I will say that they are prompt and courteous. I needed a ceramic shower soap dish replaced (prior one broke) and a rusted out tub drain removed. It took about 3.5hrs and cost almost $500. While the handyman was professional the work just kind of looks sloppy and not worth the price paid. I spent an hour of my own time trying to clean up some of the sealant to have a "more professional" and less two toned look to it. Ultimately the work got done but the quality of the work was lacking especially for the price paid. Totally disappointed! Edited review: the customer service is excellent. Horrible service. I asked them to re-attach some garage racks that had fallen (the drywall anchors had failed) and some minor drywall work. They gave me an estimate of 4 hours for the work. Two people arrived, after 3 hours of drywall work (way more than needed with one of their guys hiding somewhere not actually doing work) I asked when they were going to work on the priority work (the fallen rack) and they assured me they would be done working on time. At 4 hours they informed me that they would reach 4.5 hours that day and require another 2+ hours on another day because they did not bring materials to work on the garage racks. Just so I am clear IF they were able to complete in the new estimated 2 hours that would put their work at 6.5 hour - when they told me 3 hours in that there would be no extra time needed. They clearly just send people to get whatever hours they can get out of you. The work might have been a 6 hour job, but they offered the estimate - clearly just to get in the door. This is my second time using Handyman At Your Command for a project and, like the first time, I am impressed by their attention to detail and problem solving skills. I had a large, very heavy door and frame to be installed. Joel and Isaac arrived on time and ready to work. And the day, unfortunately, started with them having to lug the ultra-heavy for up one, two, three flights of stairs. I felt terrible that it wouldn't fit in the elevator--but they stayed positive and got the job done. Videos. The special door I bought came with installation videos that made it look so easy. Of course, the job was *much* more complicated than expected and Joel and Isaac had to come up with some ideas to make it work. They totally did. With Handyman at Your Command you get skilled workers who figure out how to get the job done. They work at a good pace and are friendly. Terrible work. Never again. Cannot believe these can't handle a simple caulk job. I hired them to caulk my bathtub and toilet. Straight forward and simple job. they charged $200 for 3 hours which is pretty high for handyman work, but I figure if it's high quality then I'm fine with that. IT WAS NOT. Guy did the caulking. I did a quick look and was like "You forgot to caulk the faucet element" He did that after apologizing. I figured this guy is a pro and I do not have to inspect his work with a fine tooth comb. That was incorrect. The next day I realized there was holes in the caulk and the caulk was very bumpy in places. The first is real bad and the whole reason you caulk in first place, to keep water out. Second bumpiness is not great either as water pools in there and mold develops. I emailed and they said they would send someone else. I figured this person would fix it and do it right. they knew it was a screw up. Well that was wrong too. The 2nd guy actually also did shoddy work and left holes in the caulk again. Unbelievable. Never work with them again. Cannot believe it. read more

Freddie and Iber performed about four tasks around my condo in the span of two hours. This ranged from mounting a TV to drilling some hardware into a piece of furniture that I was doing a DIY makeover on. They were extremely pleasant, hardworking and did not delay at all at starting the tasks. It turns out I had to run out and buy something I didn't know was necessary, and the men and their boss worked with me, accommodating me completely, so that I could pause the clock and restart when I had the correct item for them. They finished within the 2-hour time slot I had purchased. I am happy with the quality of work. I took off a star because (a) the company called me 30 minutes out to tell me the men were running an hour behind (luckily, I was not on a tight schedule that afternoon, so that didn't throw my day off) and (b) because I had to vacuum drywall dust after the men left. The mess wasn't awful. Also, I was surprised that the men didn't take credit cards on-site, so I called Tracy to volunteer my credit card information. I wanted to pay them immediately and not forget the charge was coming. (But surely they don't trust every customer to do that...) Overall, I was satisfied with this company. read more

Tried for 3 weeks to get them to come give me an estimate to repair a damaged wood fence. I was promised the estimate 3 separate times, only to have the promised date come and go with no communication. After sending an angry message complaining about this and stating I would go elsewhere, they claimed "technical difficulties" and finally sent me an estimate that was a full 75% higher than the next highest estimate I had received to perform the repairs. So communication is terrible and they will try to rip you off. Please don't bother with this company. read more

Wow these guys are awesome! This company sent out two people (maybe one is the owner or manager?) and they were great at their work, and equally importantly, friendly and patient with me while I figured out exactly where to have everything hung, etc. They recaulked the tub, hung a cabinet in the bathroom, a wine rack in the living room and a pot rack in the kitchen. They hung a windchime on my balcony, fixed my bathroom door, my front door (both had minor, but different problems) and fixed a set of IKEA drawers that I put together very badly years ago. Now all the drawers open and close! They installed 3 dimmer switches and took care of some nasty cables that were pouring out of a hole in the bedroom, left by the previous owner. They did great work for us on 2 jobs. Hugo did the work and was very thorough on both. We used them to replace an overflow drain and had no issues with the work or timeliness of his arrival. We also had him remove an old overhang we built on the front of our home and replace it with the original roof line and gutter system. It was a job that required 2 men for a period of time, so the scheduling and pricing had to be worked out with management, but both issues were handled promptly and professionally by the company. Again, the work itself was exactly what we wanted and expected. They even had a supervisor come by to inspect the final work product and assist in the cleanup. Moral of the story, don't cheat on your handyman!! I was having some paint work done and put in vinyl flooring in a matchbox of a bathroom in my basement. I spoke to my handyman, who gave a good price. It turned out he couldn't do the work when I needed. I was relocating and wanted to refresh the bathroom look before renting, due to the timeline, I called Handyman at Your Command. I found it on Angie's List and had good reviews. What could go wrong? A paint job and vinyl flooring (tiny bathroom). It took him 10 hours to get the work done. I think because he was on the video phone to a woman multiple times saying, I'm not getting out of here anytime soon. He was setting the stage for the rip off since it was $198 for 3 hours. He's slow at painting!!! He took so long he had to come back the next morning. He came in and was told he had max of 2 hours to get the work done. I had somewhere to be. I wanted to get in the shower before I had to get to m meeting. He took 3 hours to put up a piece of board and paint the trim that was 5 feet long. I got white so he didn't have to paint the corner one, but just the baseboard. He got done. I didn't even check the baseboards before he left since he was down there so long. I came down just before I got on the road and found that he didn't paint it. I had to quickly do it myself before leaving. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. The chat on the phone is to set the stage that Howard will stay a long time. I also asked that the vinyl split be placed behind the toilet. Where is it...On the side!!! Slow as hell; doesn't listen; doesn't complete the job; and charged more then double the cost of my tried and true handyman and did sloppy work. Not recommended!! I rarely write reviews but I feel this service deserves shout out. During a few days of heavy rain, somehow the wood expanded on my back door and it would not close. It was a pretty tricky problem, but this service visited our house 3 times to resolve the issue and charged me a reasonable amount. Then, after the wood dried, the door would close but the lock was out of alignment. Again, they sent a handyman promptly to fix the problem. I'm impressed that they responded so quickly and are willing to resolve the issue, even if it required multiple visits. read more

I cannot recommend this business enough! I was recommended them by my home inspector, and checked them out on Yelp. Tracy at the office is very responsive and quickly scheduled a quote. Jose came and was very thorough. I needed a lot of little things done to get my townhouse ready for sale. He even told me the materials to buy to save me money. The quote was less than the other quote I had and more thorough. I appreciate that they have different packages and took advantages of one which was handyman and a helper for two days. The guys came on time each day and worked very hard. Jose came the first day to orient the two handymen. Another Jose worked the two days with me and he was excellent! He explained everything that he was doing. At the end of the job, there were a few minor details I wanted fixed and they were responsive and willing. I even realized at the end that two things I wanted on the contract weren't there and they came back a third time to fix them at no charge to me! In the two days they worked, they actually did more than I had originally had in the contract. Through it all, Tracy provided excellent customer service, ensuring I was happy with the job and it was going well. If you want an honest hard-working handyman company, you have found it! We had a variety of jobs to do around the house. I purchased a deal for $198 for 3 man-hours, with the option to pay for additional hours as needed. It was easy to get them scheduled. Howard and Fernando got to work right away on the items on my list such as assembling wire shelving and attaching to the garage wall, putting up a pegboard in the garage, and fixing a sticking front door. They also stayed an additional hour to work on other items including putting up 2 security lights outside our house. We are satisfied with the work and the amount charged, and would use Handyman at Your Command again. read more

I hate to write such a negative review, but I had a terrible experience with Handyman At Your Command. They were responsive when I called to schedule, which was great, but nothing went as planned after that. Someone was scheduled to come at 8am but I never got the promised confirmation email, so I called the morning of and was told they would come by at 8:30 instead. They then showed up closer to 8:45, took a quick look at my sink, and then left supposedly to get parts. They did not come back for another two hours and then attempted to fix everything in 15 minutes (because the company charges for 3 hours at a time). They claimed to have tested the sink which I believed only to find out later that day they didn't fix the problem. I was then billed their 3-hour minimum charge of $270 when they barely did an hour of work, and inadequate work at that. I've emailed them to discuss the charges but 4 days later have still not received a response. Avoid! read more

They will send 1 man out, then he calls for a second man which raises the price, then they send out a supervisor to sell you something you don't need. The job started out being 1100.00, they called for a second man which raised the price, by the time the supervisor got there the price was 2800.00. It got up to 5300.00 They wanted to lower my ceiling by 8 inches which would take 3 days. All I wanted was a joist repaired, called someone else and they charged me 200.00 per joist. I spent 430.00. After I told handyman at your bullshit not to come back they invoiced me for 500.00, the guy got there at 9am made an assessment went to home depot at 9:30 did not get back until (get this) 11am. Home depot is 7 minutes from my house, the guy cut 2 ft of roof and tried to sell me on dropping roof, I said no and I get a 500.00 bill. What did they do that cost 500.00? If they say they need a second man for the job look out, it's coming. read more

I purchased the big deal through Angieslist and posted pictures of the work I needed completed. I needed my front wooden overhang replaced. The job took way longer than I expected. Omar came out and did the work. He called the office for a second man to come help, but Tracey (the owner) did not want to send another man. After he finished, he left the trash in front of the house and took my white paint with him. I told the company and they did not send him back to clean up. Instead, the excuse provided by the company was that he did not know what to do with the trash since no one was home when he finished. Really he could have taken the trash with him in the truck was my expectation and response. Later, my neighbor (whose boyfriend is a contractor) said she was glad I got the overhang fixed because they saw black mold on the exposed overhang wood and insulation. Realizing this, I called Tracey and asked the company why they did not tell me about the mold. I asked her to send Omar back out and remove the overhang so I could treat the mold. She stated that I hired them to replace the overhang and that is what they did. It was not their job to tell me that the dark spots could be mold. Tracey is refusing to send her people back and have basically left me to deal with it on my own. Remember, I sent them pictures of the work I needed. You can see the black stains in the pictures but the company excuse is the pictures are small and cannot see the details very well. I do not understand why they did not tell me until after I mention the dark spots that they could not see the pictures very well. It was my understanding when we scheduled the appointment that it was very clear the work that needed to be done based on the pictures provided. As I mentioned, he left the removed wood pieces laying in my front yard and they have black stains. I am very frustrated, because I now need to redo everything. I need to take down the overhang and treat it for possible mold and then replace the overhang. I will not use this company ever again nor would I recommend them to friends. I scheduled an appointment to have a ceiling fan installed and security cameras installed I spoke to the manager, Tracy McCalla, I asked for an experienced person who knew how to install ceiling fans and security cameras. The person they sent didn't even know how to put batteries in, he put all the batteries in facing the same way and I had to tell him how to put the batteries in properly. When he was installing the ceiling fan he kept getting text and phone calls which he kept answering and talking while he was working. After the ceiling fan was installed I turned on my light, and all my lights blew out. The handyman kept telling me he didn't do anything wrong, I explained to him that everything was working until he installed the ceiling fan. The handyman proceeded to take down the ceiling fan and stated he doesn't know what is wrong and said it is not his fault and he left. The handyman came back and said he forgot to put the electricity caps on the wires and as he was fittling with the wires the lights flickered, I told him I just saw the lights flicker and that the ceiling fan was not properly installed. I received an email from Tracy McCalla apologizing for what happened and offering me 2-hours free complimentary services for my inconvenience. I accepted the offer, but when I called to schedule the free 2 hour service I was asked by Ms McCalla would I give a good review I told her if the service is performed good, but she wanted me to give a good review on the service that I had with the ceiling fan installing. Tracy McCalla told me they will not honor the 2 hours of free service that was offered to me, I said you want me to lie about the service I received. So you are not honoring the offer that you made me. read more
