I read the Yelp reviews for Dr. Hamilton and was impressed by what they said, so I scheduled an appointment with him a couple of weeks ago, for some muscle pain in my hip. He had a drop table like my previous chiropractor (who retired at least 10 years ago), but due to my size (I'm overweight) with limited mobility, I was unable to get onto his drop table in a prone position for him to adjust me. He ended up using a strong activator which needed to be dialed down to a comfortable level to be used. Then he used a handheld massager on the painful area, which was still painful after that treatment. He set up a series of 10 appointments for me to come in for future massage treatments in the following two weeks, but after consideration later that day, I canceled the appointments, although I'm sure he felt they would be beneficial. For some reason I didn't receive copies of the paperwork I filled out and signed, as well as the invoice I paid, during my visit, so when I canceled the appointments (via text - text and phone are the only way to reach him) I requested copies of them, which he sent to me via certified mail this week. I appreciate everything he tried to do to help me, and his calm demeanor says that he is unfazed by anything, and can immediately come up with other solutions to care for his patients. Back in February I got rear-ended by a police officer. I immediately called Dr. Hamilton and he scheduled me to come into his office the next day. I continued to go to his sessions, twice a week for the next 4 months. After 2 months, I was feeling better than I was before my accident. I had also been very disciplined in doing his daily stretches that he had suggested that I do. Now, six months later, I am actually fitting into clothes that had been sitting up in my closet for years. I have literally seen my body go from "fat to fit". I have never been to a chiropractor or any doctor where I felt so much like I was "just a number" until I went to this place a few times. Their goal is to clearly have you in and out within 5 minutes. They didn't remember who I was or what my issues were and had to quickly scan my chart to be reminded each time. Felt like my rib was broken or at least bruised after my last visit so I stopped going. Found a much better place where they at least pretend to care. read more

I can't thank Dr. Bill Hamilton enough for helping my body heal and get me back in the gym and on the tennis court! First a little background - I'm in my early 40's, 5'10", 140-lbs and have consistently stayed active in sports like tennis, mt. biking, hiking, and weight training for the last 25 years. Slowly but surely these last few years I have experienced pains and minor injuries due to getting older and probably not changing my training and recovery habits to match my body growing older. I've had 2 primary chronic conditions slow me down in the past 3 years - sciatica (pain in my leg from my glute to my heel caused by a bulging disc pushing on the sciatic nerve), and tennis elbow (really bad pain starting at the top of the forearm near the elbow and extending all the way into the wrist and hand.) Both are very debilitating until healed and even the simplest of tasks seems like too much. OK, so in the past when I was a little boy I went to a chiropractor for 3 yrs for weekly treatments to address mild scoliosis of the spine. I haven't been to a chiro for over 30 yrs and although I believe treatment by them can have some benefits and while I gravitate towards a combination of eastern, western, and sports minded therapy approaches, I tend to be wary of most chiropractors because there are a few bad apples out there that want to immediately sign you up for multiple weekly sessions on some masterminded payment plan. Not so with Dr. Hamilton! Here's what you should know about his approach and the results I experienced: Dr. Hamilton is athletic himself and he has that healthy-living mindset. This is immediately evident when you meet him by the way he carries himself, his attitude, his physique, and his treatment. Dr. Hamilton tries to promote an approach that is specific to the individual. He exhibits a positive attitude that is both professional, yet easy-going, and motivational. He's serious about his work and helping people. He's not pushy at all about multiple visits. He will make a recommendation and it's up to you. He's there to help. He's flexible on insurance, check, etc. for payment. He also works part time as a personal trainer and works out himself. So he talks the talk and walks the walk! So what happened with my sciatica? I walked in limping badly and my hips were all out of whack due to walking and sitting with this pain for 3 weeks or so. I had been in to see a physical therapist at my normal medical center a month before and they didn't provide anything that helped me. Within the first treatment from Dr. Hamilton, I estimate that I had at least a 50% improvement in range of motion and balance. Within 3 treatments I saw about 75%, but still had a lot of pain. It turned out that a dual process was needed and upon the recommendation of a friend, I followed up on my initial Chiro treatment from Dr. Hamilton with Acupuncture and chinese cupping therapy (to draw fresh blood into the inflamed region and can be very practitioner dependent). Within a week of the acupuncture and cupping procedures (3 weeks overall after first chiro), I was pain free. Then a year later I developed a horrible case of tennis elbow from actually playing tennis. I strung my racquet way too tight and was also trying a new swing with too much wrist flexion. I gave my arm rest for 3 months and no improvement. Kaiser was recommending surgery!!! So I called Dr. Hamilton. I had read about a soft tissue adhesion / scar tissue elimination method being performed by some chiros called ART (Active Release Therapy). It totally made sense. Dr. Hamilton and I discussed my problem and he successfully performed ART on my arm twice a week for one month. My pain completely disappeared over that month and I was able to return to 100% performance in playing tennis and all other activities. I am so thankful! Now let me tell you one more quick thing - I need to be honest here - I've known Dr. Hamilton since 1992 when we met in college at Cal Poly. I can attest that he is one of the most ethical, no-nonsense, and positive individuals that I've ever met. After engineering school he achieved his degree in Chiropractic and I never thought I would need to receive treatment from him. However, since I knew firsthand of his athletic and health mind-set, I knew he would take care of me the right way. Mr. Hamilton is a magical man. In 30 minutes, he took me from barely able to breathe--with shooting pain in my back and chest, incapable of doing anything other than sitting upright, completely unmoving--to near full breaths, no pain, and 99 percent range of motion. (For perspective, I was certain that I was in for numerous weeks of both pain and laborious breathing). He said it would only improve as the week went on, and he was entirely correct. Dr. Hamilton changed my ideas about chiropractors. The Back Story: Years and years ago I had two incidents with other chiropractic services that were very negative and I resolved never to get help from a chiropractor again. Last year I developed some chronic complications to low back pain and sciatic nerve being pinched. My regular doctor gave me pain medication. Upon advice from a trusted friend I called Dr. Bill Hamilton and he came to my house with a portable chiropractic bench. Before he did anything he asked me lots of questions about what was going on in my body, my history of back pain, and what I had been told by my regular doctors. I also spoke to him about my previous negative experiences with chiropractors that had twice resulted my being hospitalized instead of cured. Very differently than the other chiropractors, Dr. Hamilton used low key, techniques to stretch out my painful, tightly seized muscles and adjust the place where my sciatic nerve was being pinched. At the end of the visit, I was experiencing some relief. I made an appointment with him for an office visit a couple days later and Dr. Hamilton again used what I would call proper techniques to further relieve my condition. Since I was experiencing great relief now, I made several more visits to his office where he did a low key spine adjustment, confirmed the exercises I was doing based on physical therapists and my health club trainer, and gave me several additional exercises that have been very helpful in my workout routines. Upon his suggestion I have been doing a subset of the exercises just prior to bedtime. This has helped me avoid back and sciatic nerve problems in traveling, camping, and daily routine for better than a year now. I'm third time pregnant in a row and I've been experiencing sciatica pain, on and off, sometimes more, sometimes less. Once there was an episode when I couldn't move. So since I can't go on any strong medications right now I decided to try a chiropractor, which was suggested by my OBGYN. I didn't have so much pain at the time I came to Dr.Hamilton, but I still felt some spots in my lower back. Unlike Dwayne B. (who wrote another review), I've only known Dr. Bill Hamilton for a few months having recently moved back to the area. I'm in my early 60s and have probably been to more than a dozen chiropractors over the last four decades, with varying experiences. In general, I'm sold on the benefits of chiropractic and have had my persistent leg pain, hip pain, and neck stiffness treated effectively in the past. But, Bill Hamilton is different. Not only does he provide excellent treatment; but, he also teaches you how to maintain your health in the future. I've had chiropractors tell me about exercises and give me instruction sheets; but, Bill shows, demonstrates, and does the various exercises with you. Is not just "snap, crackle, and pop" and you're out of here. He starts off with stretches, then specific exercises for your condition, then a series of adjustments. I've never had a chiropractor spend so much time and provide such comprehensive treatment. And, as an added benefit, he's a nice guy, easy-going, friendly, open -- someone who you can immediately trust. read more

Dr. Hamilton is a very talented chiropractor. With his extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology and years of experience he treats each patient with the utmost care. He takes his time analyzing the back problems. Then he gives a specific type of treatments to each area of the spine. One leaves feeling the pain relief and standing two inches taller. But that is not all. He makes sure that the back muscles are strengthen. He reviews which exercises will strengthen the weak back muscles so the over all health of the back can return to normal.
