I cannot praise Maria, Dimitrios, and their team enough! Maria runs this company like a well-oiled machine. She pays attention to every little detail, things I would have never thought of! They have a crew of professionals who are experts in their fields, and the end product is reflective of this. Just as important, Maria, Dimitrios and their team are a joy to be around! I've never seen tile look this good (shout out to Dennis!). Dimitrios really takes time to make sure the finished product looks perfect, and it does! From the beginning, Maria was transparent about costs and what it included, and I felt the total cost was on par with the other quotes I received. We will definitely be using Oikos Systems again for future jobs. read more

We have repeatedly contracted Oikos for all variety of projects from minor furniture repairs, to electrical, to crafting a new fireplace mantel. There is a slight premium on the cost, but it's well worth the peace of mind that comes with quality work and professionalism. If they don't think a project item can be done to the quality they promise they don't bid on it. As a bonus, the painter they subcontract bigger paint projects to is better than dedicated painting companies we've hired in the past. read more

They came to grout and caulk in three of our bathrooms. The grout had cracked and fallen out in between tiles and there were small holes as well that needed filling in. Dimitrios filled in all the holes and was very accommodating with making sure to go back and address a few that were initially missed. He redid all the dirty caulk as well. Efficient, respectful and super nice. I will definitely use them again for things in my home as they are very reasonably priced and great to work with. read more

They never got back to me after I contacted them for a quote multiple times for a number of household projects. I have the correct business (same phone number). I submitted an online request through your website in April, and received an automated text message saying you would be in touch. I responded to that as well. Maybe there is something wrong with your website? read more

I was so glad to find this family-owned handyman business based in Arlington. Maria runs the business side and Dimitrios is the lead handyman/craftsman. I asked for a quote to install some new fixtures in our bathroom. They were able to provide the quote by email (very reasonable) and then Dimitrios came out and did an excellent job installing. Very kind, and even came back at no extra charge when I realized one of the fixtures I bought was defective and I needed to exchange it first. Will not hesitate to call them the next time the need arises. read more

Reasonable prices. Outstanding work. Great communication. Beats other Handyman services by a mile.

We have used Dimitrios for at least a dozen projects around our house over the last four years or so. He is always on time and prepared to do the work. He is truly a jack of all trades, he has done everything from caulking and repairing a shower door to building an elaborate IKEA wall mounted System for my son's room. Most recently he built a loft bed for my son in under two hours. Maria is always pleasant to work with, and accommodates our scheduling needs. I think the value for the work is excellent and I'm confident if there were ever a time that something was not what I was expecting, they would work to make it right. Truly a nice family run business! read more

OikoSystems Contractor - a bunk bed in a child's room - General Contractors Near Me

We worked with Oiko Systems to complete a number of home improvement jobs in the Spring of 2022. The results were better than expected, and I can highly recommend working with Maria and Dimitrios. They were both very professional, communicated regularly, keeping us up to date on expectations, timing, scheduling, work to be done, potential challenges, etc. Oikos helped us order a door (provide accurate measurements and ensure that it would be a good fit) and installed it for us. When installing, Dimitrios took the time to make sure that the job was done right, by adding some insulation where there was to be a gap in the wall, touching up the paint on the trim, finding the right trim and installing it to all look outstanding upon completion! We also had them paint several rooms for us. The paint required almost no touch ups, as they did such a quality job. And the biggest project was removing our drop ceiling in our basement and lights and replacing it with drywall and updated led lights, followed by painting it all. We requested ceiling wells to have extra overhead space in two areas, and Dimitrios worked his magic on them. The job looks amazing!! We will definitely be working with them again, as the work was top notch, they team was professional and courteous, and they went above and beyond in a few ways to show that the job quality and their reputation was important to them. read more

We were extremely pleased with Oiko Systems. We found them as a result of a referral from a friend and neighbor and have since referred them to others. Very professional with excellent communication and attention to detail which is extremely important to us. We will use this company again in the future. Highly recommend for all of your home needs. read more

We have used OikoSystems many times for handyman work around our home. We recently had a refresh of our basement bathroom by Maria and her team. They did a fantastic job and we are so pleased and wondering why we hadn't done this sooner. read more

We've hired OikoSystems twice for two major projects in our home. The first was converting a shady basement kitchen into a laundry space, and the second, two years later, was to help renovate a bathroom (installing a new vanity, repairing a wall, and painting the whole room). Both times the work has been absolutely phenomenal, and at a very reasonable price. We'll absolutely call again the next time we tackle a home project. read more

I cannot say enough good things about not only Dimitrios, who has been THE guy I call for anything outside my (very handy, but with limits) skill set in my last two homes (this one and the one we sold two years ago with many improvements he had done!)--but also about his wife, Maria, who runs the "office" side of the business. With these two at the helm, Oiko Systems is a reliable, easy to schedule with, reasonably priced, friendly business that I will never stray from! You email with a project or projects you need done--I usually attach photos so they can give an accurate estimate-- schedule and hear back from Maria within 24 hours at MOST, with a date Dimitrios can come and the cost estimate. The great thing about the estimate is that it's not an estimate - unless you've grossly underestimated the project's scope to them, the price they give you is the price you pay. NO upcharges. No surprises. Dimitrios has assembled two different playhouse/treehouses for us (he won't do them from scratch, but if you buy a kit he will assemble it for you), a gardening shed bench/potting bench, hung curtain rods, added shelving, installed an entire dry bar/cabinet in an empty closet space in my kitchen that was HUGE selling point when I sold my house, installed our wired ring doorbell in both homes, and does all sort of little jobs too while he's here - repairing a warped fence slat, fixing a gate latch, hammering down a loose shingle on the eave of the roof, etc. He's so helpful and friendly and kind that sometimes I call him even for things i CAN do, because i love giving business to a small, family owned business. Maria and Dimitrios have two adorable young kids and are just all-around wonderful human beings. We have used them for over four years now, maybe five. I recommend them to everyone I know. I'm actually a little reticent to post this review, as I don't want them to get SO busy that I can't get on their schedule! ;-) But honestly, there are very few businesses that I recommend unequivocally - I am picky and hard to please, and there's always something, like an electrician who's great but too expensive, or a plumber who is affordable and reliable but talks too much, etc. I have absolutely ZERO such qualms about recommending Oiko Systems. You will not regret calling them! read more

OikoSystems Contractor - wish i had a better picture, but this is the built-in dry bar dimitrios installed in our kitchen. it matched perfectly! - General Contractors Near Me

I just moved and have felt overwhelmed by the number of 'little things' that I needed an extra pair of hands to do. My husband travels often and just putting up window treatments was a major time suck this weekend. I saw Maria's posts on her handyman company which she and her husband Dimitrios own. WHAT A FIND! I called yesterday morning and by mid-afternoon, a wall was touched up with paint, an outdoor flag was installed, a curtain rod and drapes hung and a backsplash in the kitchen was 'wall papered.' OMG- this was the best night of sleep I've had since moving to VA, knowing not only were little pesky things accomplished, but I have someone I can get to take on bigger projects like remodeling the guest bath when the time is right. Maria and Dimitrios were reasonably priced, easy to communicate with, SUPER quick to respond and the work was excellent! YAY!I read more

I have used Oiko for years for all sorts of repairs and renovations in my condo. I trust Dimitios and have never had a bad experience. He is very honest and doesn't add on work that is not necessary. I've always gotten the sense that he cares a lot and wants to do a good job. I can't recommend this company enough. It is a small local family business and Maria is also great for scheduling. The quotes I get are accurate and don't change after the fact like many other contractors. Highly highly recommend. read more

We have used Oiko Systems for numerous projects over the years - everything from preparing a townhouse to rent (painting, repairing closets, fixing doors, etc.) to filling a sandbox and assembling a shed. Dimitrios is extremely efficient and his wife, Maria, responsive and helpful. I definitely recommend! read more

We recently completed our second full bathroom renovation with Oikos. Our first call to them a few years ago involved helping address a shower leak that ended up involving a whole gut job (due to shoddy previous work from another contractor). This time, we knew we wanted a full renovation for a tiny bathroom that needed to be reworked better. They were great partners in thinking through the layout and connecting with suppliers who do great work. We're very pleased with the full process - from initial chat to final product! read more

Any time I need something fixed in my house - I always check with Oiko Systems first to see if they are able to do the job. They are responsive and come on time. Quotes are extremely reasonable, and we are always pleased with the results. They are fantastic - highly recommend! read more

We've been using Oiko Systems for years after cycling through multiple home improvement/handyman service companies. After our first time using Oiko Systems, we knew we'd use them again. Our first few visits included small handyman type work. We quickly saw what impeccable work they did and started using them for bigger projects, such as painting, building furniture, small renovations, etc. There have been a few projects we asked about and appreciated their honesty when they said it wasn't something they could do (electrical work). Not only do they do great work and they do it at a reasonable price, they're on time, honest, polite and trustworthy. This is a small, family owned, local business that we're happy to support. We've recommended them to many friends and will continue to recommend them! read more

I called and Maria answered the phone right away. She listened to my problem and confirmed Dimitrios was available for a same day appointment. This was great, as I needed someone today to come get me out of a pickle with a stuck bedroom door. She called later to let me know he was running late on his other job, which wasn't an issue for me, but I appreciated the courtesy of the call. While he was here, after solving the urgent issue of the bedroom door, he then took a look at a list I had been amassing of "to-dos" and took care of nearly all of them! I am also getting a quote for our kitchen floor tile replacement, since they work with someone who is top notch and we've been needing to do that. I cannot recommend them enough. We will call them first and hopefully not for an emergency but just routine assistance! read more

My sister's Arlington mom group (MONA) recommended Oiko's and I have had the pleasure of using Oiko Systems 3 times now. I just bought my first house and I was overwhelmed with just all the 'to do's' of setting up the home and maintaining it. Dimitrios set up two very complicated beds for me, fixed my front door and completed a few other repairs. He is always prompt, polite and attentive to the task at hand. I sincerely cannot say enough positive things about them. They are readily available via phone and email - and provide very timely responses. It was easy to set up an appointment and the pricing was provided prior to the visit as part of the consultation. I also greatly appreciate their honest and transparent communication. If they cannot complete a requested job they tell you and even provided referrals. The referrals I've received have been great! I look forward to working with them again and will continue to use and recommend them to others. read more

We started using Oiko Systems four years ago based on others' recommendations and have had excellent experiences with their work including painting, plaster repair, drywall repair, caulking, deck refinishing, and fixing duct registers. I had Oiko Systems install a new deck recently and I am very pleased with the work. The construction crew were polite, on time and very professional. I do have to mention to you that I am related to this family based business, but, take my word for it, these guys are honest, reliable, hard working and prices are very reasonable. They take small jobs as well, I call them at the salon for small plumbing/electric stuff all the time. read more

Not only did I get great deal on Groupon, but they did a great job on three of my rooms. Highly recommend this Greek family-owned business.

I was in desperate need for new hard wood floors after they got serious water damage. I contacted Oiko Systems Home Improvement and got a consultation regarding the new flooring. They gave me a great quote and after a little bit of haggling I got a great deal and they came in and began their work. Finished very quickly and the quality is amazing. read more

Recently purchased a Groupon to have Oiko Systems paint 3 rooms in my house. The customer service prior to our service date was good and they agreed to paint 2 larger rooms for the 3 smaller room price (less sq ft. but still an exception to the terms). The quality of the paint work, unfortunately, was not as good. We painted all the trim work (baseboard and crown molding) prior to the service. The painters did not tape or cover this and it got covered (requiring a repainting) in roller splatter. We had paint drips around the trim work and smears from the roller sliding across the wall. The electrical outlets were covered in paint. Overall, I was unsatisfied with the job and probably could have done a better job myself. When I contacted customer service about the quality I did not receive a response. I would not use the company again nor recommend them to someone looking for this type of work. read more
