This is the quality of oil change at Hampton Toyota

Car is still under full bumper to bumper warranty. Most warranties state if u try to fix it something, you avoid warranty. Cigarette lighter wouldn't charge devices. Told Hampton associate if not covered by warranty, let me know. They changed a 2 dollar fuse in less than 10 minutes and charged me 75 dollars. This place rips ppl off any way possible. Love my Toyota but not the dealer. I would advise going to another Toyota dealership. After reading low reviews I found a common theme. All about service department and Leslie. Poor communication, doesn't follow up with customers. Every other dealership service advisor come inform the customer and see if to proceed. Not Hampton. They change whatever knowing it will be outrageous like 75$ dollars for a fuse. Also had oil changed and this is the craftsmanship from "certified" mechanic

Additionally, I purchased a BMW, a Jeep and most recently a VW in Louisiana so that would make 3 Nissans and 3 others since 2006 for me. I am a car enthusiast and have owned 30+ cars in the last 30 years. Overall, I have always loved Nissan's but the quality is dwindling over the years. The vehicles that were made in Japan and sent to the USA have unfortunately always been more reliable than the USA built models. That aside, Nissan still gives some of the best bang for the buck on cars. The dealership is really the make it or break it and although I disagree with things like changing brake fluid and air filters that are clean but have 10k miles on them, the service department at Giles is trustworthy. They are very conservative in that "if it looks worn or is at the recommended mileage to change it then it needs to be changed". I know this is to minimize liability but as an engineer who has built race cars sometimes any logical thought is bypasses by mileage policies. With all that said, if your looking for a Nissan, they are the best dealer in the area. Come in prepared to negotiate and have your numbers worked out. If anyone can make "the deal you want" Giles can if they want to. Good luck!

We gave the car back and they charged us an extra $150, telling us that a fuse was unhooked and it was unhooked when we brought the car. I THINK I would know if my radio wasn't working when I brought the car in. We get the car back a second time and it works fine. The next time I turn it on, same issues occur, radio isn't working, can't adjust mirrors, and charger ports aren't working. This is absolutely ridiculous. We've spent over a grand on a rental and service fees combined, all because they messed up my car. Will not be back and would not trust them to work on anything.

I was able to test drive two and was completely floored at how much room and power these mid-size SUVs have. They are VERY sharp looking too. The harsh reality is some things aren't meant to be, and I ended up getting a different vehicle elsewhere that fit my budget, but I can't thank Trevin and the crew enough for their patience and assistance. I did purchased a vehicle from Sterling Ford in Opelousas back in 2013 and was VERY impressed with the service, respect, and professionalism I was shown. The service department in New Orleans is actually pretty horrible, if they ever call you back to schedule in the first place. At Giles, the service is prompt, professional, and thorough both in the sales and service departments. The people in the sales department are actually knowledgeable about the cars they sell, which is refreshing. It really feels like you're dealing with experts. Getting your car serviced is as stress-free as it can possibly be and the service managers communicate very well throughout the process. They have a great system in place that keeps you in the loop while your car is being taken care of. They are always very friendly and polite as well. They tend to have a smaller fleet available for purchase than some of the other dealerships, but they run a very organized business, so I don't think they need hundreds of cars on their lot to provide good options. Worth the trip to Lafayette if you're in the market for a Volvo. I will be ordering my next custom build from Sweden at Giles.

I suspected a CV joint issue but made it clear I was not certain, which is why I happily agreed to pay for a diagnostic. After drop-off, I was called and informed I would be charged a double diagnostic fee, with only half applied toward any repair. The vehicle was taken into the shop and I received findings in well under two hours, which raises questions about the legitimacy of the fee. I was then quoted additional thousands of dollars for coolant and oil system "leaks". When I asked whether these systems were pressure tested for leaks, I was told no and that the recommendations were based solely on visual inspection. I have no errors/lights and no measurable loss of fluids so I denied the additional services and proceeded with the CV joint replacement as intended. The most serious issue occurred at pickup. As I pulled out of the dealership parking lot, the skid plate immediately detached from the bottom of my car and flew off while driving, creating a serious safety hazard. I am extremely fortunate no one was behind me. I retrieved the skid plate and returned it to the service center within minutes. The technician and service manager admitted: - The skid plate had been removed during service - Screws and washers were missing - I was not notified of the missing hardware during the diagnostic or at pickup - The vehicle was released anyway, knowingly with missing hardware Instead of replacing the damaged part or properly reinstalling it, the service team zip-tied a broken skid plate back onto the vehicle and refused to replace it. I was told that "you don't really need it anyway" and that I should have known parts were missing because I brought the car in for a specific issue. I am not a technician. I relied on a certified VW service department to identify safety-critical issues, notify me of missing hardware, and return my vehicle in a safe condition. Releasing a vehicle with an improperly secured underbody panel after removing it themselves is negligent. This experience showed a lack of transparency, accountability, and basic safety standards. I would strongly caution others before trusting this service department.
