Opened in May 23rd of 2015 this is Chattanooga's best sporting goods store. I could not wait until they opened to spend my hard earned money here. Cabellas had a successful grand opening with all the advertising on radio, TV, Internet, and circulars they sent out. I have personally visited this store at least 5 times within the first couple weeks of opening. So, I really liked this sporting goods store. I am glad to say I will probable become a regular there. Finally, a large outdoor type retail store for outdoorsmen. I was at the store during the grand opening and you would think they were selling the latest IPhone. Parking lot was packed and people were camped out for days leading up to the opening. Once the specials are over, this will still be a very popular place for hunters and fisherman. Huge selections, gear, ammo and guns. A wide range of quality products and prices. They have a gun library which has some trade in guns. Make sure you checkout the Bargain Cave for specials and close outs. For an opening day the staff seemed well trained as you could not tell it was their first day. The other day I called the store to find a rain jacket because Chattanooga has turned into the Seattle of the Southeast! The person (man) who answered the phone was very helpful taking down the item number, color and size of the jacket I was looking for. He found it and placed it behind the customer service counter for me to pick up later in the day. When I arrived I noticed the parking was spacious. The landscaping was clean and well kept. Upon walking into the store it was very neat and the people were very helpful. I was able to locate the jacket to try it on before purchasing it and browsed the store a bit before leaving. A year and several visits have passed since the opening of this location, and frankly, I was a bit harsh in my earlier review/assessment. The employees have mellowed a bit, and the store has settled into a calm though efficient routine. The service level is equaling the larger mid-west stores, and the suggestion of a technique to pick up an unexpected 20$ discount was a very pleasant surprise! Let's add two stars; one that should have been there originally, and another for the attentive service that I consistently enjoyed over this last year. read more

I went here looking for a gun. The young douchebag that helped us made smart ass comments when I said i practiced right hand and left hand. He had no knowledge of guns. I knew more and I am a beginner. Their prices are about 100 more than gt distributor and to beat it all he got a call and took the gun and left. Beat it all it was womens gun instructors weekend. They had a rv to simulator for guns for women and women gun instruction. Hypocrisy. If you think women are too stupid to shoot dont invite us. read more

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not much of an outdoorsy gal so why would I need to go to Cabela's? Well, I was in the market for a handgun and decided that I needed a revolver. First of all, I can't believe how expensive guns are. Ouch! But I guess that makes people think twice about purchasing them? At least legally. Anyway, I digress. I did some research on revolvers and found one online at Cabela's that I thought would make a great first hand-gun. Seems easy to handle and the price was affordable. It even said it was a more affordable version of a .38 Special. I check my local store's inventory and they said they had "Limited Availability." Well I went down there the next morning and gave the sales person the info. She said she hadn't heard of that gun but she'd look in the system. They had one in stock and had just gotten it in a few days before. It was meant to be. I live in Tenn and this store is right over the state line in Georgia. I asked how I could buy it and she said they do it all the time, it just has to be transferred to a licensed gun broker in Tenn and I could do my application there and pick it up. Awesome! Went to Cabela's to buy a handgun. They were very helpful and knowledgeable and courteous. The service was very prompt. I had a specific gun in mind and they had it in stock. I had seen it for $50 cheaper at another store and informed them. They checked the other store to verify and matched their price. I was quite pleased with this. The only problem that was not the fault of employees was that we had to wait for someone to come and do what they call a captain's review of the paperwork. So we took a $9 item back without a receipt. They will only give you the lowest price that item has ever been. Needless to say we will have the receipt when we bring this item back and then we will never be back. Looks like Bass Pro will be our store. Fail Cabela's read more

We visited the store in Ringgold, GA for the first time ever to a Cabela's April 7, 2016. We were not greeted by any of Cabela's associates during our 30 minute visit. We walked around the entire first floor & stopped in to look at Men's shoes. We observed several associates chatting in the shoe department... one of the three associates walked passed us on two occasions. Not one of the associates acknowledged us. It appeared that the sales staff was not aware that it takes customers to keep them in a job. Because we received such poor customer service, we will NOT patronize Cabela's in the future. read more

Small for a Cabelas but has everything you need. Prices are the same as the other store I visit regularly in Kansas City. Service was excellent, very friendly staff. Locals were very friendly, even had a gentleman offer to take my family and I out to his property for an evening hunt. read more

Great store with friendly employees! I found everything I needed here and was pleasantly surprised to find out I saved an additional 20 percent on some of the things I purchased. It's a great location very close to were I live. I know I'll be shopping here a lot for all my out door needs! read more
