HIDDEN GEM! Wow. This place is fantastic. Service is amazing food is delectable. One of the best sandwiches in Columbia. So hidden you can barely see the sign but so homey and hit perfectly.

What a yummy lunch spot! It's located right next to barre3 on Rosewood. I've been wanting to try this place for a while because of its extensive menu, and it did not disappoint! We ordered at the counter and the food was brought to our table in a timely manner. There is something here for everyone. Tons of choices and the opportunity to make your own creation! I could come back here everyday for a month and try something different each time. I finally settled on the 5th avenue sandwich with roast beef, peppers, and garlic mayo on ciabatta bread. So delicious! The garlic mayo was such a nice touch. My mom got the pesto turkey sandwich and thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be back to taste more menu selections!

Great Deli with original sandwiches - great to eat in or pickup! My favorite is the Monroe - but many good sandwiches to choose from!

You feel the local love and familiar faces of those who frequent. Being off Devine, so parking, although not as bad as other areas, still is a little challenging, but it's so worth it. I went at lunch, and it was busy; however, the service was welcoming. Again, it was a feeling of comfort and nostalgia. The menu looked like it had a lot of good options. We ordered the salmon special, which came with rice and a green salad. The food didn't take too long at all. Everything looked fresh. It almost took me on a mental trip back to Greece and how fresh those ingredients were. I should have captured the after picture of the plate. I ate every drop. Everything was so delicious, from the salad to the rice with the juices and sauce from the salmon seeping throughout. The salmon was so delicious. It was like grilled yet cooked to perfection and full of flavor and extremely tasty. Even my lunch partner enjoyed every last drop of their food. Needless to say, I'll be back to enjoy more. Also, the prices were pretty decent for the portion. I was very pleased.

The tomatoes were the cheap Walmart Roma tomatoes that need at least a week of ripening before they are good to eat. The lettuce was clean and fresh but that was it, it barely had any seasoning or dressing. Horrible. We had to wait quite a bit which would not matter if the food was good. The pita bread was probably store bought or just made cheaply. I know it is Columbia, and I have given up expecting great quality restaurants, I know the standards are pretty low here, but this placemos bad. Service was really good and the waitress was nice and polite.

The seating was comfortable, had tons of cushions so it was definitely a vibe. Our waitress was absolutely amazing. Came to the table the right amount of times and was pleasant as anyone can ever be. The food was on point! The gyro meat was seasoned to perfection. I opted to swap the rice out for their veggies and it was a great call. There were bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and mushrooms in there which complimented the meat perfectly. Their tzatziki is homemade and the perfect contrast to the dish. I'll definitely be back for lunch or dinner soon!

There was also a nice roasted red pepper and black olive salad that came with it. My only criticism is that I felt like the portion of octopus was small for $21. Then I decided to try the Boeuf bourguignon. This was definitely comfort food. A very tasty beef stew, but a bit different recipe than I'm used to for this dish. Theirs has potatoes, carrots, mushrooms, and onions. But the broth tastes like they might also use a touch of tomato paste. I could be wrong. Nonetheless, it was tasty and the thick broth was yummy on the piece of crusty bread it was served with. I'm tempted to come back and order the entree size of the octopus for $32 and see what the portion size is. Service was excellent. Very attentive.

The food is simply incredible. My husband had the Caesar Salad and the Boeuf Bourguignon. I had the Burrata Caprese Salad and the Rousseau Pizza. He gave me a shocked look when I went for the Pizza, but I'm not sure it's fair to call it pizza. Let's just say heaven on a crust! And I'm ready to go back and have the Boeuf. For dessert, we took the advice of our server and ordered the Ube Basque Cheesecake. Wow! (Pictured is the portion we brought home.) I'm a good cook, so when eating out, I expect to have a meal that surpasses my skills. And this most certainly did. The presentation was excellent. I don't give the ambiance a 10, but that's so secondary to the meal I just enjoyed. Thank you to Chef Emma and team!

The only downside about my born day is the close proximity to Valentine's day. Which can sometimes make the planning around the commercialized love day tricky... especially when it comes to restaurant reservations.... Womp womp. Backstreets Grill said they could accommodate a party of 8. They were clearly busy and with our party size we could understand. Nonetheless, we had a very loonnngggg wait, which was frustrating and deflating. We waited 4x the time the young ladies initially told us upon arrival. However, once we were finally seated things started to turn around slightly. I say slightly because we were seated on the enclosed patio, with a portable heater but several people were cold. Just to think they kept asking us and others if we wanted to sit outside. (It's February @ night). Now the food: Some of the dishes were more favorable than others and I must admit all of my personal choices were great. Appetizers: -Mussels - White Wine (My Order) -Fried Oysters (I tried) -Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna -Lump Crab Dip (I tried) -Tomato Parmesan Soup (My Order) -Side House & Caesar Salads (I tried) I personally had the Mussels, which were perfect, and the tomato parmesan soup and both made you want to like the bowl. The broths were so good. I tried the fried oysters, they were also very good, but the presentation was a little messy. The Lump Crab Dip and the Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna completely fell short and were not memorable at all and the side salads were sad. Entrées: -Cajun Chicken Pasta w/ Blackened Shrimp (My order) -Buffalo Chicken Pizza (I tried) -House-made Meatloaf w/ mashed potatoes & vegetables -Pork-chop w/ mashed potatoes & green beans -Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadilla w/ Fries -Ribeye w/ Truffle Parmesan Fries My sister and I both ordered the Cajun Chicken pasta, I added the blackened shrimp to my order, we were both extremely happy. The dish was not spicy but it was well balanced. The recipients of the Meatloaf, Buffalo Chicken Pizza and the Quesadilla were all also pleased with their dishes. The folks that ordered the ribeye and the two pork-chops were not impressed... the dishes were just ok. Our server Adrian, was pleasant, but you can tell he was very overwhelmed which sometimes didn't translate well. As the night went on we understood he was being pulled in multiple directions at once and he did good despite of it. Overall I enjoyed my celebration and experience @ Backstreets Grill. Just A Note: I notice that they can get busy so be ready to wait. Even smaller parties were forced to stretch their patience.

What was even more disappointing was that when our waitress brought the bill, she clearly noticed I hadn't eaten the sandwich and chose not to ask about it. At this price point for lunch, I would have expected the situation to be handled a little differently. We sat in the covered outdoor area, which was nice, but there's also an uncovered outdoor section with older picnic tables that don't really match the vibe of a more upscale lunch spot.
