This is the only hand pulled noodle shop in this area..next would probably be down on 8th ave, although I can't comment on those as a comparison. Great little shop with FRESHLY MADE noodles. I always get the house special..includes everything plus a fried egg on top. Get the scallion pancakes..they're cheap and delicious. The soup dumplings are not homemade but still are a good side for the noodles. Read a few bad reviews here..all from (surprise, surprise) gwai lo (foreigners/not Chinese) complaining about the lack of flavor in the noodles (this is from people who probably put spoonfuls of sugar in their tiny little cup of Chinese tea). Um it's supposed to be like that...it's the broth that brings the flavor. The noodles are just supposed to be fresh and soft..not from a pkg like they're hoping, such as in wonton noodles. read more

I've been ordering from this restaurant for years and usually order the same thing every time. When I first started ordering from this restaurant there was little if any evident hospitality when I called to place an order. I felt as if they just didn't need my business so I stopped ordering from them for a while. I have ordered from countless Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood as there is an endless variety to choise from. Fast forward to today and calls are met with a very professional and courteous reception, and the food has always been fantastic. Whoever owns this place genuinely cares and it is reflected in the consistency and caliber of the cuisine they make on any given day. I order 1 to 2 times a week now for years and have never been disappointed. This is my go to place for hand pull noodles! Their braised pork with soy sauce is the bomb!! Thats basically the only thing i order there, and their dumplings! It may be on the expensive side, but it taste so good! The workers are friendly too. The sad thing is that they don't deliver to where I live, which is bensonhurst. I had the beef noodle soup and friend dumplings at the restaurant. It is a hole in the wall place, but it's cheap so I can't really complain. The people at the counter are friendly. The beef noodle soup was mediocre. The soup was light/tasty but the noodle didn't really have the broth's taste. The dumplings were better, but it wasn't the best dumpling I had in China Town. I came here for a late lunch and ate in. They have a few tables that you can eat in. The place is not that big. You order at the counter and they will bring the food to your table. The food is actually served on a plate. I ordered the large hot and sour soup, fried dumplings, and beef scallion pancakes. The total came out to be under $13 for 2 people. The price is pretty cheap, but I could get the same food for cheaper at the dumpling places at 8 ave or Chinatown. This place is not really a dumpling place, since they don't have veggie or shrimp dumplings. They offer a lot of rice and noodle dishes. The food we had was cold. The dumplings weren't piping hot or juicy. The scallion pancake would've taste better hot. The pancake is more on the thin side. It tasted okay cold. The hot and sour soup, I wasn't a fan. We just returned from dinner and I had their house special hand pulled noodle which had beef, beef tripe, egg and pork. When the large hot steaming bowl arrived I was thinking to myself no freaking way am I going to be able to finished but the taste of the noodles just pulls you in for one bite then another and another until its all gone and that's what happened to my bowl. Before I knew it I had finished. It was that good. We also had 8 pan fried and 8 steamed dumplings. (Note: the steamed ones were $4. What a value). Service was great, fast and attentive. Came here during the weekend for a snack. One of my relatives told me not to order the hand pull noodles as its not all that great. I ended deciding on the Pan Fried Dumplings, and the beef pancake. It was actually pretty good. Pricing was a bit more expensive than the typical dumpling places in Sunset Park. Never got around to trying this place even though its been recommended as ok enough to be worth going by friends and family. The 18th Ave stretch has a lot of different types of Chinese restaurants these days, although most are only passably good at best. Hand Pull Noodle is a small place, not too many tables, and never full whenever I pass by. Their menu is likewise small, and mainly focuses on the housemade hand-pulled noodles, which I've known as "lai mein" in Cantonese. Its a style of noodle from the northern regions of China, made pretty much with only flour and water. They are best had freshly made, which you'll know if a place has an open kitchen where the chef is busy pulling out dough to make the noodle strands. Its always a crowd pleaser when they slam the dough against the prep surface (unless you're eating there; then it gets old and annoying quickly). The noodles are freshly made at this place, which is a plus. When I arrived on a Saturday afternoon with no other business in sight, the friendly and very efficient person at the counter fetched out the noodle maker and he got to working. The hand-pulled noodles can be had in soup with a variety of toppings, including beef tendon, beef stew, beef tripe, dumplings, pork chop, chicken wings, and seafood. I should have gotten the beef special (with mix of beef stew, tendon, and tripe) but had a dumpling craving I had to fulfill so it was noodles with dumplings. For take-out, they keep the noodles in a separate container from the soup. Soup came in a large container with dumplings and some Chinese broccoli. The noodles are definitely fresh-tasting and slightly chewy, but they otherwise lack flavor. Didn't help that their broth was singularly salty and devoid of other elements. The dumplings had a pretty good filling which also tasted fresh, but the skin was not good quality and fell apart very quickly; could be b/c it was sitting in the broth longer. So I'll be back to have the noodles with other toppings when I get a noodle craving in my neighborhood. While nothing special, with a dearth of even passably good noodle places in Bensonhurst, I'll take it gladly. read more

We used to come here all the time and today reminded me how foolish were were for stopping our chow down visits. The beef and lamb hand pulled noodle dishes were delicious. The portions were huge, the meat was succulent and the 6.50 prices you just can't beat. The fried dumplings were mind blowingly amazing. The portions are huge and they fried them just right. Use some dumpling sauce and some hot sauce and you've got yourself a real treat. Yelped a spot while working in Bensonhurst. Since I didn't have a menu, I went off of a few reviews on here. I ordered the pork chop noodles & steamed dumplings. At first I was overwhelmed by the amount of noodles they gave in comparassion to the soup. Once I got over that, I put the noodles in the soup and gave it a whirl. The soup itself is a little bland for my taste. I needed a little more flavor (maybe hot sauce or something) The pork chops were pretty good and went well w/ the noodles. I love dumplings so it was a no brainer to order the dumplings. The inside of the dumpling was really good but the skin of it could've been way better. I love thicker skins on dumplings. I can not say enough good things about this place. Hand-pulled noodles are the Chinese equivalent of fresh-made Italian pasta on the spot. The kitchen here has an open layout like many take-out Chinese restaurants. As the man behind the counter kneads the dough and flings it around until it becomes strands of noodles, made to order, you also get a great show! It is a small place, but they keep it really neat and the place feels comfortable to sit in and stay for a meal. Their portions are generous, their dishes are tasty, the staff is really friendly and their menu does have more than just noodles or dumplings, so you can also order rice dishes and other appetizers which are tasty as well. This was a great find for us! We live in the neighborhood but was always reluctant to go in because from the outside it looks like your standard, greasy, slightly dirty Chinese fast food take out place. I couldn't have been more wrong! The place is a small operation, looks to be family run, and there are just a few tables for sitting down. But the hand pulled noodles are pretty delicious, and authentic! You can see the guy making each batch by hand. The beef soup for the noodles is quite flavorful! The noodles are chewy and springy. I ordered the shrimp wonton noodle soup and the beef tendon and stew noodle soup. Both were excellent choice, although the beef stew could've been a bit more tender. There's also quite a good selection of other items on the menu to try out as well. So while this might not be the best hand pulled noodles I've ever had, they're worth a try and I will definitely plan on going back again. read more
