We got the Italian and chicken salad sandwiches. The basket included chips, a pickle and a side (potato salad, pasta salad, etc). Our food was ready in 5 minutes. We enjoyed our sandwiches. The cheese and bacon on the chicken salad sandwich were a nice addition. When you are done, you leave your baskets on the table and the staff will clean the table. I ordered the Ruben hood. Excellent sandwich. Wish it had more Sauerkraut! The potato salad was a little 2 sweet might be nice for some one who enjoys a sweeter potato salad but it was not for me the corn chip that came with the sandwich were slightly stale not abnormal for the south. Had lunch here today and it was SO yummy. I walk by this place all the time, just never stopped in for lunch but today was so hot and I didn't care to walk any further from work... so I had the "Hali Cali" sandwich, super-fresh, great sandwich, tortilla chips, potato salad side and tea. Nice little sandwich place This is a nice little sandwich shop in downtown section of Columbia. We went around 2:30 in the afternoon. (avoiding busy lunch crowd?) Not a real big place, and not too fancy. Maybe 15-20 tables? The menu offers a multitude of sandwiches and other light dishes- from traditional southern Homemade Pimento Cheese to not too southern (?) Spinach Mushroom Quiche- the menu has some nice choices! I ordered the HALI CALI sandwich- Turkey breast, Swiss cheese, sprouts, spinach, tomato, avocado, sunflower seeds, garlic mayo It was served on toasted white bread. It proved to be quite tasty! The combination of the toast with the avocado, sprouts, and sunflowers seeds was good! It also came with tortilla chips and a dill pickle. Maybe some other kind of chips like, perhaps, sun chips or pita chips would of made a better combination?? They also have green ice tea sweetened with honey and lemon? that was very good. Decided to get some food while waiting for a loved one who was having surgery at the hospital next door. I knew theyd be hungry once surgery was over so I stopped in here. The restaurant itself is a tad small but the menu offered a great selection and very fair prices. I had the Hali Cali sandwich which is turkey & avocado & sprouts & cheese & nuts and it was delicious. My "side" of potato salad was tiny but the sandwich also came with tortilla chips & a pickle spear so I was fine with it. I got a club sandwich for my SO & Im sure he will be happy with it when he wakes up from anesthesia because it looks delicious. I work pretty close to this place so I will probably visit again to try more of their sandwiches. Cant go wrong with a good sandwich. read more

Little cafe with good food. Nice place for lunch. Menu list is full of sandwiches and salads and a few other items . I have to say for paying $15 I left feeling disappointed. I didn't like their potatoe salad and I didn't like their slaw. The club was good but seemed really light on the mayo and mustard. Dill pickle was average, I mean a pickle is a pickle. But I've gotten better pickles from Beezer's so they're not all the same! Also, some Mexican chips came with my sandwich. Um, ok? Kinda off the wall and I definitely wasn't in the mood to eat that. I'll give 2 stars because I would return to give it one last try. read more

I think this place is often overlooked because it is right beside a famous local eatery. Go here, too. Best pastrami I've laid my lips on, and no pink rubber tomatoes here: the owner gets his from the farmer's market. He also makes a tomato bisque in the winter that is on point. read more

Let me start by saying that the food here is great! Get a side of the feta ranch to dip your chips in - you won't regret it. Also, my review includes nothing about eating at the restaurant. I have only ever gotten delivery or take out and, more often than not, they don't get the total order correct, even if you've paid extra for another side or something. My coworker and I ordered it for lunch today, for the first time in about a year (we had stopped ordering because the orders were wrong), and our orders were wrong again. We were told on the phone all orders come with chips and a side too. Neither of us received our side. Also, their chips were terribly stale. It's such a shame because there are so few places in Columbia that deliver, and their food is consistently good (except for the chips today). I really want to like this place, but I can't stand my order being wrong more often than not. read more

I had the Santa Fe Salad and a side of pimento cheese. The pimento was a little bland, but I was craving it so I didn't mind. The salad was huge! There are easily two portions in this salad, and I eat a LOT! For the price and the location, which is extremely convenient to me, I will certainly be back for more. AMAZING! Let me reemphasize, AMAZING! You could not ask for better quality food for that price. The quantity of food is more than expected. I ordered the Rueben with a swap for pastrami instead of corned beef (an upcharge but pastrami is a more expensive meat). It came with a side, tortilla round chips, a pickle spear AND thousand island dressing on the side. We ordered online and asked for delivery through eatstreet.com. The driver was nice. This is one of my favorite places for sandwiches (eat-in, to go or catering). You get a larger selection of sandwiches here than any other place that I know of in Columbia and the surrounding areas. Sides may be small but you also get the tortilla chips and pickle with the meal! I've never been disappointed with the "specialties" - the crab quiche and the spinach mushroom quiche! I placed an order at the Hampton Place Cafe at 12:17pm today for delivery. It did not arrive to me until 1:55. This place is 4 minutes from my office. I ordered soup and salad. When I did get the food it was absolutely disgusting I couldn't even eat it. I was very patient on waiting for this food and didn't really care that it was taking so long and most people would have been extremely angry. It took a long time that's ok but to wait that long for my lunch and pay a delivery and tip and open it up and I can't even eat it?! There's $16 I'll never get back. read more

The food here is always very good and freshly made. They have a varied menu as well as several daily specials, so it's easy to eat here often and not have the same thing over and over. I especially like the Hali Cali sandwich and the homemade tuna salad. Service is fast and friendly.
