I love the concept of houses turned into actual coffee shops. There are a few around the metro that work well. This one, however, tries to do a bar along with it, and I had no idea that it had this aspect to it. That being said, when I came here I felt not like the ambience was suitable to read, work, or study. The bar noise was evident since the room adjacent to it was not closed off. The house and the rooms seem nice, but I would add a bit more comfortable seating. The latte I had which was the orangey thing wasn't very tasty as it had too much orange zest, but I am sure other lattes may be better. The barista/bar tender was nice and accommodating.

Lovely coffee house on the quaint streets of downtown Parkville. Love this old house turned modern kava coffee shop. 3 floors with plenty of cozy nooks and even little hidden patio areas. Plenty of space to hold a meeting or book club. The owner was so nice and explained a bit about kava. I love that he asked everyone's name and remembered! The only thing I would suggest it providing bakery goods!

We stopped here while looking for a spot for desserts. I read in the reviews that they had cookies. Alas, they did not have cookies (did have a few pastries that were delicious) but we were introduced to Kava and had a great time hanging out and chatting with everyone around us. The vibes were a 10 out of 10- we felt super comfy there even as newbies. We had multiple drinks and even got a few to-go! The staff was amazing and we will 100% be back!

Deviant Kava has to be my new favorite café in the area!! Between the coffee, matcha, service, and atmosphere, they have everything. A friend and I came here to catch up and ordered an iced banana bread latte and iced banana bread matcha. Not only was the barista who took and made our orders super kind and helpful, but the drinks--delivered to our table--were SO GOOD. We love a shop that makes everything in-house! There are so many cute and cozy places to sit between the outdoor patio and deck, game room on the main floor, and upstairs seating areas. Whether you're looking to go solo, chat with friends, or get work done, there's somewhere for everything. Deviant Kava was a 10/10 experience, which justifies the price in my opinion. Nothing beats homemade, quality, and locally-owned businesses!

Gorgeous new spot opened up in Parkville. An old home, turned wine house, turned coffee shop. Kudos to who did all the work repurposing the spaces. So warm and inviting! I almost didn't feel cool enough to be here. Tried the Florida Man and a Raspberry Mocha. Both were done with such smoothness, had my heart singing Hallelujah. Signed up for the frequent flyer, cause why not. I will definitely be back to try new items. Welcome to Parkville.

What used to be a multi level wine cellar/house has become a third space dedicated to N/A life, which is a total 180. Their banana bread latte didn't taste anything like banana, which was pretty disappointing. But they are known for their kava and community hangs! Well renovated, great staff!

What a lovely, cozy coffee shop. You are immediately greeted at the door, visible menu with a delicious specialty menu. Had the black velvet latte and it certainly was delicious. Various seating throughout the coffee shop, really hit the at home vibes. Had the opportunity to speak with Wes who I believe is an owner. Great time getting to know them and the plans for the coffee shop in the future! Excited to come again and try more of their specialty menu. Vegan friendly.

After several visits over the years, I've only had their coffee and pastries, not their cafe food. The interior is cute and there's often a queue upon entering to order at the counter, but don't let that intimidate you because it moves fast. I recommend getting some of their water on tap (both still and sparkling water are available) if you have to wait! If you're queer like me, you'll likely be drinking a cold black coffee and they have options! They have a regular cold brew in 3 sizes, a cold brew of the moment / seasonal (ask about it!) and a cold brew shandy for something different. My partner and I got two different cold brews on tap today, the original and the Seasonal Single Origin Honduran one. The single origin Honduran was better, but their original was good too. There's a lot of seating, but it's usually taken up, so I tend to just take my coffee to go. Expect to walk out for around $6ish a cup. They clearly care about providing you a good experience with a strong cup of coffee. Give them a shot if you're in downtown Overland Park!

A father and daughter duo next to me showed up in a dandy double breasted suit and a princess dress. I wish the food was as good as the vibe. The coffee, while decent, was lukewarm and the scone I got was stale and dry, coming close to inedible. This, at a cost of nearly $11 after tax. It's near terrible food definitely doesn't stop people from coming in, again, you are in one of the nicest areas of downtown OP and have limited coffee competition, so I guess food quality isn't your number one concern.

We loved the little set up with a great amount of seating, a clean bathroom, and outlets for people who want to study or get some work done. We were a little hungry and got the empanadas and both tried the Yerba mate. We've never had the traditional yerba mate and were excited we could try it here. Once our order was ready one of the employees was happy to explain to us how to properly drink the yerba mate. She was patient, kind, and professional the whole time. There's definitely a trick to drinking it without getting the tea leaves through the straw. As we enjoyed our snack and drink we could tell the caffeine kicks in a little later. So, if you're up to trying traditional yerba mate, be aware that you'll get a gradual burst of energy a little later. I personally loved the decor and the atmosphere here. They had little knick knacks you could purchase, a small refrigerator with items to take with you as well. I got a couple of key chains for my sister and myself and my boyfriend and I have already noted that we want to come back here the next time we're in Kansas City!
