Absolutely appalling experience -- be warned! I've stayed at countless Hampton Inn and Hilton properties for work and leisure, and I've never experienced anything remotely like this. I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn in Naples, FL, and was shocked to find a $400 "smoking fee" added to my bill -- I do not smoke or vape...This charge was completely feels like a targeted scam. From the moment I arrived, red flags were everywhere. The front desk agent was not at her station -- she was in the back doing her hair, and the strong smell of a curling iron burning lingered throughout the lobby. When she finally came out, she checked me in without asking for my ID or credit card for incidentals, which is standard at every other Hilton property I've ever stayed at. I was traveling for work, so not having that card on file caused additional issues when the fraudulent charge came through. Even stranger, handwritten "$400" signs were taped over the standard fine notices on nearly every surface -- front desk, entry doors, side doors. It gave the whole place a shady, unprofessional feel. Then I get to my room and the toilet wouldn't flush properly. I called the front desk -- no answer. Called again -- still nothing. On the third try, someone picked up, and 15 minutes later the same front desk agent shows up at my door holding a toilet plunger wrapped in a trash bag. No maintenance, no follow-up -- just me plunging a hotel toilet after a long day of work. The room itself? Easily the dirtiest Hampton Inn I've ever seen. Then the final blow -- the $400 smoking charge. I was only in the room from about 10 PM to 10 AM, strictly to sleep. I never smoked, and I never opened windows or doors. I immediately began researching and found that dozens of other guests have reported being hit with this same fee at this same location, despite being non-smokers. This is a clear pattern. The hotel claims to use "air quality monitors" in every room. I've asked Hilton Corporate for details on the make, model, calibration, and sensitivity settings of these devices, as well as their maintenance and accuracy records. I've also contacted the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and am exploring legal options because this appears to be a fraudulent scheme to generate extra revenue under the guise of a smoking policy. I strongly believe Hilton may not be aware that this property is altering posted fines and targeting Honors members with bogus charges. If this has happened to you, please report it to Hilton Corporate, the BBB, and your bank. This hotel needs to be held accountable for deceptive practices. I will not stop pursuing this until I see accountability. Shame on this property for tarnishing the Hilton name. read more

I needed a place to stay that was located on Tamiami Trail North. There's many options on Tamiami Trail but the convenience of this Hampton Inn made this an easy decision. I booked a last minute reservation using a popular travel app. I started using the app as I was parked out front but decided to go in first to check what booking a room directly from the hotel was. After too long of a wait and finding out that it was significantly cheaper for me to book through an app I then stood in a short like again. Even though both times there was only one or two people ahead of me it took too long before it was my turn. Finally though I got to my room which was fine. Clean and comfortable. I think this building is relatively new because the rooms looked to be new, not new new but definitely not in the need of an update. The next morning breakfast was great, many options including orange juice, bananas and hot food. There was plenty of seating available and the space was clean and being continuously cleaned with a very friendly worker. Not sure why the checkin process was painfully slow but besides that this Hampton Inn worked out just fine. I would stay here again. read more

There are many hotels in the area without cranky men at the front desk, with toilets that work and with active customer service. One thing that was memorable; the large serving spoon from the eggs at breakfast fell on the well trodden floor. My wife picked it up and handed to a breakfast attendant explaining where she found it. The attendant simply placed the spoon back in its cradle in front of the eggs. Yuck! BrAeakfast is generally decent. as is parking and location but I will never stay here again. read more

Stayed here for four nights in a room with two double beds. One of the beds smelled very bad. I spoke to the front desk and they said they would resolve. Unfortunately, the smell never went away on the bed, nor was the mattress replaced. I had to share the one "good" bed with my teenage son for he entirety of our stay. At checkout the manager, said that they did everything they could to resolve the problem and was sorry for the inconvenience. I am disappointed that they couldn't resolve the issue by giving us a different room early in our stay or at least compensated us for the issue with point or a partial refund. Definitely would not stay here again. read more

Came here last weekend to escape Hurricane Dorian's potential West Palm slam. Thankfully the bugger stopped on a dime and cut north like Antonio Brown heading to NE England. We partied for 2 days like drunken sailors on leave and those reviews will be forthcoming but I wanted to give a thumbs up to this Hampton Inn as it really served our purpose comfortably. Easy early check-in at noon allowed us to relax and get ready to rumble. Brought the cooler up with the perishables and loaded up the fridge. TV on for storm tracking I laid down and was impressed with the comfort of the mattress and while I prefer a firmer My Pillow it was all good and clean and spacious and a short walk to our car. They do have a pool and a small but servicable workout room which I didn't use. Breakfast was good enough would have liked bacon but instead they had home fires one day and turkey sausage another as the sidekick to eggs, Waffle machine was backed up as it takes 2 1/2 minutes to cook. And I always get frustrated with the rollertasters and have to run my bagel through twice. Great location for checking out the zoo downtown and of course our objective the many local breweries. You cannot go wrong staying here. read more

Booked in this Hampton Inn after I was called for a family emergency in NAPLES Fl... This place seems to be run by children. At the price of $400 a day You'd expect to get room CLEANED WHEN ASKED. The family emergency turned into my father passing away. With all the stress of that plus trying to get a room cleaned while we were at the wake and burial, I'm done with this hotel. !!The woman at the desk this afternoon told me that I'd have to Schedule the time !! I called last night . This morning I went to make sure it would be taken care of while we were NOT in the room. We left the room at 9:30 am returning at 3pm and STILL NOTHING !!. We are tired and just needed to rest. NOW we were told the staff was still in house. OK Where are they ???? I came to the Hampton Inn because I like this chain. Some where along the line this Place has fallen down the cracks.. I'm staying 4 days !!! to what amounts to about $1600 I want a CLEAN ROOM !!! read more

Only here for 1 night. Room was standard king, everything nice and clean. Bed was comfortable with good pillows. Breakfast was standard Hampton with the usual light breakfast items. Good stay. Good staff. Note, upon check out I did mention to the front desk staff the squeaky fan motor in the room AC unit. Not a big deal to me because I can sleep through anything. Wonderful stay at this hotel for the week of February 4-8. Was greeted by Ron upon arrival; he was friendly and helpful during my entire stay. The room was just fantastic--a 2 room, 3 bed suite. Comfortable, clean and modern. The included breakfast is above average, with lots of choices and a varying hot selection. #waffles Coffee is available 24/7, which I appreciated. I'll be returning to Naples later this year and will definitely be staying here again! Highly recommended. read more

I'm a diamond member and stay almost exclusively at Hilton properties. This property is good for the price (during the off-season), however is a little lackluster when it comes to the rooms. The rooms are a nice size from a square footage standpoint, however, the bathrooms are very small, and if you are taller than 6'0", the shower head does not accommodate. The desks are quite small too, and I do a lot of work at the end of the day as I travel for business weekly. Aside from that, the staff is very courteous. Parking is ample, and there are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations nearby. read more

Cindy was very pleasant from the time I called there until I was there to check in. Alina did very well keeping up with the breakfast Bar. Clean rooms. On the other hand the Manager Ozkan Dogan needs to go back to Manger class. I pulled him to the side to talk to him about the way you talked to one of the employees infront of people that is eating and sitting there. After I called him to the side and told him how he talk to the employee is not right. Turned around and said she didn't talk to her in the form that I told him. My mother and I heard it. He has to realize you don't talk to employees as if they he is slaves. Hilton should send him back to class. The sad part is I always stay at this one every time I go to Naples. Now after his rudeness thinking twice. Maybe the Marriott next to them will treat their employees better. read more

While checking in we were advised that housekeeping wasn't completed on a daily basis. After 4 days our room hasn't been cleaned. Dirty towels and trash are set out in the hallway for pickup. Clean towels and toilet paper need to picked up at the front desk. Rooms are dated and need upgrading. Never again. read more

Is stayed here for a few days between Christmas and New Year's. It's your average Hampton Inn. Nothing all that terrible and nothing all that great. It's location was excellent being close to the beach and other stuff. The morning breakfast was quite the disaster as they have one employee and lots of eaters. Tables are always dirty and there isn't always a supply of food. I'd stay there again...but it could use a refreshing that's for sure. read more

A fine option that probably rivals most of the local motels in prices but more than likely offers more amenities. The color scheme in the hallways made me feel like I was deep undersea or having a really bad acid trip... The gentleman at the front desk was quite pleasant despite having worked a long long day and us arriving around midnight. They even still had some cookies laying around for us, which was a nice touch. The rooms are standard albeit a little oddly shaped and the hallways are this awful shade of varying pastels, I guess to complete the So. Fla. experience or something like that. I have always been a fan of Hampton Inns. They are usually clean, comfortable, and fairly-priced. This particular Hampton Inn is no exception. The rooms are very clean, quiet, and safe. The breakfast is hot and ready first thing in the morning. With that said, the main reason I wanted to write this review is the friendly staff that work here. I have come to this Hampton on a number of occasions for business and the staff has been absolutely wonderful each time. They are willing to go out of their way to provide a nice stay. One particular morning, I missed breakfast due to an early meeting and came back right after they had closed breakfast. The lady that served the breakfast pulled out a few things for me to take back to my room, including some fruit and cereal. She certainly did not need to do this! But she did, and I am very grateful for the hospitality. read more

Update: Corporate filed a complaint against the hotel and GM. Summary: Beware. This hotel is undergoing LOUD renovations. They may or may not tell you over the phone, like us. So do NOT rely on getting a great night sleep. The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are very nice; what you'd expect from a Hampton Inn. However, as the saying goes, one bad apple spoils the bunch. The general manager (GM), Priscilla Dias, is that bad apple that left me checking out with a bad taste in my mouth. She is "100% okay with guests leaving unhappy," her words. She has no desire to make sure you're happy. She has no customer service skills & I have no idea who gave her the job of representing this hotel. My 1 star review is based on how this issue was handled. If corporate does something to appropriately resolve this, I will update my review at that time. Full review: I stayed the weekend for my birthday in a 2 bedroom suite. The room was beautiful & clean. We were out late & was awoken at 7am by the sound of what sounded like someone slamming a hammer against a pipe & dropping a ceramic toilet on a tile floor. It was impossible to sleep..and I'm a heavy sleeper & I like sleeping in. We called front desk & they told us it was renovations all hotel guests were warned of & is posted on their website. I booked through the front desk at Hampton inn in Fort Lauderdale & she didn't mention anything. Also, I don't always visit a hotels website. I stay with Hampton inn all over the world when I travel & am a very loyal and frequent customer. She said she can either move us to two separate rooms, which would separate our group... not what we wanted. I was very unhappy with that, aside from having been trying to sleep over the noise for 4 hours. But then she said she'd call to see if they'd be doing construction the next day. Called me back and said they won't be & that we can just stay. Cool. I don't have to move rooms, but I still didn't get any sleep & was upset because of that. I have a chronic medical condition & being on no sleep aggravates my symptoms. As you may or may not know, Hampton Inn is strong with their 100% satisfaction guarantee policy. From their website: "..you can count on friendly, helpful service & so much more. Guaranteed. If you're not satisfied, we don't expect you to pay. That's our commitment and your guarantee. That's 100% Hampton®." So when it came time to check out on Sunday morning, my dad was told she'd just file a complaint to corporate for us since the issue wasn't their fault. That's it. No offer to comp the first night for our trouble & being completely dissatisfied, since that's what their policy says. I was still in the room & was not happy at all with how it was "resolved." I went down to speak with Priscilla directly. I told her I was very unhappy with how she handled this issue. I reminded her that they have a guarantee that I'm entitled to because of the issues highlighted above. She lied & said that she can't comp our stay & can only file a complaint with corporate. I know very well, especially as a GM, she has that ability to honor their own hotels policy & give us the night free we didn't sleep. She said that she's there to "protect the hotel" & what happened was not her fault & something corporate has to resolve. She also basically told me to my face I'm a lier because she said I did not speak to a person in Ft. Lauderdale Hampton & it was a 1-800 number. I reiterated that I know the difference because I book with Hampton all the time, both 1-800 number & the hotel property directly, & again said no, it was a 1-800 number & other hotel properties can't access their hotels system. Not true. They do it all the time. When I asked the lady at Ft. Lauderdale Hampton Inn if I needed to call the 1-800 number, she said no it's okay I can do the reservation for you. Either way, whosever's fault it was, they're all one company & I was dissatisfied with them. I again mentioned their guarantee, which was posted right on their front desk twice. She said that doesn't pertain to what happened with us. Really? So apparently the satisfaction guarantee is only for certain situations, not about our overall satisfaction with the stay? I'm sure no one at corporate would agree with that. I then asked her, "so you're telling me you're 100% okay with us leaving unhappy?" With a smirk, she responded "yes, I am 100% okay with you leaving unhappy." Her words exactly. I gave her another chance thinking she MUST HAVE misspoken, "are you really telling me that you are 100% okay with us leaving unhappy today, even though you have a 100% satisfaction guarantee?" She again repeated with a smirk, "yes, I am telling you that I'm okay with you leaving 100% unsatisfied." At this point, I took a step back & confirmed I was dealing with someone who definitely needs customer service training & that this company needs to reevaluate her position as the face of this Hampton property. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! EXTREME DISCRIMINATION! This hotel as been one of the worst experiences I have ever had. First when I check in the staff was NOTHING but rude as hell to me. I couldn't believe the girl answered me so rudely when I asked about a digital key. That didn't even get into it. Breakfast sucks. It's horrible. I rather chew on my bed sheets which one of the beds (I stayed in a 2 bed double) had tiny blood stains all over the bed. FAIRLY GROSS RIGHT..... Found a dead cockroach in my room so I request to switch rooms and they make it sound like its the biggest inconvenience to them ever. Finally its 2am and I request my late check out as I normally always do and the lady sounds that's fine. 10am rolls around and they're POUNDING on my door for HOUSEKEEPING...!!!! And I mean POUNDING...!!! After they leave I call down to the front desk to confirm they let me know that THEY WILL NOT BE HONORING WHAT THEY SAID THE PREVIOUS NIGHT and will be checking me out at 12pm instead of 2pm.. I made all of my travel plans around this 2pm check out. With no way to change them they made me sit in the lobby for 2 hours while I waited for my ride. I felt like since I was a white young lady I was told no since I wasn't their ethnicity. Since moving to Florida, I have noticed the racism is BAD down here! and still as an 8 year, almost 9, Diamond member who's gone 5-6 months out of the year basically living at Hiltons. I have never in my life been treated like this. I called the Diamond Desk who also told me the hotel was lying about being sold out just to keep me from staying longer... Like who treats people like this, excuse the fact of being a diamond member but you're going to kick a person out after saying a late check out so the room can sit there unused.... As expected! For less than $100 per night, this is a good hotel to stay at. It's been renovated recently - carpets were new, paint, furniture, linens all looked/felt great. The elevator creaked a little, and there was a slight old smell in my room, but the room was good. My complaints - the window did not seem to block outside noise (I was on the second floor), the door had a gap, so the light came in through the crack, and the air conditioner made a loud noise during the night that kept waking me up every time it turned on. I enjoyed - good location, good price, CLEAN, and friendly staff. read more

While we were at the front desk, Priscilla greeted us and noticing that we had a newborn baby, she went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. I am a HH member and have always had a pleasant experience at Hamptons across the country. In fact, I only stay at Hamptons. I made a reservation on June 8th 2017 over the phone for July 29th 2017. I reserved a family suite for my family and I. It was for one night and it was just a nice little getaway weekend. I received my confirmation via email. I also called upon our arrival into town to see if early check in was possible. I was told this would not be a problem. So far, so good. About a half hour later I received a call from the front desk saying our room was not available. They overbooked. What!!!!! I asked what could be done. Perhaps a different room. I was trying to be understanding and would have settled for anything at this point. I was told "there's nothing we can do for you." I asked to talk to the manager and was told there are no managers available. The only people available were trainees. I decided to bypass the incompetence of the hotel and call Hamptons customer service. Customer service was upset that I was treated this way. Customer service secured me a room at a Hampton out of the area and didn't charge me. It was an inconvenience to drive further from the activities we had planned, but at least they took care of me. I recommend never, ever, staying here. The outside was dirty and unkept. If you're into gambling, make a reservation because upon your arrival you won't know if you have a room or not. I love this location. The Hampton Inn is what I call a great product. I have been to over 400 Hilton owned properties. I have stayed at Hampton Inn's, Hilton Garden Inn's, Double Tree's, Embassy Suite's, Hilton's and even a couple Conrad's. OK, the Conrad Hotel is about as good as it gets. Some of the Hilton's are amazing but some of them are also a total pain in the ass. Too big, too many rooms and if we are keeping things real, the service flat out sucks. It is very hard to please 1000 every night. Night after night after night, you know what I mean. What I'm trying to say is that I love the Hampton Inn. I've been to a few that didn't live up to the business plan that Mr. Conrad Hilton came up with but more often then not when I walk in the door I really truly feel at home. At one time I had over one million HH points and my guess is that I earned more then half of the points from visiting and spending the night at awesome Hampton In 's across the United States just like this one.
