I love this place. The only original hotel left on this strip of beach. Very cozy, with great staff. I haven't tried the restaurant yet, but I hear great things. There aren't many hotels left that have the beach just steps away from your room. No noisy, busy lobby's to trek through, it's great. I would highly recommend this place.

The food is absolutely amazing! The only disappointing part was ceviche, but everything else was ABSOLUTELY amazing !!!! The meals are prepared at its best, hot, and always tasting amazing !!! The drinks are great and service is outstanding as well. Good job!

Unfortunately this is a dying breed on Florida beaches, it's not a condo or timeshare, but a family owned and operated resort. The interiors are a bit dated but are immaculately clean, well maintained and comfortable. This place is for couples and families (10+ or teens would be bored silly) but is a quiet and subdued place. No loud music or running screaming kids. Comfortable beds, flat screen TV's, full size in room fridge and great A/C, directly on the beach. Beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas are provided for no additional charge. Depending on the package you choose for a reasonable nightly rate you can include a continental breakfast and a number of meals at the Turtle Club which is located in the resort. Food on the beach patio or in the dining room is really excellent. See my separate review. Parking is free and there is a pool on site, along with drink service provided on the beach. All of the staff is helpful and friendly. For a relaxing few days of peace and quiet Vanderbilt Beach Resort is a great choice. Note: The review by Ray S. saying they are no longer in business is not correct.

We truly enjoyed our staycation here. The room was clean and had a great view of the pool and Gulf of Mexico. We stayed in room 44. It had a kitchen and full size refrigerator. Beach chairs and towels included in the stay. I accidentally left my iPhone charger in the room and was happy to know that it was still in the lost and found. We will definitely be back again. My only suggestion it to have the Turtle club open the menu choices for Vegetarian and Vegan option. We didn't eat at the resort due to that. Other then that it was amazing!

I was in town for a conference, and was very excited to come and check out this hotel as I've heard great things about it. Upon my arrival, I went to the valet to drop my car off and ask for a dolly thing to bring the boxes in my car over to the conference exhibit hall. The valet man that greeted me was immediately rude and off putting telling me I couldn't use the dolly and that he didn't know where the conference was/exhibit hall was and I had to figure it out. He was absolutely no help and extremely rude for no reason. He eventually got the dolly and helped me find the conference (he found it immediately). The rest of the valet men were very nice and efficient. The valet line is like a chik fil a drive thru, very efficient and fast moving. The actual hotel was stunning. The bathrooms and lobby and rooms were beautiful. The pool and beach are were very nice as well. It's a beautiful hotel, that gives luxurious vibes. I had both food at the conference and food from room service/the lobby bar. The conference food was not that great. Some of it was good, while some of it was stale and had mold in it. That's unbelievable for a ritz Carlton. And like I mentioned previously, we had ordered some food from the lobby bar and told them about the tree nut allergy and a shrimp allergy for someone else. When they brought the food they told me to avoid one of the meals due to possible cross contamination, which I did. I took one bite of all the 3 other dishes brought and immediately had a reaction and had to run to the souvenir shop and buy Benadryl. This is extremely dangerous. Thank god I didn't have an anaphylactic reaction and need to call 911.

The best part of the hotel might be the breakfast. Home2 Suites probably has some of the most elevated complementary hotel breakfast at the budget friendly level that I've come across. I understand prices go up in season, but this seems excessive in my opinion. Because I am vegan and eat a healthier diet, I continuously request bananas at the complimentary breakfast buffet. They seem to be offered sporadically. This morning, the bananas offered should NOT have been. they were over ripe, rotten on some and gross. when i asked if there were any other bananas, I was met by an unfriendly "they're all the same". I took the one that looked the least rotten, peeled it and it was all brown on the inside, Went back to the bowl and one was really rotted at the stem, and another was split open. I took them out of the bowl and let the woman know that they were bad and should probably be thrown away. I went to get coffee, and she put them back in the bowl. Are fresh bananas too much to ask when I'm paying $315/night for an average hotel??

What truly sets this place apart is the people. The staff doesn't just provide great service--they create lasting relationships. Nikolaus at the front desk remembers us every time we visit, including details about our lives and story. He goes out of his way to make us feel welcomed and valued, like we're coming home rather than checking into a hotel. And Larissa, who supported our wedding, is simply a beautiful human being--kind, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making every moment special. Her warmth and care played such a big role in making our wedding day feel effortless and magical. We're in Naples often, and LaPlaya is always a highlight of our trips. The level of care, attention, and genuine hospitality is unmatched. If you're thinking about having your wedding here--do it. It's worth every bit, and I can honestly say it was the most magical experience we could have hoped for. - Calvin Mwangi & Sarah Primeau

There's a variety of great restaurants and you don't even need to leave the property. Breakfast at Maia every morning was something we really looked forward to. As a titanium elite, we were bonvoying and I have to say, the continental breakfast that comes with titanium is plenty. And don't forget to have the orange juice, it's heavenly and included. Service was excellent each morning we were there. The servers can't do enough for you. Maia also has a very nice peaceful ambiance and the windows look out at the pool/ocean. If you want more than a continental breakfast with your status, you can pay an additional $15 and get all the hot food as well. And if you don't have status, you can pay for à la carte breakfast too or the buffet how you like. We also enjoyed Tesoro and Quinn restaurants as well. Our room was on the 9th floor and while it was very nice, it could definitely use some updating. But honestly, with all the great amenities, you can hardly think about needing a fresh coat of paint or new bathroom furnishings or more modern lighting. The room was still very nice. And I loved the bracelet they gave us that was our room key too! The bed was very comfy! The weather was super cold while we were there, however we found some time to enjoy the beach and pool. The gym was very nice as well. There is so much to do.. there's even a bowling alley for those rainy days. If you're looking for a great getaway in Florida, JW is a very nice, relaxing resort for all ages, young and old. And not to forget parking ... there's a self park lot right across the street, which was very easy or you can opt for valet. Enjoy!
