I'll still go to REI to try stuff on and see features firsthand because they have more of a selection of what I buy (I.e. gear rather than clothes), but I won't buy it there. If Gearhead can get it, I'll order it through them. I had the hardest time trying to find sandals that I actually liked. Chris was absolutely awesome and even called another store that had what I thought I wanted and had them hold them for me. Ended up hating those after wearing them around the house and went back to Chris and returned them and ended up getting what he had suggested in the first place. I haven't been wearing them long, but I can already say they're by favorite shoes I've ever had (bedrock cairns). The customer service here is what it used to be at REI. I'll go here from now on.

My son and I went by on Monday to see if there was a chance to get fitted for golf clubs. It was…read morearound 2:00 when we got to the golf department. We were told that the guy who does fittings wasn't there, but if we could come back the next day he has an open schedule and could fit us then. We live about :45 mins away. We called several times the next day and no one answered. Called again no answer. We finally reached someone at 3:00 and they said the guy that does fittings was at lunch but he'd be back in :30 mins and that he'd be leaving in 3 or 4 hours. That sounded like we'd take the chance and go on down. We arrived at Dicks and the guy in the golf department said the guy that does the fittings had left for the day. I would think that on the first visit from us to the golf department to be fitted for clubs someone would have said: What's your name and number?? And maybe the same question when we called back the next day. By the way, the sales person that was there in the golf department could have totally sold us clubs if he'd said: Hey, while you're here try these clubs out! We might have just bought a set that he showed us. We were open! We left there and went to another golf store and got clubs. There they were very attentive, helpful and I'm glad we could get what we needed.

Neither of us were interested in buying the credit card and that sentiment has not changed since our visit.
