Inside the Agrosy Casino, I used to frequent this shop when I did non-profit work in the City. On a…read morerecent visit 8/8/2021 I was shocked and bitterly disappointed to find, their former executive pastry chef was gone. It was made to sound like it was a recent event until I started digging. The types of pastry's completed has shifted to more breakfast style donuts and bakery style options. We got a cherry Danish (just okay). Compared to the mouse, cheesecake, tiramisu, and plethora of top rate deserts this place used to have. Its a shell. I know from speaking to the hotel director, it seemed pretty clear they were going to do things on the cheap and keep it the way it is. Here's hoping I can shame them into getting another executive chef and restore Zoe's to its former glory. 1 +, they still carry the "Argosy Blend" of the Roasterie Coffee (a terrific local roast) and sell bags (went home with 2) and got two cups of coffee they brewed. [Fist Pump YES!] This was one of my favor places in KC/Riverside Missouri and I wanted to do some research as to what happened. The Chef started a culinary school which is also listed on Yelp however sadly closed in 2016. It's an interesting story to follow as the Chef really seemed like an inspiring person. I dropped a few articles I was able to find. In the meantime, locals and visitors alike, keep putting pressure on the Argosy to restore this coffee shop to what it was. It was truly a 5 Star back then. Not a day went by where I didn't stop in twice a day. https://www.feastmagazine.com/the-feed/article_7143c462-574f-11e5-a823-1b2935ef3bdb.html https://pitchengine.com/pitches/9d8e5921-9047-4973-8c6f-0a3bbe17da6f https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-nibble-nook-kansas-city

After living in Lawrence for almost 10 years, I wasn't aware The Merc expanded and added a location…read morein Kansas City, Kansas. Opening in August of 2020, during the thick of a global pandemic must have been difficult. Nonetheless this community made it happen! Unfortunately this location will be closing permanently in 7 days so this review feels differently to write, but I wanted to make sure I took time out before the end of the year to recognize an amazing business concept. The Merc Co+Op is more than your average grocery store, unlike corporate chains they are completely independent owned by the community that shops there (and by you, if you choose). The first storefront opened in 1975 in downtown Lawrence with just one employee and a committed group of volunteer member owners. Over the last 50 years, The Merc Co+Op has grown from a single employee to a staff of nearly 100. The Merc Co+Op provides our community a place to shop, gather, eat, and learn by offering real food and sustainable products at reasonable prices through cooperative ownership and responsible commerce. From the kitchen use to the classroom events this space was needed and I'm glad the Merc saw this vision through. Unfortunately, I believe that with the pandemic and the economy right now it's hard for families to afford making an entire meal with the prices local farmers charge. Maybe this concept would've been better in a different location? Although, I live in the KC metro area July was my first and last visit because it seems out of the way compared to other stores I have to grocery shop as well. It could be a number of things, but it doesn't make it any less painful to let go of a great place! I really hope this isn't the end of the The Merc Co+Op franchise, but a pause before something new and just as meaningful blossoms. I hope this review is a moment to recognize everything this business means to many of us. The impact, memories and community won't disappear with the doors of this location closing. Thank you trying your best and creating opportunities for us to have food that is nourishing to our bodies. Forever grateful!!!

Nice selection for a small supermarket. But the prices are crazy high. Almost $2 for a chicken pot…read morepie that's like .89-.99 cents elsewhere. But I guess being in the middle of downtown KC Kansas that's to be expected.

You won't be disappointed trying this boba shop! And the magic here is not just the drinks. The cute games, the decor, and the amazing staff make this place feel special. I missed their 2 year celebration because of surgery, and they still saved one of their limited drink holders for me. Who does that? It was the sweetest surprise and really shows how much heart this place has. If you love great boba and being treated like you matter and not just a number, this shop is exactly that vibe. Plus I have literally never had anything here that tasted bad, and that includes their free lemon water ha!

The coffee served is Vietnamese and for the drink options they offer you can have it with or without boba. I chose Creme Brulee Lover a Signature Phin Drip drink. Unfortunately no control over the amount of ice. I still tried it but was not happy there was so much ice. The coffee was very prevalent but I was well acquainted and delighted in the flavor.. caramel. My mom chose Strawberry Matcha Latte which was fashioned in a boba cup and tremendously delicious! The strawberry flavoring was sweet.
