It's a large, beautiful park with 50+ shelters to rent for private parties. There is even a huge…read moreshelter that fits over 200 people if you want to have a wedding there or something crazy. They have an indoor casino (not the gambling kind) that you can rent and plenty of outdoor space. The restrooms are pretty far apart from eachother so I would recommend scoping it all out before you book one. My only complaint about this park is that there aren't a ton of sports facilities. There is a tennis court and a basketball court. But no soccer field? Or baseball? There is so much wasted space that could be used for these activities. The very best part of the entire park is the dog park though!!

The playground is currently closed but always quite busy in the summer. They have some great features including a small zip line that I know have been mentioned many times before. My favorite is the boardwalk going through the swampy woods. Nice place to be during the summer heat as well as for observing the change of seasons. You never know what creatures you'll see. The new Splashpad and playground upgrades at the Outer Harbor are amazing! Here is my review: It…read morewas packed- which makes sense in that it was the first week of being open and 5pm. However there was still more than enough parking (2+ lots) and so many seating options with or without shade- chairs, tables, benches, pavilions, etc. The water was cold and the general temp was a few degrees colder than our house, maybe because it's near the lake. However it didn't stop the kids from playing full throttle. It would be even better during the heat of the afternoon. The Splashpad had areas for all ages and comfort levels- intense bucket dumps and little tiny sprinkle mist areas and everything in between. Perfect for any ages, and it is fully fenced off from the playground. The playground didn't change much, they added some new accessible equipment, however I'd say the ideal age for this playground is 3+. Bathrooms are unisex, clean at the moment, and have changing tables. The diversity here and people watching opportunities are endless the giant Buffalo fountain is majestic. Anyways, we will be back!

Park has seen better days, looks like a renovation of the facilities and pick up of trash is much needed. There is a nice pathway to walk, jog or roller blade. Baseball diamonds were not in use. I'd come back if I the neighborhood again. Some folks walking their dogs who live nearby. I should add: one of the Highlights to coming to this park is strolling down Hertel and enjoying a variety of eateries and unique businesses. After this visit to the park, I enjoyed a bowl of delicious ice cream from Lake Effect! Always a treat!

There was a tent for kids to make their own kites and a candy give-a-way, also for the kids. Surprised that I saw no food trucks, but they might have been at the other end of the field.

The road within the park could use a lot more than temporary tar and a shovel of stuff that does NOT stay long before the potholes return. They should do it correctly and right, when they consider the crowds that frolic and play here. There isn't even true permanent bathroom facilities here till last year sometime, when temporary facilities were installed. A lot of investment and work is needed here before the park sinks into the sunset. Park is closed after sunset so don't even think of coming here to enjoy the Milky Way or meteor showers, etc. Police will come chase you off.

When I Pond-er my existence, I come to Well-done Pond Park and the trees and bushes whisper "well…read moredone!" It's a lovely nature preserve-style park way out in the middle of nowhere, between Lancaster and Alden, below Clarence and way above Elma. If that doesn't mean anything to you, don't worry. I live right next to this park, relatively speaking. I just drive straight down Ransom from near my house, and I'm there. It's a wonderfully convenient thing for me because the park is really great. It's pretty bleak in the winter, but in the summer it's wonderful. It's also massive... much bigger than people realize. The convenience makes me want to give it a 5, and I love coming here, but compared to my fave spots in WNY, this is more like a 4 star park. It's secluded with winding trails and wildlife and lots of people walking dogs and such. I may bring Starlight and My Son here one of these days, I need to buy some kitten harnesses first. How adorable will that be. Very solid 4 stars for a lovely place to go.
