The Fairfield Inn in Dunn is conveniently located close to I-95 and dining options are a short drive away. The front desk clerk was friendly and helpful during check in and check out. She made sure my room was ready and that it was feather free. The hotel is on the newer side. There is a small indoor swimming pool (It was always full when I was near it so I didn't get a photo) and a small fitness room with a variety of equipment. The hotel had two elevators but just one seemed to be working and it was very slow. The left elevator never seemed to be operating during my stay. Breakfast was nice with a large variety of hot and cold items available. I'd stay here again if in the area. read more

Update: Management reached out to make things right. I've received housekeeping service and was told maintenance will be by tomorrow to fix the door. I appreciate management reaching out though I would have contacted them Monday. * This is the worst Marriott stay I've had. I travel monthly for business. It's day 5 of an 11 day stay and though the desk agents say housekeeping is every other day, and I've asked twice for housekeeping, I've received no service. The door doesn't lock unless you are sure to pull it all the way shut. It's a safety issue which I've also brought to desk agents' attention twice. The room is damp, and musty and I'd gladly stay elsewhere at this point if I was able, and it didn't impact my current business trip. I've been fair and given hotel staff adequate time to address the housekeeping and safety issue but this is now beyond reasonable. read more

We had a super comfy stay at this location. It has everything we expected. Rachel at the front desk both when we checked in and when we checked out was a doll. Her positivity and helpfulness really set the tone on our stay. We were thinking king about swimming in the indoor pool and in the conversation we had with her about it she told us she would be there until til 6am. We checked out at about 6:10 and she was still there. I commiserated with her that her replacement hadn't shown up to let her go home and she responded with the highest professionalism 'I'm happy to be here- most of the other people who work here are young- I was young once and I get it- it's ok!" Stopped in Dune NC on our way to Hilton Head this was a little more than half way for us I didn't want to have to drive the 9+ hours all in one day and then be tired when we arrived at our original location. This Fairfield was really clean lots of hand sanitizer all over the front desk ladies were awesome very friendly. When we checked in I didn't realize that we didn't need to stop at the front desk just use our mobile app and go rite to the room. I don't really think that's a good idea people should have to check in at least let the front desk know they have arrived. Had one issue and that was with the mobile key it wouldn't open the door to the room. I had to go back to the front desk to get a room key. The girl at the desk tried to figure it out but for some reason it didn't work and we weren't able to get it to work. read more

My family and I visited this Hilton branch for Thanksgiving week. We usually stay close but choose here this time. I must say my visit was very pleasant. We had great service at the desk, a clean room, ice gym to work out in after all that food, and a pool for the kids to enjoy. This hotel has breakfast and it's different each day. That's nice because we stayed 2 nights so having variety was nice. The breakfast bar was clean and stocked. The other guest were even great! My kids enjoyed the indoor pool. So great because it was actually cold outside but the pool water and pool room was warm. We had the pool all do ourself both days we visited it. I will be picking this location for sure each time my family visits out NC family. This was by far some of the best service I have received for a hotel. read more

The manager flat out lied to me and said there were no more suites left even though my check in said upgrade eligible and I'm a lifetime gold elite member. Luckily there was a nice lady that checked me in and surprise surprise got me in a suite!! Bad business to lie to your guests. As if that wasn't bad enough, apparently a "circus" checked in on the floor above me around 1130pm waking me out of a dead sleep. I called down and got an attitude from the female manager. 3.5-4* out of 5. Pros: * Pleasant front desk agents. * Grab-n-go b'kfast in the am. They did offer sausage biscuits & there's a microwave in the lobby, so it was convenient. Not much of a choice, otherwise... bananas, sugary, packaged muffins & that's about it. Still, during Covid, it's appreciated. * Covid clean rooms, updated decor. * Extraordinarily comfy mattress & 4 comfy pillows, which is why I often choose FI. Sorta cons: * Price is almost $100/nt even with AAA discount & Marriott membership. * In room coffee pot is totally meh... not Keurig, like in other hotels, just basic with a couple of decaf pods. Good thing I travel with my own espresso machine. * TV didn't work. Several calls to front desk were required. When I asked for a Tech Support phone #, she unbelievably gave me a number for Wayfare.com, the online retailer.... are you kidding me?!! I finally fixed it myself by deleting my membership info, turning off the TV, then letting it reset from guest to my member name. Front desk had no idea what to do & wouldn't have gone further (contacting her mngr) had I not suggested it. Turned out her mngr said to change rooms... bloody Valhalla... I just needed to delete my info, then reset, not repack, visit the front desk & move. Bloody, utter morons. Very clean rooms. Love the smart TV. read more

Although the staff was very nice and courteous I can not recommend staying here. The first room I was given smelled of water damage and when I complained to front desk they moved me to another room which still smelled like water damage, but was a bit better. I ended up just sucking it up figuring all the rooms probably had this issue. This was about a week after the floods had hit North Carolina so I'm sure there was damage. The young lady who helped me said she hadn't heard anyone else complain about this issue, but this is definitely a problem the hotel knows about because I noticed on top of the closet there was a container labeled "damp remover." Thus the hotel is renting out rooms they KNOW have problems. read more

Well - this is the 3rd review of a very new hotel. Everything is really new and clean so it has to get a 5. We loved the layout of the lobby and rooms. The designer definitely did a superb job. Breakfast in the morning was decent with a good cup of coffee. The fitness area actually had weights - normally they'll have 3 treadmills. It's located in the middle of no where. You have to go to exit 73 for signs of life. The front desk staff were helpful and prompt. I'll remember Dunn Fairfield the next time we're driving through. read more

Overall great option. Not the cheapest around, but we were very happy with our stay. The bed was a bit on the hard side, but not enough to hurt my sleep. The pool is small, but we had it to our selves for an hour until another couple joined us. It was good for my son to get out some energy since we had been driving all day. It was nice to have an actual breakfast! Since COVID, most places have nothing. That was not the case. They still seemed to keep everything clean and kept up with Covid restriction. read more

I can't see ever staying here again. The checkin was pretty quick and painless, but the room smelled horrible. It smelled very moldy. I went down and requested extra pillows and blankets, which the blankets were available, and they stated they would run the pillows up shortly. After 30 min (mind you it's 9pm and I'm putting kids to bed), only to find one lady working the counter with a customer, and the other guy at the counter was watching football instead of bringing them up. Between the smell, the individual "working" the counter, and the AC unit had wires hanging out, which isn't cool when there are little kids in the room. read more

The location is convenient to I-95. But try to stay on the side away from the highway. The traffic noise may annoy some people at night. The desk person mentioned that to us which was very thoughtful. In fact she was very attentive. Made sure we had plastic ware and paper plates for our take out food. Made sure everyone had what they wanted at breakfast. The room was clean. The pool area and gym were clean as well. Parking lot well lit with some longer spots for vehicles with tows. read more

Breakfast was quite a nice spread including hot food. Altogether it was a pleasure! Totally great hotel. My husband and I booked here because it was part of a wedding block. Staying here, we were about 15 minutes away from the venue for the wedding. The hotel itself has been nicely remodeled. There's ample parking, an inviting lobby with seating for breakfast and lounging, and a "mini mart" with snacks and microwaveable things for eating in your room. There's a small pool and exercise area if you're inclined to float or exercise. I used the pool and it was super warm and really nice for a relaxing few laps back and forth. No one was monitoring the pool closely so we were able to drink a few beers without being yelled at. The free breakfast each morning was decent - biscuits and gravy on weekends only but a daily waffle station and eggs. Lots of cereal, juice, bagels, etc. and coffee. The rooms were nice, remodeled, and clean. We had double beds, a flatscreen TV, large-ish bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The coffee maker came with tea and coffee pods so you weren't limited. The linens were new, clean, and the comforter was faux down so it was super warm. There were about 1000 pillows on each bed so you didn't need to worry about having enough. Unfortunately, we stayed here during Hurricane Matthew so the power went out. The locals said that the power's usually out for 4-5 days whenever they have issues so we decided to leave NC early and go home. The staff were excellent with the checkout - they just let all of us leave and I got a refund for the one night posted to my account like three days later. They were super friendly and understanding about the fact that we all just wanted to leave. I'd recommend this hotel if you find yourself in the area. Only downsides: large grocery and chain stores are about 30 minutes away but there is a liquor store across the street. So... win. read more

So, we made a reservation for our team (18 people) in July. With the group contract we also turned in out CC to hold the rooms. We don't want to take chances when traveling with that many people. My assistant coach called 2x this week to confirm our reservation and check on breakfast time to make the itinerary. We arrive after our Friday night match around 11:30. The guy at the front desk doesn't have our name or school. He disappears then for 10 minutes and then someone else comes up and asks us the same thing. We then find out that they cancelled our reservation when we didn't show at 6pm. I tell them there's no way we would be here by 6pm, our game was at 7:00. She said I needed to reserve with a credit card then. I show her my paper from July that has the contract and my credit card number on it. As of now, I got all my team in rooms, squeezed one in with the trainer and my assistant and I are still waiting while the front desk tries to figure it out. This is a complete joke. Right now it looks like they want us to room with our players which is totally not okay. Ultimately we ended up having to squeeze into rooms, having our players and staff squeeze. This was a nightmare, I would steer clear on a busy weekend, you may end up without a room. read more

I didn't really know what to expect. I knew that this year over spring break I'd be driving my three kids all the way to Hilton Head alone. We needed a stop on the way from MD. So...we picked here - right in between home and vacation! It was right off 95 - as in you can totally see it from the highway but honestly the traffic sounds weren't that bad at all and our window was right on the road. It was a perfect spot to rest and recharge from the long drive. The pool was a HUGE hit with my kids - small, they all could stand and it was a great energy burner. The lady at the front desk was so nice - I think her name was Maria? - she recommended a nearby restaurant that was also yummy! We slept really well and the king suite fit all four of us great. The shower was HUGE and my kiddos also loved that. Just lots of space. The fact that there was a mini-fridge and a microwave was awesome in case we stop there again. Breakfast downstairs in the morning was awesome. The mini Belgian waffles were a HUGE HIT and they had so many choices - healthy even. Coffee was awesome too. One of the staff members even came down and greeted everyone and wished them well. It was clean, and friendly and I 10/10 would stay there again. Thanks! P.S. The bad reviews about it being dirty and gross are so off base. I really just didn't see that aspect at all. It was clean and there was always someone around cleaning. read more

My husband and I stayed one night. We arrived late and when we entered our room there were dirty (disgusting) towels hanging in the bathroom. We asked for housekeeping to come to clean the bathroom and were told they don't work nights. The clerk offered to switch our room but we had to downgrade from a king bed to two queen size. We were tired but we decided to switch rooms. The ice machine on our floor was broken so we had to go to another floor for ice. Theatre conditioner was very loud. The hand sanitizer machine by the elevator during a pandemic was empty.The place needs an upgrade and a better cleaning supervisor. The room was dingy. The staff was friendly. read more

Clean and quiet rooms. Very friendly front desk staff. Tons of parking. Safe. The breakfast in the morning was awesome too. Plenty of selection, including meat!! I was en route to VA but was so tired that I needed to find a spot for the night. All my usual places were sold out so I was very happy to find availability at this place. I will definitely be back. Stopped here on the drive from Florida to Maryland. Rates were reasonable, small but well-maintained (clean) saltwater pool indoors, and everything was exceptionally clean. Best of all, the staff was very pleasant and genuinely friendly and helpful. The checkin clerk was working a double shift due to her coworker going home sick. Yet she asked us about our trip and the weather at our home vs. our destination all with a friendly smile! The five stars are for the superior customer service we received at this hotel last week during Hurricane Matthews. Yes, the hotel is nice and clean. But it's the two ladies who checked us in that are the real gems. I wish I knew their names because I believe Marriott should recognize and reward their outstanding customer service. What a pleasant surprise! Decided to stop for the night, driving from New Jersey to Florida. This place is new and beautiful, with a very accommodating staff.Girls at the desk, could not be nicer. This is not a review of the hotel. It was nice. But the experience. After driving 10 hours we were looking forward to spending a good night sleep in old faithful. We always stay at Marriott hotels. The check in experience was adequate until we went to our hotel room. They gave us an occupied room! The poor guy was asleep already and we busted in on him and he was screaming we were screaming. Everyone was traumatized! It was mass hysteria! and all we got was an apology. So we went to get another room. They wanted to put us in the room next to the guy we just walked in on. How is that ok? So they took us to another room and it was locked from the inside. After the third try we finally got into the room. I spoke with the manager on duty Rebecca and she was nice enough but the stain will forever be on this hotel and will take extra strength bleach to remove the vision of this poor guy jumping up in a panic. read more
