Really want to give this place the benefit of the doubt with a rating of 4/5 but it's just not there. The place is HEAVILY worn - marks on the walls, stains on the carpet in the hallways, weird bubbling wallpaper, and an out of date decor in the rooms. The main concern was that upon check in there was a brown stain on the bed sheet. We were headed to dinner but the lady at the front desk went up and changed it out. Also to flush ANYTHING you had to hold down the handle. The lights on either side of the bed were out and one would randomly flash. TV had minimal channels and was beat up. To be as transparent as possible, I looked at other Hilton properties nearby in hopes of changing but the avail wasn't there so we roughed it. Positives were a nice shower head despite the discolored shower doors, and they had a peloton bike. For $249 a night, it needs to be better than this. All I will say. Out dated . We booked a room for 3 nights on the Hilton app, but after the second night, I was done and ready to leave as I felt dirty even after taking a shower. Not sure how this hotel is part of Hilton. Its old, outdated, heavily worn, disgusting and dirty. The ice machine is so gross and dirty. The front fell off when trying to get ice, the floor around it is absolutely filthy with white bath towels (same bath towels that guess use) all around it on the floor as its leaking, does the hotel not own a mop bucket? When I went back to take a pic, some of the towel were removed but still had a few on the floor. There was metal shavings on floor in front of it, not sure where it came from but hope its not in the ice. If they can't keep the easy to reach areas clean, you know the inside must be worse and full of bacteria. We got a bag of ice at the gas station. Don't understand why an out of order sign wasn't on it. The shower had mold and the shower curtain was too long and because of this, it sits in the water and doesn't dry so the bottom half is gross and yellow and still wet from previous guess. The bathroom sink had a leak at some point that didn't get fixed right away as the wood shelves are warped and damaged from the water. Oh course they put the bath towels on the shelves that are damaged so the bottom of the towels had paint chips on them. The mattress' are worn out and old. So uncomfortable that my back and hips are hurting. If your lucky enough to finally fall asleep, the train will wake you up. The fitted sheet was on inside out and the flat sheet was completely tucked under all four corners, not even really made, which is just pure laziness. The thermostat will only run on low fan so you have very little control of the heat/air. The furniture is old, dirty and worn. Should have been replaced years ago. The desk chair is so worn the leather is peeling off. The other chair was so dirty we absolutely was not going to sit in it. We brought our folding chair up to our room to use. The parking lot is small, only open spots to park was the EV parking spots unless you want to park in the back of the hotel and walk around the hotel. Not doing that in the dark. After this, there was no way in hell I'm eating the free continental breakfast with powdered eggs and rubber sausage. So disappointed. I expected a nicer hotel for $140 with one night costing $175. Being remodeled, but old rooms are old. Moldy tub caulk. Shower curtain was yellow at the bottom. Construction should not prevent basic cleaning and maintenance. Poor representative of Hampton brand. Price is cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

Very standard hotel. I like staying here because it's always consistent and also very convenient. The staff are wonderful and always greet you with a smile. The rooms are basic but they get the job done! I always stay here when visiting Geneva. No complaints! Centrally located to downtown Geneva and within walking distance to many eateries . Also, right next to the Geneva police station!!! Most of the time the rates are ok but during special times of the year (fall leaves) its pricey...too pricey! The place is clean but dated. Rooms could use an upgrade as they are worn. The employees are nice and friendly. I had a dilemma and Bridget at the front deck was very helpful. She went above and beyond to help me out! The breakfast was noting special. Its the same as other hotels ...instant food! For a $150.00 or less per night the place is a bargain...but $350.00 a night find a nicer place! read more

Good location but not standard I expected of Hampton. Granted we are just post Covid but key issue I had was with service and cleanliness . We stayed for 3 nights Cleaning and service - we asked for room cleaning one of the days and all they did was change the towels. They left the old towels on the floor and didn't even pick them up. They did not do beds, did not clean bathroom or bedroom and also did not replace used shampoo/conditioner. When we complained all the frond desk said was sorry and that they had quite a few complaints that day and also that they were short staffed. Really and we are still expected to pay full rates. They basically gave us bed sheets and said we would have to do our own beds The general bathroom in lobby was not cleaned everyday as I saw the same garbage for 2 days and you could tell bathroom was not cleaned And imagine they have stickers / signs all over that they clean with lysol and other products regularly. Not sure they adhere to that based on my experience this week Hotel look - looks dated and carpets in main hallways and stairways is dated and looks worn. Rooms - OK little smaller and A/c was noisy and couples of times slight damp / musty smell Breakfast - give credit to the 2 ladies manning the breakfast area as they were ready to help and constantly restocking food. Plus they were friendly Only request hotel carry more stronger good quality caffeinated black teas (not Lipton) Front desk - friendly and were willing to help but not sure if they had authority to take decisions to solve customer issues by providing extras or reducing rates. Few times I heard customers complaining about issues they were not solved in a day. Good location, beds comfortable. The hotel staff were pleasant. The rooms are outdated, especially the carpeting. The hot tub was not working! A major disappointment to say the least. The breakfast was marginal and the toaster is a menace overdue for replacement. It took a piece of toast and burnt it. This is one of the nicest Hampton Inns I've stayed in. The front desk staff is very friendly. They recommended some nice local restaurants. The hotel itself isn't that new, but looks as though it was built recently. The rooms are comfortable with a nice walk-in shower. The breakfast in the morning was very good. We left a day earlier than we planned. The room was spacious but the shower was like an umbrella. It had a light sprinkle and no water in the center. It was a challenge to get the shampoo out of your hair. The bathroom sink had a toothpaste cap stuck in the drain, which turned my stomach when I looked at it every am. We asked to have our room cleaned after our 2nd day. They never showed up. And the grab and go breakfast...the packaged muffins and pastries had mold on one. When the customer told the staff, she replied 'I try to weed those out'. Never again. read more

My stay at the Hampton Inn was pretty decent. It's definitely not a lake view like the hotel advertises but the lake is within walking distance. The staff was friendly, rooms were clean, continental breakfast wasn't half bad, it's within walking distant to several restaurants and bars and there is plenty of parking. Called to make a reservation the day of, it was a Wednesday and they were able to accommodate us. We got a room with a queen size bed and it wasn't huge but it was good enough and the bathroom was spacious. The pillows on the bed might be the best pillows I have ever slept on in any hotel, EVER, and I have stayed in many hotels. So fluffy and wonderful. So one thing I have to say: they have coffee downstairs in the "lobby" area 24 hours a day and they also have cookies. Yes, soft, wonderful, delicious cookies. They are enormous and stare you right in the face when you walk in the hotel. You may think you have willpower, but when you are coming back to this hotel after a night of drinking in Geneva, willpower gone. Those cookies were darn delicious. Yes, cookies, plural. They have a pool and a little fitness center too, which we didn't utilize but maybe you will. Their continental breakfast was definitely impressive, for the most part, as long as you didn't intend on eating very healthy. Their hard boiled eggs were bad, two mornings we had continental breakfasts here, both times, the texture just wasn't right. They had oatmeal in a crackpot, which was my go to because it was one of the only healthy options. The toppings they had seemed healthy until you really looked at what it was. There were "almonds" but they were coated in loads of sugar. There was cinnamon sugar and there were also candied fruit. Luckily there were some peanut butter packs and I added that to my oatmeal with a banana and was set. They had make your own waffles, turkey sausage, omelettes, cereal, bagels, muffins and toast. Their coffee wasn't my favorite, but it also wasn't the worst. They had 2% milk, skim and half and half out. I thought the rooms were a tad expensive for what they were, but it was convenient that we didn't have to get a cab to go to the various restaurants and bars in the area. They even let me leave my car in the parking lot overnight while we headed to the end of the lake and stayed in Watkins Glen. I would definitely stay here again. read more

Overall, this wasn't a bad spot to stay. We were doing the Seneca wine trail, and this hotel is at the very most northern part of lake Seneca in the little town of Geneva. Walking distance to some bars and restaurants as well. The room was clean and pretty nice. The bad parts were the mattress was as hard as a rock, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything. I mean like other people coughing, and every door in the place opening and closing. For $80 a night, I'm not complaining, but thought it to be prudent to include that tidbit of info. Along with your museum pass to this historically accurate relic (90s? 80s?) you get sample soap and a firsthand experience with the earliest of amenities, a single outlet not near the bed for charging.. You could upgrade to the immersive package like we did to soft beds, worn paint, a chair of unknown provenance and no fridge. It first of all was way too expensive. We had the suite because that was all they had for our family of 5. The suite had a pull out couch for the kids, wich is normally fine. The mattress on this was terrible. It was also right next to the AC which blew right on it with no way to change direction. So we had to rig up a way with our suitcase so it wouldn't blow right on them. Our mattress was also terrible. There was also no way to watch TV while laying correctly. It was a good size room, and the bathroom was great. Breakfast was normal continental and was good. Other people we were there with in a different room said their mattress was terrible as well. I stayed here for a wedding a few weeks ago. The rooms were clean, and the employees were very nice. I had to change rooms during my stay and an early check-in at 9 am would have been the most ideal situation. However, I understand that this is tough to to during popular weekends (which is when this was). Stayed here before visiting William Smith College. Very nice hotel with a good staff. Convenient location and the staff provided an extensive list of local restaurants within walking distance - great for the summer, but more of a drive in the winter. We stayed over Memorial Day weekend. Stay was a 5 until one hour prior to checkout. Hotel is nice and close to area attractions. Room was nice as well. The fitness center could use updating. Things were great until the last hour of our stay. We were harassed by the housekeeping staff to leave on 4 occasions despite telling them we were in the room and having the do not disturb sign on the door.
