He even offered to come out and do the job the very next day, which happened to be a Sunday. He did a good job on what was a very high roof line and he did not make any mess in the yard, putting all of the debris into a bin instead of tossing it over like some do. I'm planning to keep his number on file for my next gutter cleaning and potentially any other small projects around the house.

We contacted numerous contractors who provided very high bid estimates and wouldn't be available for weeks. Robert came out to inspect the damage, explained his approach to solve the problem, and provided a reasonable proposal for his work. He was highly communicative and professional every step of the way. The work itself is clearly high quality. The area where the rot was has been completely replaced and touched up so that you can't tell there was ever an issue there in the first place. I will absolutely be calling Robert for any future projects we have. 10/10

I hired Smiley Electric for two straightforward jobs in my condo:…read more 1. Replace a GFCI breaker and inspect a bathroom light fixture 1. Install a single wafer light fixture Their invoice showed over 4 hours of labor billed beyond the service call, which is far more than industry averages for these tasks (most electricians I consulted, including my own family member who is licensed, say these should take 1-1.5 hours each). I repeatedly asked in writing for a clear, detailed explanation of what caused the work to take so much longer than normal. They refused to provide any written justification, instead insisting on a phone call. I made it clear I wanted everything documented in writing for clarity and transparency. While these discussions were still ongoing and unresolved, they ran my credit card for the full amount without my authorization. This was after I had been responsive and clear that the billing was in dispute. I chose Smiley Electric because of their high Google rating, but my experience matches the lower Yelp rating. Based on how my concerns were dismissed, the lack of transparency, and the unauthorized charge, I cannot recommend this company.

Brian was very communicative via email and text at the beginning but as the problems have evolved, it doesn't appear he wants to acknowledge let alone take responsibility for what his company did not complete. Things ended very unprofessionally and a month out I'm noticing how poor quality their work was in spaces they may not have thought I would've paid much attention to. I've posted pictures of this.

The two Workman were nice and very polite. Usually on time However they did not pay attention to details and preparation before painting. Furniture was covered but areas that should be protected from the ceiling and wall paint were not sufficiently masked off or protected from paint splatter. Two areas on the living room carpeting had good size paint drops and looked as if the workers tried to clean the area but what ever they used, left the carpet discolored . There should have been better protection while painting. Also some ceiling paint splatter on pleated shades. Again they did not protect the area. One hard wood floor vent had paint drips in between the grates. Home owner was able to remove it with efforts. Business owner apologized for the incomplete dry wall repair and said he would send a different crew to fix. He Apologized for the carpet spots with no solution. Our advice is to instruct his crew to pay more attention to protecting the home owners areas that aren't part of the work they are hired for and to detail work around moldings, doorways , windows and fixtures. We had only one area of white woodwork that was painted, the stair railing. Result was satisfactory but not as well done as previous areas in the past. Homeowner chose not to have any other woodwork painted and is satisfied with that choice. The home owner was very prepared prior for the job to start, having moved furniture, light fixtures, wall electrical plates, drapes and obvious obstructions before the workers arrived. This handyman was chosen because he could provide both dry wall repair and painting. His bid for the job was fair but the completed overall work by his crew was below average more due to the painting including lack of care in the preparation and detailing. We are left to do lots of touch up areas around moldings, window and door casings, in the rooms that were painted.

If I could sum up my experience (a complete siding job with James Hardie fiber cement siding) with…read moreA Cut Above Exteriors (ACAE) in one word it would be professional. This is an example of what dealing with any contractor should be. After much research I had decided to install the Hardie siding. I wanted to use a contractor who was familiar with the product and installed to James Hardie criteria and specifications. I went to James Hardie's website and searched for contractors that are designated as Elite Preferred. ACAE popped up and had impeccable reviews. Starting with the sales person, Joe, he thoroughly explained what they would do for me. He was knowledgeable and personable. There was absolutely no pressure whatsoever. The bid was higher than the others but after researching (ACAE) and speaking with Joe, I was convinced they were the company for me. In this case, you really get what you pay for. I was introduced to Josh, the Project Manager. Once again, very knowledgeable and personable. Very easy to work with and communicated with me on a daily basis. When problems cropped up, he was always there to offer suggestions on how to proceed. His crew, led by Nikolay with Rosty and Eugene, did amazing work. The workmanship is impeccable; the crew was very organized and professional. They always made the worksite safe and clean; leaving everything spotless when they left at the end of the day. I can't emphasize enough the quality of their work. It was just beautiful. The paint crew, led by Vladimir, once again did unbelievable work; totally transforming the appearance of an already exquisite job. Although color decisions were ultimately mine, Vladimir was always willing to offer a suggestion as to which color to use on a particular area. (I had selected four colors for the primary on the house, secondary for the house, trim and the doors.) These individuals collectively transformed my house (a basic ranch) into a home that I am proud to show off. In summation, I would highly recommend A Cut Above Exteriors if you want premium quality work on your home. You can probably get a siding job done cheaper but I truly believe you get what you pay for. There is nothing I can say negatively about the experience from the initial walk around with Joe, the actual installation with Josh, Nikolay, Rosty and Eugene and finally the painting with Vladimir and his crew. I would absolutely use ACAE again.
