Cinnamon roll

Hammerhand Coffee is such a vibe! The space is beautiful inside warm, inviting, and perfect for relaxing or catching up with friends. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. I tried their warm cinnamon roll (so good!) and decided to try something new the coffee milkshake and it was absolutely divine. Definitely a new favorite spot!

The honey orange lavender latte over ice is stunning. The space is open and inviting, and the staff is always super kind. There is usually plenty of space to set up and work or study. Hands down the best caffeine experience in Liberty.

This coffee shop has good coffee, a variety of pastries, and more food options like burritos and sandwiches. There are not many other coffee shops in the area so it can get crowded inside but they also have a table outside. You can usually find people chatting inside and others working/ studying. The staff is quick and friendly. I personally really enjoy that they do have a seasonal drink menu for more fun options.

Great place! Only drawbacks were how busy it is and it's not a big place, so it felt crowded. There's also only 1 public bathroom w 1 stall, so the wait for that is long and annoying. But the coffee and food were fabulous! The Cinnamon Vanilla Iced Latte was Horchata-esque, which I was hoping for. Delicious! Love how I could taste the flavor AND the coffee- one didn't overwhelm the other. The cherry cheese danish was filled with decadent cream cheese and juicy plump cherries, and the breakfast burritos were perfectly grilled and stuffed with yumminess. You get your choice of bacon, sausage, or chorizo. Staff was friendly. Lots of outlets for laptop working. Free water & cups are available for everyone- always a nice perk. Another review on here mentions that they stay open until 8:00, but they no longer do FYI. If I'm ever in Liberty again, I'll likely come here again to try another coffee and/or treat!

There's no other place you should be grabbing a brew or buying beans in Liberty, period. A local roaster, we only found out about them through another shop (Apogee in Olathe) who sells their beans. Hammerhand offers a subscription plan where beans are delivered directly to your door on a regular basis for a much better price point than local coffee bought at other retailers. (Looking at you, Whole Foods) The interior is modest and could use sprucing if they ever want to compete with more "aesthetic" shops in the metro. Every resident in Liberty should be frequenting this gem on the regular!

Best caramel latte in town! Also love a light breakfast of protein bite or bagel. Fun cafe with lots of character. And workers are always super nice and welcoming.

This place took ahold of me the first time I got the chance to try it! Ever since I've thoroughly enjoyed getting to come in here and enjoy a latte and a pastry or food while I study. Anything I've tried on their menu is tasty, they roast their own beans in the back which you don't see at alot of local spots that aren't downtown! It's a great spot to work or study if you need a place away from home. The burritos and paninis are fantastic, and the drinks are my favorite in the area! My go to is always just a cinnamon vanilla latte. I don't get the chance to just sit down enjoy my coffee usually I'm on the run, so it's great to actually be able to have a quiet space to enjoy it in and this is it! After school on the weekdays it does get loud in here as a bunch of school kids come and get smoothies and whatnot but other than that it's pretty lax. Highly recommend!

Iced Caramel Latte and Brown Sugar Cinnamon Poptart

I was recommended Hammerhand Coffee about a week ago and decided to check it out since I was up North. When I arrived the parking was easy and accessible. When we walked in, there was not a ton of seating in the small area and it was pretty full. There is some outdoor seating however it was pretty cold out today. The shop stays pretty loud when it is busy as the space is small. Other than the little seating, everything was amazing. I got a caramel latte half sweet, a protein ball, and brown sugar cinnamon pop tart. The coffee was solid and the pop tart would've been even better warmed up. I would definitely check it out again. Lots of goodies and coffee grounds to choose from inside as well!

Decalf beans

Their specials are worth ordering today I enjoyed a Raspberry White Chocolate latte. Best limited edition flavor yet. My usual is the Vanilla Cinnamon Flat White. They have a great selection of dairy-free options too. Now for the serious coffee connoisseur, their beans! I will have to admit I am a coffee snob. I am taking single origin, precisely measured, and timed pour over. Hammerhand has the best single origin beans in all of the Kansas City metropolitan area! For those less particular about their beans and those who drink faux coffee (decaf), their decalf is pretty good too. Very flavorful and is the only decalf I have found to be worth drinking. ( I did mention I was a coffee snob, didn't I?). I enjoy working or having meetings here because it is a bright and always clean. During good weather I like to sit on the sidewalk bistro tables. Great service always and latte art! Very personable and timely delivery of my favorite beverages!

Their espresso macchiato is on point. Best enjoyed in a corner window hightop. I think that's all I need to say. But yelp insists I go on.

Great coffee, their wild berry pastry is fantastic. However I can't incorporate this into my daily routine due to price. 4/5 stars.

Hammerhand is easily the best coffee in Liberty and in the Northland. Plus, the environment has a great feel to it.

When we walked in, I didn't feel a sense of community per se, but the staff was friendly enough. Maybe that's during other times. This was about 9am on a Saturday. I ordered a lavender latte which was delicious. After reviewing space options, my friend and I decided to go upstairs and sit in chairs by the window. They've done a great job of making the space feel comfortable whether you want to be at a larger table with friends or be a little more secluded. They do have a room with games as well. You can also bring in your own food too since they don't currently have a food menu. I'm excited to return at some point and hopefully be able to sit outside when the weather is nice. We also ordered a couple specialty drinks to go. The black velvet and the Florida man were both very tasty as well. Recommend!

Holy Grounds Coffee & Book Shoppe - First view walking in. Used book shelves

Holy Grounds Coffee & Book Shoppe

There are so many amazing coffee shops in the kansas city area, and every time I try a new one it…read morebecomes my favorite. This one was no exception, but I do believe it might remain the reigning champion. First of all it is a coffee shop in the basement of a church, and its name implies that it is religious. So the reviews that act surprised or give lower ratings for that reason are silly gooses. The ambiance is outstanding! It is a whole vibe. You are surrounded by books, some of the tables have pew seating, there is a kids area, they sell T shirts cheap ($7) and used books at an amazing deal. New books are priced as marked with regular retail pricing. I was shocked at the number if new hooks they had. The crowning jewel for me was they have natural house made (or local bought) syrups so you are not getting a run of the mill commercially based anything. I expected that to limit their menu but it didn't! I had the caramel crunch chai, hands down best chai I have ever tasted. I wanted to chug it. My friend loved her drink that had winter mint! I also splurged on a winter pomegranate spritz and cake pops to go. This is a coffee shop where you come in, slow down and enjoy the experience. I do not recommend this place if you want a quick coffee to go. The Barista was exceptional and she put time and effort into each drink. She did get backed up because she was all alone when a coworker called in and got slammed! She was clearly overwhelmed but never once rushed a conversation or made any of the customers feel like she didn't have time for them. Rare beauty in this rushed world we live in. She encouraged checking out the gorgeous sanctuary and stained glass windows upstairs in the sanctuary and shared stories about them. I never once felt like I was in a church basement- if that makes sense. It was warm, cozy and inviting. This is my new weekly spot! PS the kids area has a full tote of scrapbooking stuff, and the tables all have cards where you can write up a handwritten note and they send them of somewhere to spread joy and kindness. It does not get better than this.

I had assumed that Holy Grounds Coffee had taken the former St. James Catholic Church and created a…read morecool coffee shop in the building. The last I knew that the space had been an events / wedding hall, a B and B and vacant. Little did I know was that it had been reformed as an Anglican church and the coffee shop was being ran by the church in the basement. The vibe was just kinda weird...it's basically a cluttered Christian book store and gift shop serving coffee and sandwiches. The staff were polite but not very welcoming; I felt like I was intruding on a private function that didn't want me there. I took my Mocha Cream Breve' and went out on the patio for some views of the beautiful historic structure. When asked about their source for coffee beans, I was told "we get em from someplace in Arkansas". OK!?? I'm sure that some demographic here in the bible belt will find this basement quaint and charming, but it just gave me a desire to go spend my money at a more secular venue.
