coffee downstairs and wait it out. Around the hour and 5 minutes timeframe, one of the members in our party went up and asked for an update since it had now been 20 minutes past the expected wait time. He was told by the waitress there were 3 parties a head of us. Since we had already committed so much time, we decided to stay. After 5 more parties were called, he went up again and asked for an update in which the hostess rudely responded "Soon." We had now been waiting over an hour and a half - had the hostest been honest with the wait from the beginnning, we would not have stayed. Feeling frustrated, I went up and asked when our table would be ready and explained the situation. The hostest said our table was ready finally, so we sat down. As soon as we sat down, the hostest came back to our table and asked for the reservation name. I told her, and she said "Are you sure? Was it under another name? What did you say your name was again?" I'm not sure what she was insinuating, but to us it felt as though she was accusing us of using a different name to get a table, which is ridiclous considering our hour and 45 minute wait at this point to sit down. Everyone else who came well after us had already been seated and were eating at this point, so they may also have forgotten to write our name down or overlooked us, in which case the hostess would have been lying to my friend about our place in line. Either way, we were not happy. Our waitress wasn't much better, we had to ask for the bread and jam and she brought out 2 peices of bread for 4 people and no plates. At this point we were so hungry and frustrated, we ate the toast off of our napkins and didn't bother asking. I will say there is one woman who works there, a blonde, who is so friendly and always has a huge smile on her face. She took my coffee order down below and was very pleasant. The rest of the staff should follow her lead. I will not return to this restaurant, which is disapponting considering how good the food is. It's too bad that the employees working there are so rude otherwise it would be a really great place to stop when visiting Chatham. Unfortuantely I can't waste my entire day waiting for a plate of eggs and being spoken down to by every staff member there. I hope management has a talk with the employees and reiterate the value of customer service. read more

Cute little breakfast/lunch place located at the Chatham airport. Very small inside, but there is outside dining avaialble too, which helps IF the weather is nice. The service was as nice as can be. The food was what I'd call comfort food. The french toast is a must-try. It is served like bread pudding: A huge cube of soft bread nicely browned and topped with berries and syrup. I also tried red flannel hash which was new to me. Good stuff! read more

Love the food and the people too. Delicious choices and they taste like quality food- not cheap crap. Cool setting at the Chatham Airport. Minus one star for the wait- there is always a wait in the summer and often in the off season too. But clearly, the meal is worth the wait. Highly recommend. The hash browns with shredded beets is something I've only had here. They also serve amazing bread with three jams- rotate but the lemon curd one and he strawberries are tremendous. read more

I really wanted to give this place more stars but the value as just not there. Maybe if you went as just adults, where the menu items are bigger, but the kids menu is unreasonably expensive. The kids' pancakes were silver dollar pancakes (as the menu states) and they were true to size - very small. That's fine but there were only 5 for $7. My small 4-year old inhaled his and was still hungry! We had to order three extra sides (fruit, bacon and donuts) just to fill the kids up. When all was said and done, we spent, with tip, about $100. Hangar B is the new fantastic spot for breakfast, brunch and lunch. While you can get the usual fair (eggs, bacon etc.) Chef Brian Erskine comes up with new and creative dishes to excite the palate. The cheddar cheese and scallion biscuits, which he makes from scratch, are to die for. Fresh local produce is incorporated in his recipes, and the menu has daily specials, all at reasonable prices. Situated right at the Chatham Airport, the views of runway activity is of interest to young and old. I highly recommend it. read more

Surprisingly delicious and inventive food, and the setting can't be beat. We've been eating here since it first opened and have never had a bad experience. The food is SO good!! We've tried it all. Vegetarian eggs Benedict, the breakfast sandwich, huevos rancheros, pancakes for the kids with really good fruit as a side order are just some of our faves but you really can't go wrong. The playground and the planes (and the coffee and donuts downstairs) make the wait bearable for families. It's worth it regardless. Great food. read more

My breakfast companion and I arrived shortly after 9 on Sunday. We had about a 10 minute wait after which time we were seated at a round table for four with a nice view of the airport. Our server was very friendly and professional. The restaurant was full with a wait. I ordered the red flannel has and my companion ordered the eggs Benedict. Everything was perfect from the poached eggs, horseradish crème fraiche, the hash itself, and the sour dough bread. YUM! The eggs Benedict was perfect too. Four weeks ago someone who loves me very much purchased preserves from Hangar B and my taste buds will never settle for anything less ever again. I tried three amazing creations made on site by Brian, owner and chef of Hangar B. Here they are; the first, Raspberry Jam with Red Wine Vinegar.. Absolutely the best jam I've ever tasted, hands down, end of story. That was until I tried the Strawberry Jam with Thyme and Balsamic... It's so good you can eat it by the spoonful. Brian has expertly blended the unique ingredients so you get a sophisticated blend of flavor in every bite. The balsamic and the red wine vinegar somehow tame the sweetness giving you balance (and joy) in every mouthful. The last item was not a jam but a relish, it was Cranberry Relish with Pineapple and Black Pepper. This was chunkier and firmer bodied than the jams and is perfect on grilled fish or chicken. We know a vegetarian who uses it on her baked potato. it's sold in large glass jars and you get plenty for the money. Sure, it's small thing in the grand scheme of things but the jams from Hangar B make my days a little nicer, I'm duly impressed and pleased. Next, it's on to Chatham to dine in the restaurant and see where it all began...Thanks *** *** *** OK, I finally found and ate in the restaurant at the teeny, tiny Chatham airport. (I'm a life long South Boston resident who lives a second away from Logan, so CQX is tiny.) I climbed the backstairs and got a seat after the Sunday rush. Hangar B is open, bright and very clean with large windows giving diners a front row seat to the active runways. The day we were there, the weather was Gray, raw and perfect for a hot breakfast. I was not disappointed. I ordered the coffee and enjoyed it so much I had a second. It's roasted locally and was delicious. The menu was full of amazing and unique items but I finally chose the Red Flannel Hash with two poached eggs, toast and a delicate horseradish cream sauce (there's a proper word for it but I can't remember, sorry) Oh Lord, someone slap me, please.. Why can't we have restaurants like this where I live? Breakfast can often mean greasy spoon, heavy fare but not at Hangar B. The hash was scrumptious and made with red & yellow beets and sweet potatoes.. I CANNOT get over how fresh and delicious it was. The eggs were poached in vinegar to keep their shape and the horseradish sauce was the perfect addition. There was whipped butter and their own homemade jam to spread on the toast. Add a glass of ice water and I was good to go. I ate most of the meal and still brought some home for later. Nothing greasy or processed about the food here, everything is local! Even though the weather was brutally raw and rainy, we watched a couple of small planes take off and land while enjoying our meal. Service is A1 and I highly recommend Hangar B for breakfast and lunch.. Here's what it's like: (short version) Everyone working the floor here is on their phone or checking it every chance they get. Also good food! But it's reeeeeally pricey. Here's what happened: (long version) We used to come to this place all the time and it was so great. It's still great food and a fun place to eat with the planes and everything but the service (at least in terms of the waitress we had) has gone down hill. When we arrived we were sat by a hostess or a busser who was very friendly. The first thing the waitress with the braid said to us was "the specials are on the board" then she just walked away and didn't come back for a while because she was on her phone and talking to another waitress about dieting. Then once the food came she got better, asking us if we liked it what we needed etc. but when we asked for ice she said "sure" then proceeded to again go on her phone, play around with avocados, and talk to the other waitresses. When she went to run the bill it seemed like she forgot, as we sat there at the table for 15 minutes watching her again go on her phone. Then finally we asked where it was and she said "oh the machines broken". Why didn't you tell us that when you realized? Instead of making us sit there? We waited for 30 minutes then the owner came over and said sorry. Good food. Pretty pricey. Bad waitress who was on her phone. read more

How does this place get 4 stars? This place was below average in my opinion. My lobster omelette was $25! That's more than some lobster rolls around in this area and the omelette was terrible. Awesome breakfast spot . I will say that you should get there early because it does get busy. This place is located on an airport runway! Super cool scenery with the old airplanes while you sit there and enjoy an unbelievable breakfast. I got the breakfast sandwich, that had egg, arugula, tomato and avocado on it. The best part about it was the toasted croissant that it came on. That literally made the sandwich that much better. I also got the buttermilk doughnut that was more of just fried dough than your traditional doughnut, but it was good with the homemade jam. I wouldn't even know where to properly begin when describing my love for this establishment, I guess ill first start with the heart of it, the staff. I admire every single person that it takes to make this restaurant the amazing machine that it is. Given the small space that they work with and the overwhelming about of people that come to enjoy their food every day, they do a wonderful job. The owner, is thoughtful, kind and caring. We are currently going through the Coronavirus pandemic as we all know, and not only has she created a amazing call in, curb side menu for the public she has added thoughtful items like at home taco kits ect. SO sweet and thoughtful at a time like this. The second reason is one that there is basically no debate on, the. food. OH BABY. I have personally consumed everything on the menu, twice over at least now and it never gets old. Fresh new twists on old classics, and she always got a popin specials menu. Not to mention dope pastries, bangin coffee, and killer jams. Once things get back to normal Hanger B is a must, there is no other option. Just know ahead of time that it is a small spot so don't go here with a HUGE party of people and know that there will probably be a wait if you don't get there early and that's not there fault that they are just so amazing and everyone on cape cod wants to have breakfast there. but its WORTH the wait trust me. **OH don't forget, ASK FOR A DONUT trust me just do it you will NOT regret it. I am absolutely shocked by this hidden gem. I went on mothers day. Yes the wait was an hour. yes the food took a bit longer than expected to come to the table... but.. butttttttt.. It is adorably small, the waitstaff, which happened to be the lovely and funny hostess was amazingly.... awesomely accommodating. So... beyond that? it's quaint, but in an adorably home like way. this could literally be your dinning room, if you had an amazing cook that used to be a Chatham Bars Inn in your closet. The kitchen is right there, in your face, and so tiny i can't believe they can work such magic in it. whole thing is super casual.... bring a date! so what is good... everything... what is bad, well they serve the water in huge glass, milk jug sort of containers and they are heavy.... so yah.... that was terribly disappointing... so...much... work... i can't seriously complain about anything. I had some steak thing with spicy sauce, sour dough bread and home fries, and over easy eggs.... for like 16 bucks! it was gorgeous! And that lovely hostess recommended it and she was dead on with how tender it was. a bit spicy, but once i dug in it was fine. the eggs were exactly how they need to be.... boyfriend got a bean burger... but don't shrug so fast, it was huge, with fresh black beans and whatever goodness they could fit into that MONSTER of a burger. it had an egg on it, of course, and sides. The eggs Benedict was pouched in vinegar and two people got it. two people reported back with two thumbs up.. the CHOCOLATEEEEE STUFFED croissant FRENCH toast was literally to die for... i can't wait to go to the doctor and get my blood pressure checked. It was huge, stuffed with just enough of thick, more dark then light chocolate.... but it was a special.... so there! you wont have a chance to try it... ten year old nephew didnt like it... too sweet, and yes it was! but the regular french toast was amazing as well (i know i keep repeating amazing).... it was a big eggy according to the 8 year old nephew, but i think what he meant was it was a thicker piece of bread so it had more egg in it... which i guess, means it was 'eggy'. It was moist and burnt in that grilled cheese sorta way. ok on to doughnuts.... FRIED DOUGH literally in a round dense ball!! ok and the CHOCOLATEEEEE croissant got the thumbs up from the french boyfriend so you know it was greatness. I like to try as many new restaurants as possible when traveling, but went to Hangar B's twice on a recent trip to the Cape. I would have made it a third time if it was open on tuesdays. The place has a great location and the little ones loved the airplanes and playground. The food was excellent. On the trip, I was again reminded that Northern California has turned me into a food snob. Hangar B's would do extremely well in San Francisco or anywhere. The biggest hits were the huevos rancheros and chocolate french toast. read more

I really don't understand the hype. It was neat to sit outside and see the small planes coming and going, but the food did not meet the hype. I ordered the traditional eggs benedict - poached eggs' yolk was cooked all the way through, ham was burnt to a crisp, biscuit was stale and the hollandaise was way too sweet. The waitress was smarmy and impolite. We have allergies so we asked they leave the creme fresh off the dish and no toast and she paused to see if they could achieve that. We waited for 40min to get a pretty simple order and she told us it was because all of our "special" asks. Wait, creme fresh is put in after the hash is done and not putting toast on the side takes extra effort. Cool. This is my favorite place to eat breakfast! The food is always fresh and very delicious. I always get the breakfast sandwich and a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. The breakfast sandwich is a delicious toasted croissant piled with cheesy eggs, avocado, fresh arugula, and half a roasted tomato. YUM! Very good food and view but had a waiter with a bad attitude who offered everyone else water except me and then having to sit in the hot sweltering sun on the sunny deck sadly completely ruined the meal :/ Not nearly enough seating inside so it might be better to try it in the off season when it's not so crowded and you don't have to endure melting in the sun. read more

Checked the website and off I went, but as I neared the place called to see if I would make it on time....it was 12.30. And the greeting said that they were not open that day as they were catering for an open house at the airport.... So I drove somewhere else...for the day. Popularity can get these guys to forget some basic courtesies. They shouldnt expect customers to call them each time they are headed out there to eat. We all use the web and the ratings/ feedback before we spend our precious time and money to head out there. The least one would expect is a message on their website saying they are closed for the day..... read more

A trip to Chatham is not complete unless it involves a stop to this first-class breakfast / brunch spot located on the grounds of the Chatham airport. While you wait for a table - and there will be a wait - you can watch small planes take off and land or see skydivers slowly circle back to the ground. Very cool. When at last you are seated, you can select from lemon ricotta pancakes, the famous red flannel hash (the red comes from beets) with all of its earthy goodness, huevos rancheros with refried beans that must be made with truffle oil, croissant French toast that is more like a pan-fried chunk of bread pudding and many other sweet and savory offerings. Jellies are homemade and include hints of herbs. The kitchen is open to the restaurant so you can see the chef and staff turn out your perfectly poached eggs or slightly chewy waffles. Thought has been put into everything you will sink you fork into so it will be tasty, if not exceptional. Quality has been consist from year-to-year and service friendly. An easy 5 stars. read more

I am a breakfast snot and as breakfasts go, you will be hard pressed to find a better one anywhere on the cape or off of it. I keep coming back here again and again and again. The coffee is amazing, roasted locally and smooth. The breakfast sandwich is amazing and the home fries with it rock. The baked goods, the muffins, croissants, and all the other stuff is great. Seriously this place is amazing. The hour + wait always, kind of sucks but the food is worth it if you have time to kill and are willing to wait for fresh, home made food that is AMAZING. I haven't had a bad meal here. They need to expand or relocate or something because waiting this long for this food stinks to high heaven.. Service is great, servers are great.. Place small, no idea what took so long. Both had hash. Mostly beets, couldn't taste bacon. Server not rude but not overly sociable either. Expensive for what got. My husband and I rode bikes to Hangar B eatery yesterday. The place is really cute and charming and the waitresses were all very friendly. Good menu- in fact before we even ordered we were talking about coming back the next day so we could try more things on the menu! My husband ordered the fish tacos, I ordered the breakfast sandwich and we also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes to share. When the tacos arrived my husband was disappointed to find out they are fried fish-it is not noted on the menu and the waitress didn't mention either-we also didn't ask. Anyhow- At first the waitress responded with "aren't all fish tacos fried?" -they're not we had non fried the day before in downtown Chatham. The waitress then kindly offered to swap it out for something else. My husband ordered the huevos rancheros. After that I can only describe the cook's reaction as an absolute temper tantrum. It's a very small place so from sitting in the dining room looking straight into the kitchen we can see and hear him ranting on about letting us swap out the meal etc. He loudly complained about it for seriously the rest of the time we were there and constantly shot daggers at our table. He was staring us down for the next 20+ minutes. It was so uncomfortable and excessive. Get a grip! Not to mention we paid $50 for breakfast for 2, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect to be satisfied with the meal. The food was quite good-especially the pancakes. We would never return based on the poor service from the kitchen. Don't ever try to send anything back there- you'll be lucky if you make it out alive! read more
