Add in local ownership (they also have a store downtown on Broad). Season with a dash of outdoor/adventure expertise - as someone else mentioned, the staff can help with local trail-specific footwear, and the activity log in back is pretty cool. I'll still go to REI to try stuff on and see features firsthand because they have more of a selection of what I buy (I.e. gear rather than clothes), but I won't buy it there. If Gearhead can get it, I'll order it through them. I had the hardest time trying to find sandals that I actually liked.
