"An Anniversary to Remember at LaPlaya Beach Resort - Where You're Treated Like a Star" Last week, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at La Playa Beach & Golf Resort in beautiful Naples, Florida. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like celebrities. It all began with Wenderson Annorat, the assistant front-office manager, whose radiant smile and cheerful greeting immediately set the tone for a warm atmosphere of hospitality. His calm professionalism and genuine delight in welcoming us created the feeling that our stay truly mattered. Wenderson didn't stop at the desk; he proactively offered restaurant suggestions tailored to our tastes and even followed up later with a phone call to ensure our room and dinner arrangements were just right. We took Wenderson's recommendation and ate at Baleen. Naples is known for its excellent restaurants, and our meal at Baleen was truly exceptional. The Property We booked an ocean-front room with an oversized balcony and views of the Gulf that left us speechless. The tastefully decorated room and thoughtful attention are hallmarks of La Playa's service. Set against the Gulf's turquoise waters, the resort blends upscale elegance with a laid-back, coastal vibe. Our room boasted sweeping ocean views, plush linens, and thoughtful amenities, fluffy bathrobes, a well-stocked minibar, and a Jacuzzi tub that elevated the experience. Dining Destinations Thanks to Wenderson's tip, we savored dinner at the Baleen, the resort's signature beachfront restaurant. What a treat the menu was! Every dish seemed to sing with the taste of fresh, locally caught seafood and exotic tropical notes, all paired with cocktails that were works of art. The staff welcomed us like we were old friends, making the whole experience feel wonderfully intimate. We also ate breakfast at Baleen. A nice touch is the toasted sourdough bread that we had with our meal. Service That Shines Personal touches abounded: seamless check-in and check-out. Everywhere we went, team members, including the valets, beamed with warm greetings, indicating a culture that truly invests in the guest experience. Moments That Sparkle One evening, we found a chilled bottle of champagne, chocolate-covered strawberries, and a handwritten note waiting in our room, a surprise arranged by the front desk team to commemorate our anniversary. Paired with the sound of ocean waves steps away from our balcony, it was a moment of pure romantic magic. Final Verdict: LaPlaya Beach Resort is not just a place to stay; it's a place to be celebrated, with breathtaking beachfront views, refined dining, and impeccable service led by Gregg Harper, the resort's general manager. Gregg and his team deliver an elevated, boutique-style escape. For anniversaries, milestone celebrations, or anyone craving the red carpet treatment, La Playa is the place. We left feeling like VIPs, with memories that will brighten our future.

Great view but super overcrowded and loud. It was over 20 minutes before we were served. Then we suffered sticker shock as drinks were $20+ and a salad + protein was $40 on average. Once was enough.

I really loved the resort, very professional staff, very attending, the cleanliness was A+ the service was awesome, the only thing i have a complaint is that for the prices they have they should upgrade the hotel. The room was clean, but the toilet paper holder was broken, i went to pull on one of the drawers and the handle came off, the mattresses were not comfortable at all, it had a hole in the middle, we got a king size bed and we were both in the middle of the bed sinking. We also got a room with a sofa bed for my 87 year old mother and the mattress was really bad, for that to say, the reservation was for 3 persons so i would say they should have some sheets pillows and covers for the sofa bed, i had to call room service around 11 pm to bring me the sheets and pillows for the sofa bed. It took like 15 minutes in which i had to call twice since my mom wanted to go to bed already after a graduation party we attended, this is to say also that the young man that came to bring the bed linen apologized 3 times which it was very nice and professional of him, Oh one important thing, the A/C was really not cold, we put the temperature at 64 and the room was not very cold, we first said it could be because it was really hot but as the night fell it should have gotten colder to no avail, but besides this incident, and the upgrade of the rooms very much needed, the hotel was really nice, the view we had was tremendous view, we ate breakfast in the restaurant and the service and professionalism of the waiter was really enjoyable, the food was A+ also. Besides all of my complaints about the upgrade, i would stay again, i just hope that they work and upgrade the rooms so i can write a much better review next time....any ways WE ENJOYED OUR STAYED...IT WAS REALLY NICE!!!!!

The hotel is not in good shape. Our room had what appeared to be mold spots on the ceiling they tried the cover. Floors were scratched. Tub had pits and rust in it. Water came under the front door. Other areas of the lobby were leaking water. It is not what you expect for almost $1000 a night. On a positive note, the breakfast and service at the restaurant was great.

Other than the absolutely perfect view for my bedroom, this place was absolutely horrible. It was like something out of a movie, where the help scrutinize you, and decides that you're really not good enough for them to service. The front desk was terrible, refusing to help us figure out how my husband could play golf at what is supposed to be a golf resort. If their course was truly closed, which he insisted, it was not, he should have helped us find somewhere else as an alternative for a place that charges $500 per night.

After dinner drinks and view of beautiful sunset.

I was in town for a conference, and was very excited to come and check out this hotel as I've heard great things about it. Upon my arrival, I went to the valet to drop my car off and ask for a dolly thing to bring the boxes in my car over to the conference exhibit hall. The valet man that greeted me was immediately rude and off putting telling me I couldn't use the dolly and that he didn't know where the conference was/exhibit hall was and I had to figure it out. He was absolutely no help and extremely rude for no reason. He eventually got the dolly and helped me find the conference (he found it immediately). The rest of the valet men were very nice and efficient. The valet line is like a chik fil a drive thru, very efficient and fast moving. The actual hotel was stunning. The bathrooms and lobby and rooms were beautiful. The pool and beach are were very nice as well. It's a beautiful hotel, that gives luxurious vibes. I had both food at the conference and food from room service/the lobby bar. The conference food was not that great. Some of it was good, while some of it was stale and had mold in it. That's unbelievable for a ritz Carlton. And like I mentioned previously, we had ordered some food from the lobby bar and told them about the tree nut allergy and a shrimp allergy for someone else. When they brought the food they told me to avoid one of the meals due to possible cross contamination, which I did. I took one bite of all the 3 other dishes brought and immediately had a reaction and had to run to the souvenir shop and buy Benadryl. This is extremely dangerous. Thank god I didn't have an anaphylactic reaction and need to call 911.

There's a variety of great restaurants and you don't even need to leave the property. Breakfast at Maia every morning was something we really looked forward to. As a titanium elite, we were bonvoying and I have to say, the continental breakfast that comes with titanium is plenty. And don't forget to have the orange juice, it's heavenly and included. Service was excellent each morning we were there. The servers can't do enough for you. Maia also has a very nice peaceful ambiance and the windows look out at the pool/ocean. If you want more than a continental breakfast with your status, you can pay an additional $15 and get all the hot food as well. And if you don't have status, you can pay for à la carte breakfast too or the buffet how you like. We also enjoyed Tesoro and Quinn restaurants as well. Our room was on the 9th floor and while it was very nice, it could definitely use some updating. But honestly, with all the great amenities, you can hardly think about needing a fresh coat of paint or new bathroom furnishings or more modern lighting. The room was still very nice. And I loved the bracelet they gave us that was our room key too! The bed was very comfy! The weather was super cold while we were there, however we found some time to enjoy the beach and pool. Our week long vacation at the Pink Shell was an overwhelming success. It has been quite some time…read moresince I have stayed somewhere that truly values customer service and experience - Pink Shell exemplifies both. Every single employee we encountered acknowledged us, went out of their way to smile, and for those providing us service were kind, friendly and attentive (minus one - hostess at Rae's needs some guidance). I honestly was blown away by it - so refreshing in a world where this is no longer common. We did a kayaking tour with Ranger Rob and he is EXCELLENT! We saw dolphins and manatees in addition to a bunch of shore birds. It was tough paddling back against the current and across the channel but all in all it was a wonderful experience. Overall Pros: - Rooms all have an ocean view. We stayed in the Captiva building and had a huge screened in patio with two lounge chairs and a dining table with four chairs. - Rooms were spacious with a nicely appointed kitchenette, full fridge, living room and bedroom televisions, and large bathroom. - Rooms and resort were very clean, well maintained, and comfortable. - Pools and beach were very clean and spacious (there are three pools, one specific for adults 17+). - Daily breakfast was delicious! Omelette and eggs made to order, and an abundance of offerings in the hot stations (potatoes, eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, and fun waffles that my kids loved), as well as toast and pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt and more. - They give you a bag when you check in that was excellent to have for bringing things down to the pool / beach such as sunscreen, water, etc... - They also gave the kids a shell bag each and sunglasses. - We arrived on Valentine's Day and they handed me a beautiful pink rose that I put in a glass air water and it opened so beautifully and lasted the whole week in our room. - Bongos was good and convenient for lunch. Rae's food was delicious - so having two restaurants was a great perk. - Walk to downtown was about 0.75 miles and a nice way to walk off dinner. We used the free tram a few times too. Just a couple cons: - People save pool chairs regardless of the large signs that say not to. The signs also say that staff will remove towels that "don't have activity" but I never once saw that done. It was frustrating to come down to no chairs available for all three of us together or in any area near the pool / sun. You can reserve chairs at $50/pair online but that seemed like not a great use of money even with the frustration. I wish the resort would hold true to not allowing saved spots. - Breakfast can be loud. Not sure there is much to be done about it but the beeping of the omelet station didn't help with the already crowded room. - Coffee was just not great. I tried - the only way it was so so was to get it iced and add some chocolate milk. It seemed watery and just not a great taste. - The service at the pool was spotty - some days it seemed like there was a regular waitstaff walking around and others it was hard to find someone. The resort could make a lot more money in drinks and food by staffing the pools better. - The dryer in the shared laundry in Captiva (floor 7) was the worst dryer I've ever used. It took from 5pm to beyond 1am to wash and dry three loads of laundry. We hated to leave and look forward to going back.
