If I could leave negative stars I would. Went in the store to browse with my family. Instead of…read morejust greeting us and letting us shop, the associates kept bothering us and making unwanted comments. My 13 year old chose not to wear a coat. They wouldn't stop talking about it. The older associate then commented loudly that my daughter had no meat on her bones. It is totally unacceptable to comment on another person's body, or what they are wearing. Nobody asked for her opinion. It was not at all appreciated, it was offensive. Extremely unprofessional. We were all so uncomfortable that we left immediately. Body shaming is never acceptable! Especially on international women's day. After more than 30 years shopping here I will never return.

I should have written this review long ago but this year I needed to go to Hands more then usual…read more The service is superb! I could not for the life of me figure out why I couldn't connect my power washer, any of it. I went to Hands out of frustration (even though I got it at Home Depot) the fellow working clearly knew what he was doing and spent probably 10 minutes and told me the connections were a little worped and rusted. Instead of trying to sell me a new one, he taught me that adding a little lubraderm to the joints would make them fit. And he assembled it for me. He wouldn't even take a tip, saying they are not that kind of store and asked me to add a little to the plate at church. Another time I needed some replacement screws and couldn't figure out how to match them exactly. A different person spent 5 minutes not just finding the right screw for me but showing me how to use the equipment they had at the store to do it myself. Another time I needed a replacement outside table. Yet another person spent a lot of time with me listening to what I wanted and my time frame (fast) to try to find me a table that had in stock. Yes, this would have been a pretty big sale for them, but he was really trying to understand my needs and alternatives to make me happy with whatever I purchased. Always friendly, epic service!

Island Gypsy is by far one of the best shops in LBI. I've been going to the island for over 10…read moreyears and it is always my first stop. I never leave empty-handed!. Pros: HUGE selection of clothes for every season Quality clothing Color coordinated racks Wide price range Great hours Friendly register staff. Cons Over stuffed racks Limited fitting rooms Long, wait lines for fitting rooms and register (store is CROWDED) Unaccommodating return policy Unhelpful staff There are definitely some things they should work on. After 10 years, I don't think anyone has ever said " can I help you with something?" You're definitely on your own in there (at least when it's crowded). But it doesn't matter, it's a great store and there's something for everybody! I would highly recommend it!

If I could give them NO STARS I would! On Friday night, right before closing, I went into the store…read moreand found an outfit I liked. I was not able to try it on since the store was closing, so I bought it with the intention of trying it on at home. On Saturday morning, I tried it on, liked how it fit, took the tags off, and wore it to breakfast. While at breakfast, I stuck my hand in the pocket and discovered that the pocket, at the seam, was completely torn apart. My entire hand went through the pocket. Immediately after breakfast, I went to the store with the receipt, told the manager what happened, and was promptly denied an exchange, a return, or even a credit towards my next order. Although I'm 22, my mom was furious so she went in to the store and spoke with the two managers who were both working the registers. They simply repeated the return policy without giving any consideration to the circumstances. The one manager told her I could just sew up the hole in the pocket. I spent $50 for these pants. For $50, a consumer expects the clothes to be defect free. This is not a hole that could have been put in the pocket by anyone. It is the entire seam of the pocket. It looks as if either all the stitching that held the pocket together came apart or was never sewed. All I wanted was to exchange the pants for ones that were not defective. I was not looking for my money back. It is atrocious that they sell defective clothing in the first place. And it is even worse that they would not exchange said clothing when a defect was discovered. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!
