I went back to seek help but they were both on their phones. I went back and seared through other isles and departments. Nothing. I went back to the front of the store to ask for help. It really doesn't make sense to me and honestly, I don't believe their comments. I've never experienced, nor even witnessed any issues as such that would warrant a single start rating. In particular, the girl working the paint section of the store was very knowledgeable and was more than happy to answer any questions I had about paint, primer and best painting practices. I'm a thorough amateur at this, so all of the assistance she provided was invaluable. I found the prices to be a bit higher than Lowe's/Home Depot but to me the service more than made up for the couple dollars I would have saved. I will be back.

My wife returned to buy covers for the firepit and chairs, and again was offered help with measuring the covers and chairs, a level of service I would never expect at a Home Depot. I'm sure mileage will vary depending on who is working at the time, but just wanted to say kudos to the folks who have been working here on our last few visits. It felt more like shopping at a smaller retailer than a big box.

Bill you were awesome and helpful.Really 20 bucks for the truck I feel it was a steal. Have rented from a truck rental company down the road and seeing the Home Depot truck was night and day. Has easy fold down gates and steel plated to withstand scratches. Definitely not going to get whacked paying for a scratch in that bed just bringing lumber home. Off to the lumber section. Replacing decking at home a bit confusing when I got in the lumber section. Not because of the layout. Just me trying something I wasn't 100 percent on what type of wood I needed. Help was right the to answer my question. I felt like da man now with my cart of wood and off to the pro desk check out I go. Pro Desk yup. No clue what I was doing but I was going out that way. Told the cashier I needed a section of fence that was outside. She looked it up and checked my order out. So I got the rental truck and my cart of lumber at the contractor pick up area. Loading all my lumber. This young guy comes over in a bright vest. It said something like pro helper. Pro loader or something. He asked if he could take my cart for me as it was empty. I tell him I'm going to use it to grab a section of fence. He said if I already paid for it he could help he load it. I show my receipt and we pick one out. It was awesome to have someone right there to help with that awkward 8x6 foot fence. Heck I was so happy to have an extra hand for that . I should have put a big S on the vest ! Way to lend a hand.. Honestly thanks to everyone . I was very impressed.

What's more important a personal conversation between two Home Depot employees, or the customer? That's what I'm trying to figure out. And I see it a lot, I know it doesn't take much to become an employee at Home Depot, but putting the customer first over personal discussions between each other, I'd say would be more important. Do better.

Update: Business owners contacted us, apologized and mailed us a check for our full refund…read more(received). They also provided us with a $100 gift card to compensate for our experience. We are supporters of local businesses. Our experience with Bemisters, however, has been among the worst experiences we have ever had with a business. We ordered adirondack chairs earlier in the year. Because of the color we wanted they were special ordered for which we would have to pay shipping. We agreed. Roughly 2 months after we ordered them they were delivered... to the store (not our home as we'd been told). We went to pick them up and discovered they were not the color we ordered. Store employee confirmed they were the wrong color - manufacturer error. They suggested we take these while they processed a replacement order. We did. Over the next 2+ months we followed up with Bemisters several times on the replacements. No one could give us status on the replacements. When follow up calls to us were promised they were never received. We finally got tired of waiting for the replacements, we called and said they should cancel the replacement order and we were returning the incorrectly colored ones for a refund. Store employee agreed. At first they said they would pick up the chairs at our home. They never did. We ultimately dropped the chairs off at the store (pictures attached). Store employee acknowledged the condition of the chairs (like new). We were told because of the time that had passed since the original order they would have to issue a refund by check (instead of back to our credit card). After two weeks without receiving a check we followed up by phone with the store. Now we were being told that the chairs needed to be shipped to their other store to determine their condition and decide whether a refund would be issued. Absolute nonsense. When we commented on the horrible customer service we were receiving, we received a sarcastic "that's what we strive for" from the store employee. One way or another, we will get our refund. And we will never do business with this business again.
