Everything I learned from her almost 4.5 years ago has still stuck with me to this day. I even occasionally refer to her emails and notes when I need to remember something regarding food planning/nutrition. I made great progress when I started with her in 2021 to 2023, which was when I did a lot of endurance training. I dialed back on my fitness the past year and a half and didn't stay on a consistent nutrition plan, so my body comp has changed a bit since previous years. Nothing drastic, but I'm back to being consistent and motivated to make some positive changes this year. I would not have been as easily motivated without Madeleine's previous coaching!!! I found it so easy to bounce back into a consistent food routine. She instilled in me a lasting lifestyle change and a shift in perspective when it comes to fueling and eating that truly sticks over the years. It was so easy to remember her simple and realistic tips - food swaps to get more protein into each meal, being mindful of hunger cues, and healthy snack swaps. It's amazing how these simple changes can make an impact on your daily macros. In this day and age with social media advice and AI meal planning, the value of having a supportive and knowledgeable real human who can individually tailor and guide your nutrition goals accurately is so apparent. Plus, having someone there to answer your questions at any time in between your coaching sessions gives you that extra oomph of support. If you are considering using Results Food Coaching, I would stop your search here and get in touch with the team right now!!

Madeleine is extremely supportive - welcomes emails/texts and responds promptly. No question goes unanswered, and I tend to ask a lot of questions. Meal plans are simple and easy to follow. Something that stood out that I was not expecting was... during our first meeting she requested a list of various restaurants I frequent and gave me a bunch of options at each that supported my health goals. And since then she has provided this support when I'm traveling or going out to eat somewhere new (but I honestly have to ask less frequently because she has taught me what to look for). Highly recommend working with Madeleine to reach your goals!

I was 21 and had high blood sugar, technically pre-diabetic. I also had higher than normal blood pressure. I was a healthy weight, active, and had a good diet, so I was super confused about my situation. These chronic illnesses run heavily in my family so it wasn't completely shocking, but pretty shocking. I was at a loss for what to change in my diet and life. Nicole helped me holistically and coached me in how to tweak some areas of my diet and lifestyle habits. My blood sugar AIC dropped 4 points (from 5.9 down to 5.5) after just seeing her for a few appointments over the span of 3-4 months. She's amazing and took significant time to understand my health and my needs. Her holistic approach involved much more than my blood sugar, so we addressed other parts of my body's needs and the blood sugar management came a long with the rest. I highly recommend her to all my friends who are struggling with any health issues!!

I was initially referred here by my surgeon after another Bay Area facility was fully booked, so I appreciated being able to get in relatively quickly. The treatment itself felt professional and well-managed, and I left feeling positive about the care I received. One thing to note is that this clinic does not accept insurance, so everything is out of pocket, unlike some other facilities that may have insurance partnerships. I wasn't aware of that ahead of time. My main area for improvement would be pricing transparency. Over the phone, I was quoted $375 for treatment and told I would need to meet with Dr. Young beforehand, which I completely understand. However, additional costs weren't clearly explained. I opted for a 90-minute session, which ended up being more expensive, and I left owing around $850. While I acknowledge I could have asked more questions, I do wish the full pricing breakdown had been communicated more clearly upfront. Overall, it was a very positive experience in terms of care and professionalism. If cost weren't a concern, I would absolutely return. I'd just recommend future patients ask detailed questions about pricing ahead of time.

From my wife, I've…read morehad a fear of needles as long as I can remember. Every time I needed a blood test or IV I would have anxiety for at least one day before and then I would faint or black out at the time of the treatment. It was so bad on one particular appointment, that my adult daughter had refused to accompany me on future appointments that involved needles. So the burden fell to my husband. I wanted to be free from this once and for all. My husband suggested that I meet with Kara Sorensen when he heard her say that she had been successful in treating people with needle fear using acupressure techniques. She taught me in a single 1 1/2 hr. session how to use acupressure to relieve my anxiety of needles. We discussed the origin of my fear and did a number of mental and oral exercises and practiced applying pressure points. She sent me home with some homework to practice for 15-20 minutes daily. I was so excited to be anxiety free that I went to my blood test by myself the next week after meeting with her. Before the test I meditated 10 minutes using the techniques that Kara taught me and had the blood test done without incident. You should have seen the look on the faces of the staff at the diagnostics clinic. They had remembered how anxious I was on previous visits and now they were hugging me and telling me what a big difference from the previous blood tests and how proud they were of me. My daughter and husband are so relieved that I no longer faint or have a day of anxiety before I give blood or have an IV. I even went through surgery recently and didn't have to have someone stay with me as they prepared me with anesthesia. Thanks to Kara's Acupressure treatment I can honestly say that I am free of this fear and have freed my family of this burden. I recommend trying her acupressure techniques and practicing the techniques at home as she suggests so you can be free of your fears too!

This was not a normal clicking jaw irritation TMJ-this was painful, jaw splitting, ear piercing, gruesome, go-ahead-and-kill-me-now pain that woke me up in the mornings. I cannot stress to you how much the pain incapacitated me. After 3 weeks of treatment 2 days a week I was virtually pain-free. Wow. Now that's amazing. I've continued to see Kara, because I realized other things about my health were improving as well. Problems that I have had for my entire adult life and had decided to just put up with. Kara is caring, honest and down to earth. She will tell you what she can help you with and what she thinks you need to see a western physician for. One example: My digestive system has always been a little iffy. Just not happy. Kara treated me with a few very inexpensive herbs, a few dietary suggestions and weekly acupuncture. I feel better than I have in 10 years. I have been a Pepsi addict since I first drank the stuff. I would drink 5+ Pepsi's a day. Well, I know it's not good for my weight or my cholesterol. Kara introduced me to TAT. I truly didn't believe in it. However- I have had several TAT sessions and although I still drink Pepsi, I only drink one a day. Also, I have greatly decreased my sugar intake, started cooking, exercising and enjoying life again. Hmmm, could it be the TAT? Really, no one wants to admit they have any mental issues on yelp, but I'll go ahead and admit that I've had my share of difficulties. Acupuncture and TAT have helped me tremendously with that as well. Honestly, my life has done a 180 since I started seeing Kara. There aren't words to express the difference going to Kara has made on my life. I just want you to know that there's hope. For pain, for diet, for mental health. It's worth every penny. Kara Sorensen. My hero. Really.

As I've gotten older--and as I quickly approach 60 (this year!)--it's become much harder to maintain my weight and the energy I need to keep up with life and perform at the level I expect of myself at work. Between menopause and just life happening, I found myself up 40 pounds and not feeling like myself. I knew I needed more than just diet and exercise--I needed real medical support and expertise. I needed more tools in my tool belt! This team is incredible. Cassandra always greets me with a big smile and is endlessly helpful, no matter how busy it gets. Josh brings deep clinical knowledge and explains everything in a way that truly applies to what I'm going through. Matt clearly has a passion for what he does, and his expertise in how to optimize the body is next-level--you can tell he truly understands the process inside and out. I visit with the BHRT staff once a quarter I think. They always want to know how I am doing with menopause and any symptoms I may be having. I tried to "fix" myself by trying to eat healthy (I loved fatty foods, but my cholesterol was/is high so I became a vegetarian for a while to try to help lower my cholesterol) and exercise, but despite that, I was still bloated and tired all day. Ellen has a whole system worked out to determine the root cause of health issues that arise. Based on my lab work, she designed a protocol that was tailored to fit me and my health goals. Throughout the process, we had check-ins where I could update her on how I was feeling and see if anything needed to be adjusted. I've been committed to her protocols for over a year now and my health is better than ever. My bloating is gone, I have more consistent energy throughout the day, my stomach aches have all but gone away, and bonus- I've lost a bunch of weight. I'm nearly down to the weight I was in the military in my early 20s, something I was never able to achieve on my own when I got out. Ellen's recommendations are dynamic and tailored, and she considers the person as a whole. Her help has been so vital for me that I'm going to continue working with her until the foreseeable future; my labs are getting to where they need to be, but in the meantime I appreciate being able to reach out to her with questions from the patient portal, getting periodic labwork to check progress, getting access to reduced- price supplements, and having access to see if she recommends any minor adjustments to my protocol. 100% recommend!
