This place is awesome that's all I really have to say. Not only do. They have a good selection of bikes, but they offered great service. I am from California and during a big road trip. My truck broke down and I had to leave it at the dealership while I flew home. The guys here at sac creek allowed me to store my bike at the shop for almost 2 weeks while I flew home and took care of some business. I asked them to please give me a good tuneup while they had the bike and they did an excellent job. First, I am not a Chattanooga local and recently purchased a mountain bike from SCC. During the pandemic bikes have been in short supply. After calling many shops near Atlanta, GA I discovered the Ibis Ripley that I was looking for was nowhere to be found. So, while talking to a friend (former bike shop owner, racer, frame builder), I asked "What Bike Shop would you recommend within 150 miles, no one has inventory and I want a bike to ride this weekend." I have tried all of the bike shops in Chattanooga. Suck Creek is where all the cool kids hang. Not cool as in you have to know about bikes either. Cool as in down to earth grounded and willing to help in the best way for YOU not to serve a greater corperations interest. If your looking for a lifetime of free tune-ups while actually getting up sold to something you don't need while playing off your emotions this is not the place for you. If your looking for beer on tap, what you need (not necessarily want) to hear and there to be motocross on TV this is your place. Mike grew up in the area and just knows exactly what you are asking for. Same goes for everyone he employs. There won't necessarily be some dude in a brand specific T shirt greeting you at the door but someone is in the back that would love to help you and get to know YOU not your checkbook. read more

I just moved to Chattanooga right around the corner from suck Creek cyclery I moved here from Napa valley California just needed to get a rear tire changed and a few accessories added on to my bike I was treated like a rat and a line they didn't care about me at all after they replaced my tire which I brought in my bike on Friday they said it would be Wednesday it took them five days to replace a tire on my bike and now the rear disc brakes don't work hardly at all anymore being in the customer service industry my entire life I would expect someone in the shop to give me a warm smile and say welcome to the neighborhood instead I was treated like a POS I would never recommend suck creek creek to anyone and it's no wonder the name of their business is suck Creek cyclery read more

I am just visiting Chattanooga for a couple days with one overnight and stopped into Suck Creek Cycle on my way into town for some ideas for a simple road bike route to take in the evening. I didn't need any gear and didn't buy anything, but they still took time and gave me a great bike route out from my downtown hotel... south on Broad, down Tennessee Rd, Burnt Mill Rd. Great quite roads down there with some small rolling hills. I took some little detours and got in about 30 mi with an out and back. They even wrote the directions down for me and pulled it up to show me on gmaps. Thanks for the local advice guys! read more

Had sent multiple people in there to buy bikes from them. I consider myself an ambassador to mountain biking. I meet people on the trails all the time; encouraging newcomers to the sport and working with long time cyclists to grow the sport. I asked the owner if he might have a part time position on the sales floor. I love bikes and love getting people on one that they will love and meet their goals for cycling. His response was "I do not have the right size tits" verbatim. I was disgusted by that sexist remark. Not only do I have the qualifications of a superb salesperson... I love the sport and have introduced so many to it. Stay away from this place!!! read more

I've used Suck Creek Cycle more then a few times. I've had them build a bike from the frame up. I've had brakes bleed. I also had a bike packed and shipped from the store. The guys in the back are great to speak with and bounce ideas off of. Because they do good work they tend to be busy. I've always found it a good practice to call before bringing my bike in for any work. They're pretty good at setting expectations on the phone. Overall the work has been impeccable. My bikes have always gotten great care and service at Suck Creek Cycle. I'd recommend them to my mom..if she road a bike ;-) read more

The first couple times we went there we got good service but the last time we went we were quoted a price of $25 to repair a bent rim and told it would be ready the same day by 2:00pm. Once we arrived to pick it up it had not even been started and the employee was sitting on a stool looking through a catalog... this was 3:50pm. Once the work started it only took about 10 mins so we don't see why this wasn't complete and ready when we arrived. When we went to pay the cashier was about to ring up the $25 as quoted but (manager or owner, not sure which) said it was $34. My Husband paid it and left very frustrated as this was directly after work. When we arrived home and unloaded the bike to test it, the first thing that happened was a spoke (the same one this company replaced less than 30 mins earlier) had snapped in two and broke off. We had to call them, load it back up and drive back across town before they closed just to have it replaced again. All we got was a simple, "sorry about that but it happens man". Not impressed and will not do business with them in the future. read more
