I definitely enjoyed the nice tour around this big facility, plenty of information and history behind the different kind of candies. All types of different machines and plenty of pictures and displays of different kinds of candy. The Hammond's candy factory is definitely a place to check out with the kids.

What a great little candy shop venture if you happen to be in Denver, CO. We booked our tour online but today you could have shown up and been fine. We arrived a bit after 1 pm for a 1:15 PM tour. They announce the tour start over the loud speaker. The tour is about 30 minutes long. We got lucky and saw how the huge vat of candy is poured out and flavors added. We also saw the candy get pulled. A nice lady in packaging made hearts with her candy canes and came to the window with a huge smile and wave. We received a large candy cane at the end of the tour. We made our purchase and was out of the shop by 2 pm. It was a great experience and totally free.

Hammonds was bought out in 2024, and their customer service and product line has gone to heck in a handbasket. I have shopped at Hammonds since 2002 when I moved to Denver and found their handmade candies a must gift at Christmas time. Even after having moved from Denver in 2015 I have continued to order for holiday giving for myself and my business. This year I again placed an order, many of the classic items were not available or repackaged. I ordered a few things I hadn't ordered in the past and upon inspection found the items actually were mis-labeled (the items I received in a sealed commercial package) where the item was not as pictured OR described on the package, and the expiration dates were a few weeks away. The website did not indicate these were 'seconds' and blatant mis-labeling could be a health hazard. Upon writing the company (and expecting a refund on this very small portion of my order, even if they wanted the product back. Instead, I received a reply from Allison that pretty much said, too bad. The sell by date being less than a month away was within the usable lifetime and no mention that they were described inaccurately. I'm sorry to lose a trusted local business that has made the holidays special for so long.

$1.50 for a tiny tasty tangy treat.

I love the licorice hard candies. I have one a day. I purchased 4 cute cans of them and sorry I didn't buy more. Service was helpful. The place is cute & clean.

First of all the candy is delicious! I saw old fashioned candy my mom always put out for Christmas. The chocolates are wonderful! We took a tour and it was fun to learn how they make their candy and the history of the business. The store is filled to the brink with all sorts of delicious goodies. We got right in on our tour and It was a friendly and fun atmosphere. Our tour guide was informed and funny in her presentation.

It's so nice to know that a free factory tour still exists! I've been here before but never with the 2 and 4 year olds. The tour starts with a 10 minute video that gives the history of the candy founder and an overview of how everything is still handmade by the 300 employees. Then there's a walk through the viewing areas overlooking the factory. The whole process is very interesting and the tour was short enough to keep the littles entertained. At the end, each person gets a giant candy cane as a sample and the tour let's out into the store. There's a fudge/chocolate counter where our guide, Erik, boxed up our purchases. Then we browsed the store and found so much more we couldn't live without. The staff was friendly and we all had a good time. Tip: The tours are by reservation only but they have so many time slots each day. Make a reservation on their website.

Love it. I like begin my review by giving the tip about the visit. First thing to do is make appointment of the visit to see the availability of the tour. During the visit, you can look at their oops and sale candy. Oops candy are the candy are the candy that make incorrectly or edge of candy. They are good price. The tour takes about 45 minutes. You will enjoy the history of the candy factory and sample one candy cane. It is interesting to see how the candy made. The tour end in the sale store. I got some taffy strips and oops candy. Those are affordable candy.

I was not aware Hammond's was so close to home. I actually received a few samples in a recent large Yelp event at the Stanley Marketplace and really loved their chocolate covered biscuit/biscotti and their lemon cake... decided to look them up and realized they offer free tours on site. It's really nice to see that this candy place has been a Denver staple for so many years and will def be on the top of my list when I'm looking for local treats to bring friends. I remember getting a gift box from work that was shipped to me from California and one of the items inside was Hammond's caramel. LOL! The tour was fantastic and we got to see how the candy was completely hand made. The gentleman that guided us through the tour was pretty funny and he helped me ran all over the store to find the lemon cakes as they had very limited stock. I got some of their strawberry marshmallow and they were so soft and tasty. Not too sweet! Highly recommend you to come and check them out. Support local family owned business!

The factory tour (FREE!) was really neat. It was fun to watch their staff make the candy by hand. The store offers a wide variety of treats in all price ranges. A great stop for candy fans of all ages.

I love candy and mom and pop vibes and this has both. The caramel marshmallow is on my vice list and the lollipops are delish. Fun for field trips w the kids. Or by yourself.

Every single visit is super fun! I love bringing out of towners to tour Hammond's and see a piece of Denver history. And the tours are free, the cherry on top! I stopped in to pick up a few candy bars for the holidays and was warmly greeted by staff who made the shopping experience incredibly unique staying open a little later for me. I'm beyond appreciative of their time and consideration. Last year we brought my nephew as a surprise birthday gift and literally gave him the 'kid in a candy store' experience - unlike any other birthday gift he's received. Plus the staff continued to shower him with birthday wishes and candy canes! Not sure it gets much better than this. Thank you all for your continuing kindness!

We were in Denver for a few days and looking for fun kid's activities. I read about the free tour at Hammond's candies and we gave it a try. Parking was super easy and we showed up at our reserved time. We watched a video, which was a little hard to hold her attention for very long. Then we visited two different areas to watch candy being made the old-fashioned way. The tour ended with a huge candy cane made in Hammond's Candies. My stepdaughter's favorite part was the enormous candy store at the end of the tour and we picked out a few treats for the family. Such a cute place and it was free! I'd recommend it if you're looking to fill a little time.

We took our kiddo to the free tour of the factory and had a great time. I found it through Cheap or Free Denver website for something to do during winter break. Hammonds has been around since 1920 and is sold all over the country. It's short at 30 minutes and keeps your attention at any age with lots of live candy making behind the glass windows of their factory. The best part is at the end when you can roam around their candy store. Many deeply discounted "oops" products that didn't pass the visual test but are delish! Hammonds makes high quality candy and sweets and we were so pleased we made the drive. Don't miss it!

This Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory inside Denver Pavilions on 16th Street Mall between Tremont and Glenarm is small, but they have so many delicious chocolate favorites to choose from. How to order your chocolates is kind of like a deli counter in a grocery store - you select your chocolates of choice and then you pay once you complete your purchase. It's that simple. I ordered a chocolate caramel square, a chocolate s'mores square, and picked up a small bag of chocolate malt balls. I really wanted to order more but I'm trying to watch what I eat these days. I wanted to get a picture of these yummy chocolates, but I ended up consuming all of them back at the hotel in one night. Both the caramel and s'mores squares were difficult to bite into at first, but they were still delicious and very chocolatey. The chocolate malt balls reminded me of those chocolate whopper candies, but way better and way bigger. I want a chocolatier just like this back home in Las Vegas. So, so good!
