We checked in ahead of time online. We stopped at the front desk when we arrived to pick up a physical room card. We were greeted and given complimentary snacks and bottles of water. The room was what we expected, however no microwave. I did notice there was one in the lobby, but it's very unlikely I would walk down to use it. The room was clean. There was a closet and a shower/tub combo. Comfortable bed. There's a hot breakfast in the morning. It consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes along with waffles, cereal, and bagels. I like that the breakfast goes until 10 a.m. and checkout is at noon since we aren't early risers. Staff was pleasant. The only real negative is that there isn't any laundry area for guests to do a load of laundry. There is a room with two computers and a printer for guest use. There's a steakhouse just across the parking lot. The food isn't great considering the menu prices, but it will do if you want a sit-down meal close by. read more

The room was filthy! We wiped the floor with a washcloth and it was black! We had to ask for fresh towels, they only supply them every two days. We also had a very bad experience with the rates on multiple rooms and every rate was different. Even though I made reservations all at the same time all three rooms rates were different. They charge five dollars per day per room for parking, which is ridiculous because it's in the rural area of nowhere. Just another way to attach on a fee. The breakfast was disgusting. I got no satisfaction from the manager. She basically called me a liar. I I tried calling the corporate office and got someone from a foreign country that I could not understand at all and when I asked for a supervisor I got sent to forever hold. I tried emailing them and no one seems to be interested at Hilton on what's going on in their hotels. This is ruined me for Hilton Hotels forever. read more

If a zero-star rating were possible, this hotel would earn it. I held two prepaid reservations at the Hampton Inn in Dunn, North Carolina during July 2026, booked through a third-party site (Expedia, Trivago, Booking.com, etc.) as convenient mid-way stops on the outbound and return legs of a trip. On arrival for the first reservation, I was told the hotel had no hot water. The desk clerk claimed a notice had been emailed, but it went out barely two hours before my arrival, of no use to someone already on the road. The hotel cancelled my reservation on the spot, then refused to refund the prepaid charge, directing me to chase the booking company for my own money. No further explanation was offered, and no effort whatsoever was made to help me find a room elsewhere. Thinking that a hotel wide hot water outage would be a temporary issue, I did keep the second reservation (it was too late to cancel without charge). When returning I was told the hot water was still out. This time they did not send any notice whatsoever. Only on demand did the desk clerk send an email stating that there was no hot water. Again, there was no explanation and no offer of any assistance. After finding other accommodation for the night the night manager at a competing hotel mentioned that the Hampton Inn has been out of hot water for over a month but keeps on booking reservations and only refunds under pressure. Please note that this review is only for the Hampton Inn at Dunn, NC. I have stayed at other Hampton Inns and found them comfortable and reasonable. read more

Enjoyed our stay here. The bathroom isn't as modern as the one at the next exit. Be careful getting out of shower, felt like a drop :D. Breakfast was good, but fresh fruit was not available. We also liked that there are a few restaurants nearby, including a steak house. read more

This property was very dirty and rough around the edges. There were very few places to park when we arrived, we had to park on the other side of the restaurant parallel to the hotel. The pool is outside and the majority of the year will more than likely be closed. The hallways had crumbs and small pieces of trash littered throughout. Many other dingy aspects to the decor and atmosphere. The staff and breakfast were fine. Overall, this hotel is a place to sleep and that is it, nothing else. read more

A hotel is where you hope to be able to sleep. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this morning as the Exxon next door had their landscaping company out at 5:30 am. Not kidding! We were woken up at 5:30 by leaf blowers which were followed by the lawn mowers. I called the front desk and I was told it was a fairly common occurrence (I am guessing weekly) and their guests continually complain about it. Since the noise ordinance in Dunn doesn't allow this type of activity before 7am I was shocked that nothing had been done about it. At 5:45 am I got myself dressed in a attempt to stop this lawn company, to no avail. (Sorry guests, I tried) The Hampton Inn is clearly losing revenue from this landscaping company as they have a satisfaction guarantee. 5:30 am wake-up by landscaping is not acceptable. Hampton Inn Dunn really needs renovation. The staff were very friendly but the suite was embarrassing. We booked this for a one night away from home and birthday celebration for my husband. Needless to say, the suite was not as pictured on the site. If you showed the true pictures of the couch and chairs, we would have booked at the Fairfield. I spent my time last night calling Fairfield and walking to country inn and suites only to find they were booked as there was a softball tournament at Campbell the weekend. We were stuck and my husband's birthday getaway was a dud. We were first put in unit 500 which smelled strongly of urine. It was disgusting. I found out a family who was displaced due to a fire stayed in the unit for about 2 months they and had cats and dogs and did not apparently clean and I suppose the animals urinated in the room. I was moved to 400 which did not smell but had a rusty fridge, dirty upholstery and torn sofa. Such an embarrassment and never what I'd expect from Hampton. We have never experienced this from any other Hampton. Most certainly not satisfied and had we had another choice, we would have left. read more

Hampton inn's are typically quite a step up from the $30 a night no-name motels you'll find off the interstates. This property fits that mold: it was clean, the front desk was friendly at check in, and the room was exactly as described (Mom needs a handicapped room and that's what was waiting for us). Better yet, we arrived late and they didn't give our room away! Despite being right off the elevator, the room was quiet. I slept through the night and I'm a light sleeper. The space did lack a microwave (disappointing) but had a fridge. The size was also nice and large, both the bathroom and sleeping area. Bathroom was handicapped accessible and clean. The shower water didn't even get all over the floor! Morning breakfast had a decent spread (English muffins, eggs, bacon, a waffle station and perhaps other things I'm forgetting). The coffee was also surprisingly drinkable (I take it black and notice these things). Hampton Inn's also have interior corridors, which you don't always find at roadside places. It's quieter and perhaps slightly more secure, a nice plus. I highly recommended this property to anyone traveling on I-95 heading north or south. The town has plenty of places to eat and get fuel as well. read more

I read in other reviews concerns about pet allergies. I mentioned this at the desk, and they said that they usually had pets in the rooms on the lower floors. So I got a room higher up and couldn't smell, see, or hear any signs of pets. read more

Father, stepmother, sister and I just returned from Wrightsville Beach and stopped at the Sagebrush to eat lunch. Saw Hampton Inn with a pool and were about to make a reservation when we were told the pool wasn't open and Maria had no idea when it would be. Their pool sign says open from 9am-10pm, but they have it chained. So, as a result of Hampton Inn's FALSE ADVERTISING, we will continue on 95N to a Jameson Inn or Marriott. Same man, same statement. I told him I wanted a king bed. Said no problem "we have plenty of rooms". Pulled in 2 hours later, checking in requested a king bed. All sold out of king beds. He proceeded to tell us to get back in our car and go down the road and find another hotel. There was no raised voices, no discussion. I politely asked his name, refused to give it to me. I asked the girl behind the counter what his name was. He directed her in the back room and shut the door. Needless to say, we will not be returning. Needs customer service training. The rooms felt clean enough, but not great. A layer of dust on bathroom shelf under sink where clean towels are kept. I was able to write "clean me" with my finger in the dust. I wonder if it will ever get cleaned. The furniture was in sad shape. See my photo to get what I mean. This hotel needs to be updated. They do a nice job on the lobby, but the rooms miss the mark. Hilton, the owner of this brand should be ashamed. They have a lot of nerve charging over $100/night. Also, they would not let me use the Yelp discount of 10% that showed on their Yelp listing. We selected this hotel because it seemed to the nicest choice in pet friendly options where we needed to be. It was conveniently located right off 95 which was important as we have 12-hour driving days. My first issue with our stay was using the "contactless check in" which was promoted. When I finally downloaded the Hilton app and got our Expedia booking acknowledged (no small feat), I clicked on the digital key only to find I had to show my ID at the desk! The front desk clerk, while very pleasant, seemed to not have any idea what I was talking about and I just ended up checking in there. Hardly contactless but he was wearing a mask and there was a plastic shield between us. The room was nice but not spotless. Doesn't anyone check the corners for dirt buildup? I don't set out to notice the the dust collected under the bathroom sink cabinet, but if I were paying a housekeeper, I'd ask her to pay attention to these details. The glass on the pictures also had some kind of drips running down them. I'd rather not think about it. The ice machine was broken on our floor and there was no microwave. I don't think I've been in a hotel since 1985 without a microwave! These are all incidental complaints. The main problem was the beds! My husband said it was like sleeping on a park bench, but I thought that would be more comfortable. I kept thinking it was like lying on a concrete slab with a mattress cover. I couldn't get comfortable, pretty soon everything started to hurt, and I had to take Motrin to combat the aches. I can't remember the last time I laid on such an uncomfortable bed! We left too early for breakfast which didn't start until 7 so I can't comment on that. I could overlook all the other issues but a good nights sleep in between two 12-hour travel days is very important. I'll try to find another pet friendly hotel midway in our trip. read more

I had to ask for another room because the one they gave me had hair everywhere, dirt and many other things on the carpet. They turned off all their ice machines. To top it off, the fire and smoke alarms went off at midnight forcing everyone outside and they gave no explanation or apology for the "false alarm". Also, the doors slam very loudly so if you're a light sleeper, plan on getting an awful night of sleep. The only good thing about this place is they allow animals for a $35 fee. read more

The hotel is terrible for any people with allergies. Every room smells like a wet dog due to their pet friendly policy. The creepy night manger says they don't track which rooms they put animals in, so that means pet people have their cats and dogs all over the beds. It could be a potentially dangerous scenario for those allergy sufferers. read more

About 40 miles or so south of Raleigh-Durham, NC lies the quiet little hamlet of Dunn. And just off Interstate 95 (after it splits from 40) is a great little hotel for all us weary travelers. I usually stay at Hampton Inns because I feel they often provide the best bang for the buck in a discount hotel chain. And I like the free breakfast and cookies. This particular Hampton is quite new, and you just might inadvertently pass it by if you don't know which exit to take (no. 73), because you really can't see it thru the trees. It's just far enough from the highway that you can scarcely hear any road noise - a MAJOR PLUS in my book. They have a pool and a fitness center in addition to a spacious dining area on the first floor. The rooms are impeccably clean, roomy, and quiet. The air-conditioning system was about the quietest I'd ever experienced. I just wish they had those little dorm refrigerators to put cold beer in. The only problem I had during my 3-night stay was that my key-card malfunctioned twice, and I had to go all the way back to the front desk each time to get a new one so I could open my door, a major pain in the @$$. I had to work in Benson for the week and stayed at this Hampton Inn. Room was spacious, 40" TV with 40 or so channels, free wi-fi, decent new work out room. I slept fairly well and had minimal noise during the night. Since I stayed for 5 days they gave me a fridge/micro wave for the room at no cost. The breakfast had bacon, eggs, toast, cereal, yogurt and juices. I don't have any real issues with this hotel. It was quite pleasant to stay here. read more

No ice available anywhere on site. Ridiculously small pillows on a king bed, a little bigger than throw pillows, and no extra pillows available. Lousy excuse for a breakfast. It was so bad that we ended up going out to a restaurant. So much for that amenity. The lounge in the room was stained and well-worn. I would say that it hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. The bed had squeaky springs so that just sitting on the bed cased a high pitched squeal. The General Manager offered a few point as compensation, blamed Corporate for the ice and employee training (also het issue) for the pillows. Newly remodeled and nicely done. The rooms are clean and well laid out with lots of electrical outlets and USB ports. Yes! The bathrooms are large. WiFi works well. The beds are comfortable. What else can you ask for? The included breakfast starts reasonably early at 6:00am which is a boon to road warriors who want to get on their way. Do yourself a favor and stay 3 exits north on i-95 at the Hampton Inn in Benson. This hotel is old, dirty and the "General Manager" is very smug. I stayed there in an executive suite since Monday. Each year I stay over 200 nights at hilton hotels. This lady just called me and accused me of stealing a microwave. Claiming it was there yesterday. Well I checked in Monday, had no room service and there was never a microwave, not that I needed to use one. Possibly look at the underpaid cleaning crew that only cleans your room AFTER you check out. Last I checked, you cant carry on a used microwave on Delta. Unbelievable. Next week I'll be staying at the Hampton Inn in Benson when I'm in town. Great staff there and much cleaner. read more

At 7:15 pm we received a call from the Hampton in to say that their machine "glitched" and they did not have a room for us after all. We quickly booked the Comfort Inn near by (.8 miles away) and they were extremely hospitable, responsive, and clean! read more

We have been staying here with our pets for a few years now. I'm thinking next year we will have to invite Ronald and Kenny for Christmas, as they are always working here and making us feel at home! The bed was very uncomfortable, there was 2 roaches hiding with our towels on the shelf in the bathroom, and when we went down to breakfast the next morning there was spills everywhere.
