I visited this restaurant located inside a food hall during a work trip to Mobile. Maybe things have changed but they no longer make homemade onion rings. The cashier indicated their fries are also not homemade. Regardless, I was here for mainly 1 thing, their burger. I tried the make your own hammer and asked for the triple. This comes with 1 side, so I chose the onion rings since I thought they would be lighter. Turns out not only are they frozen, they're also heavily breaded....and I mean extremely breaded. The burger patties are 4oz each, so my triple was 12 oz. The burger was delicious since I added so many toppings, and they went together well. Bacon, cheddar, fried egg, grilled onions and jalapeños, and bourbon bbq sauce. Along with mayo, and LTOP, this burger was so huge, I needed a fork to even eat it. I only ended up having 3 onion rings and decided to throw the rest away, they were just not good. For drinks, well they just have bottled beverages, no fountain drinks here so I ordered a bottled sweet tea. For around $24, this was a very nice meal to start off my work trip to Mobile.

Located in a food hall, Hammered Cow has an easy-going vibe -- think counter service with open seating in a shared space, sometimes with music and other food vendors nearby. This makes it perfect for a casual lunch, quick bite with friends, or a relaxed dinner.

Hammered cow is in a small food hall called the Insider so it might be easy to miss. The smashburger is huge and definitely worth the money if a little pricy. They don't skimp on the condiments so you're getting a full sandwich. I got the specialty smashburger of the week - can't recall the name but it had jalapenos in it. Definitely worth checking out for burger afficionados.

This is probably the best smash burger I've had in the Mobile, Eastern shore area. It comes on a huge 5" bun. The meat covers the entire bun. The onion rings were really good and always fresh. The service was excellent. I've been there twice and plan to go back. It's definitely worth the drive over from the eastern shore.

I eat a lot of burgers. They are a top food group in my Yelping. Had some great ones coast to coast and internationally. But I think the sriracha bourbon burger I had last night here is the BEST BURGER I've ever had. If it is was not the best (it's hard to remember them all), there is certainly no way it can be topped. The smashed edges of the burger were amazing. Fries and onion rings were solid. And the queso bacon loaded fries were easy to gobble down. Cannot wait to be back in the area. Worth getting off I-10 for this place if passing through on the way to the beach. Located in a food court and you can get adult beverages in the shop across the way.

Fries were delicious! Was in town for business came across the Hammered Cow and decided to give it a try. I ordered the basket of FRIES only, but they were great! This is a must try will visit again.

Pound that beef!! Babyyyyyyyyyyy! This is the burger to rival all other burgers. The burgers are made fresh. The meat is not frozen, and the best part is the burgers taste fresh-not like hamburger meat. If you know, you know. The wait was about 10 minutes. The staff us friendly, too. I ordered a double burgers, fries and a drink, which came to $16.47. I couldn't finish my food and took home half. This spot is located in the happening part of downtown Mobile. It's a great spot for a night out with friends, a quick bite, or date night. Check them out and get hammered by the cow!

We were traveling through Mobile and had already discovered that Red's Dine In in Seminary, MS would be closed so the search for a good burger ensued. We read that Callahan's was the best, but eating potato chips with an amazing burger is sacrilegious. Enter the Hammered Cow in the search. Reviews looked really good so we stopped. Let me start by saying that this is in a food hall so when you are driving down Dauphin Street and your GPS says you have arrived, do not be looking for big sign that says The Hammered Cow, be looking for signage that says The Insider on the left side of this one-way street. There was a lunch special that included a single burger, a side, and a soda. I was feeling greedy, so my husband got the lunch special and I got a double smash burger. We watched them scoop fresh ground beef from the cooler drawer below the grill. It was way too much food for me, but it did not disappoint. The bun is so soft. The smash burgers are perfect. A little crispy around the edges and the beef extends the edging of the bun. The toppings were fresh and crispy. I went with a simple mayonnaise, mustard, lettuce, tomato, and onion. One of my favorite things about this burger is that the onions were a sweet onion not super strong. I got American cheese. I know this is going to illicit some controversy, but two slices of cheese was a bit too much for me on this burger. Yes I said it, I think that one slice of cheese on a double burger is enough. The onion rings seemed to be hand battered to me. They are a flour batter, which is what we prefer. Mike got the fries. They are not hand cut in house, but are a good fry. Standard seasoned fries served fresh and hot. 2 guys are running the counter. Very nice and courteous. Service was quick considering it's all freshly cooked. It's a food hall, but the music isn't t terribly loud and you can sit at tables or the counter. Would def recommend this place for a great burger.

This is my 3rd time enjoying this burger. Build your own is fabulous. The way the patties extend from the bun is awesome. This ensures some meat will be incorporated into each juicy bite. I think this may very well have my vote for one of the best burgers in Mobile Al. Yes. If I'm missing something somewhere please let me know. Please !

Great place located at the Insider collective eatery. Great smash burgers. I got the one one patty melt style burger with onion rings and it was great. The fries were super fresh and hot, the jalapeños added the perfect kick.

If you are downtown Mobile, drop by the Insider for a food co-op! The ambience is laid back and you need to grab a hammer or moo-shroom! Both burgers we delicious! Meet was juicy, Hammered cow sauce was just right with a little kick. Service and suggestions were spot on. Great for a quick bite or a place to grab food with your friends.

I had an outstanding burger, crispy fries and the southwest egg rolls. Everything was delicious and ready in about 5 minutes. Don't miss this place. It's inside a building with a few other restaurants. Eat Hammered Cow!

One of the best smash buyers on mobile. Very good. It's located In the "insider" which if like a food court. The is a counter order place but they have tables and such in the middle. You can also order beer at the bar inside so it's a win win. Loaded queso bacon fried were awesome. Also the buyers come with a side so we got onion rings. Everything we had was amazing.
