Dr. Brant Pedersen has been my chiropractor for 8 years. He has helped me fully recover from serious injuries in short periods of time. This review is about my most recent experience with him and his colleague, Dr. Eliot Foad. I am a rock climber and injured my left shoulder in December 2024. I saw him shortly after and recovered through the adjustment/treatment visits and rehab exercises he prescribed. However, I re-injured it in January 2026 and had been doing rehab exercises since then with little progress. I finally went back -- I live in San Francisco, so the commute is tough! -- two weeks ago, this time for pain in my lower back. It turned out I had been straining it through poor weightlifting form. He adjusted me, advised me on what to avoid while lifting, and I felt like a new person almost immediately (though the body does take a few days to fully recover). He also suggested a novel treatment called shockwave therapy for my shoulder and elbow, where I had developed tendinitis from climbing, along with a compression arm band for use when climbing or lifting. I completed the shockwave therapy on my shoulder and elbow with Dr. Foad, who is also highly knowledgeable and a genuine pleasure to talk to. A few days later, I felt as though I had a brand-new shoulder, which allowed me to start climbing two grades above my previous level, something I had avoided out of fear of further injury. My elbow is also feeling much better, and the band has been a great help. I highly recommend both Dr. Pedersen and Dr. Foad for any sports injuries or injuries in general -- you could not be in better hands! read more

I have been coming to see Dr Pedersen on and off for the last 10 years. If you are looking for a chiropractic practice I highly recommend Positive Motion. Dr Pedersen and Dr Foad are truly the best at what they do. For the last 9 months I have been battling frozen shoulder, hip bursitis and severe neck, upper back and shoulder pain accumulated over 30 years of sitting at a desk. It all caught up with me and I was really suffering. Dr Pedersen put a plan together that was tailored for me. He has an amazing understanding of the body and an approach that is modern and creative. He listens and he cares and it shows in the results. You have to do the work and follow the plan and I promise that when you do you will feel immensely better. I am finally able to move in ways I could not for a really long time. I have drastically improved my flexibility and reduced the daily pain. I am nearly there! Partnering with Positive Motion is worth your time and money. If you are in pain check them out. You won't regret it. read more

The location was easy to find and parking wasn't too much trouble. The front area was decent, not super fancy but functional and tidy. I got seen in a reasonable amount of time. The medical assistant helped with some general prep and was nice to talk to. The doctor came in and didn't waste any time getting started. We talked about some recurring issues and they asked a lot of direct but respectful questions. They gave a thoughtful opinion and described a few different options for moving forward, without being pushy. There was some back and forth and they actually took the time to write a few notes for me so I wouldn't forget. I thought that was considerate. The office seemed well managed and organized and they gave me a summary at the end which was useful. Nothing felt rushed or overly complicated. It was the kind of place you could probably trust for regular visits. read more

Dear Dr. Brant Pederson and Dr. Elliott Foad, Just a note to say thank you for changing the trajectory of my structural health. I was initially nervous about making the trip all the way from Dallas, Texas--but I'm so glad I did. My expectations were exceeded by your thorough attention to my concerns around kyphosis, age, and long-term mobility. Your combined knowledge, thoughtful recommendations, and hands-on expertise truly impressed me. You both took the time to educate me, not just treat me, and that made all the difference. To anyone searching for top-tier chiropractors, look no further. Drs. Pederson and Foad are the real deal when it comes to spinal health and overall wellness. Also, shout-out to Mr. Bones, the skeleton silently observing from the corner of the office. He may look bored, but I suspect he's just quietly soaking it all in (and frankly, he's got a good posture to aspire to). In closing, I could go on--but I won't. Thank you again for helping me feel empowered and optimistic about my path to better health. Highest Regards, A.T. Dallas, TX read more

I found Dr. Pedersen on YouTube and highly recommend checking out his video content, no matter where in the world you live. Especially the video on sitting. I'm fortunate enough to be in their neighborhood and was able to seek treatment in person too. Dr. Pedersen has a unique combination of extreme talent, clinical ability and bedside manner and he authentically connects with his patients while delivering results. Their practice invests in keeping current with cutting edge technology, and they delivered measurable results and pain relief for me (hip misalignment and plantar fasciitis) with in a 8 week period. If you have not yet tried Shockwave technology, I found it to be a game changer in helping expedite the body's healing ability - they offer it at Positive Motion. Thank you Dr. Pedersen, Dr. Foad, Nick and team! read more

Brant Pedersen is a great human being besides being a hero to his patients. He is positive, patient, curious and serious about healing. He never stops embracing new techniques. He was referred to me from a doctor's wife whose family required his services for years. He's THE BEST! M. Hart read more

Hello, just wanted to say that Dr Peterson has helped me back to my normal routine of life with basic adjustments as I was in pain in my hips! He takes the time to get to know you by listening and asking questions. He covers all avenues of your health beyond chiropractic treatment. I really appreciated that as I felt confident with his care. It's been several months now, as he said with exercise and a special belt worn to help strengthen the area around my hips. I know I have to do my part, but he helped me along. He is quite knowledgeable of the anatomy with problems that accur. He will also do the research if necessary. He also said that he would not go beyond treatment and send me in for an xray/ MRI if necessary. thanks, Dr Pederson read more

Dr. Peterson, I watched your YouTube video on sacroiliac treatment and diagnosis. I thought it was very informative. I have been a chiropractor using the Gonstead method of chiropractic adjustments of the sacroiliac area for 57 years, and I have found that a Proper Gonstead, x-ray analysis and adjustment helps a significant amount of patients with sacroiliac pain. I am a retired chiropractor who still practices a few hours a week in Fort Myers Florida. read more

I would absolutely recommend Dr. Brent Pedersen (Positive Motion). After 40 years of running, I suddenly developed terrific hip and back pain. Dr. Pedersen came highly recommended, and my experience shows those recommendations were justified. His knowledge and skill set is impressive. A targeted team approach was outlined for me, and after just 5 visits for Chiropractic adjustments, along with daily home exercises suggested, my pain was alleviated and flexibility returned!! What impressed me more about Dr. Pedersen was his professional courtesy, attentiveness to my concerns and always positive outlook. I'm continuing the home exercises and getting stronger each day. Ever Grateful to Dr. Pedersen and his staff! Thank you, Carmel read more

When any professional makes misleading or inaccurate statements, especially those regarding education, training, certification, experience and/or treatment it should be of concern. Immediate concern raised from the website statement, "CCSP...This recognized specialization in chiropractic, similar to an MD specializing in orthopedics or pediatrics..." Really, by whom? Below is a comparison of the requirements. CCSP - is 100hrs most often webinars and on-line, some in the classroom...MISSING real life training of the peers, the shadowing and patient care in clinical and hospital settings. Pediatrician requires: 4 yr. college degree + 4 yr. medical school degree + 3 yr. pediatric residency. Some pediatricians spend another two to six years training in a subspecialty. Orthopedic requirements: 4 yr. college degree + 4 yr. medical school degree + 5 yr. Orthopedic residency with 1-2 yrs optional yrs for Fellowship in a Specialized area. Consider your condition and select the most qualified professional to help as it is your body, your life. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Pedersen, not only he is a masterful doctor of chiropractic, but also he is genuinely caring. Dr. Pedersen is a man of integrity, and intelligence. His office is authentically friendly, and professional at the same time. I first learned about Dr. Pedersen in 2018 from my trusted doctor of Chinese Medicine , Dr. Adam Atman. Since 2018, Dr, Pedersen has been helping me with different issues, and has always been very supportive and positive. In describing Dr Pedersen, Dr. Adam told me that he (Dr. Pedersen) puts his hand on you and knows exactly what to do! Indeed Dr. Pedersen intuitiveness, experience, intelligence, wit, and masterful skill set, combined with his high level of integrity, care and approachability makes him a fantastic doctor/healer. I watched your video about neck pain, on YouTube. I'm a retired nurse and was a practicing nurse for 18 years. I found your video to be very informative and everything about the physics of our body along with our bad habits makes perfect sense to me. I wasn't surprised to see Jackie S, below, comment; they're always has to be the Devil's advocate. So I wonder what her education is to evaluate you? She doesn't have to make snide opposing arguments on her lack of knowledge for chiropractic care, if she doesn't like it, she needs to just go on with her business. I will definitely be doing these exercises , and I also will follow back up with you to let you know how they have worked for me. In 2004 I was in a horrific car accident where I was T-boned, and my head took out the window... there's a lot to the story, but to keep it short, since that accident I've had scapula and neck pain on the left side. tried steroid shots to the neck for two years, decided that could cause more scar tissue, did not want to be a forever recipient of steroid shots. May you have a blessed day, go forward and heal the community! read more

I've been going to Dr. Pedersen for years and he never fails to make me feel better. I can't tell you the number of times I've showed up to his office in what felt like a crisis only to leave in better shape and spirits than when I walked in. His knowledge, expertise, and genuine care for his patients is truly unmatched and on top of that I'm always greeted with a warm welcome. I feel very safe in his care and I know you will too. Also, I can't leave a review of this office without mentioning his fabulous receptionist Maggie who genuinely embodies the message of "Positive Motion" in every way, making each person who walks through that door feel like they are in the right place at the right time. Can't recommend this office enough, quite frankly! read more

chiropractor of caliber. Background: My name is Michael Joseph, in and for itself means little. I have suffered for 50 years with a back problem, ending with a laminectomy and fusion of several discs. I have visited several doctors, endured acupuncture ,and seen more specialists than carter has pills. I have experienced been taken to several hospitals in such pain that warranted a dose of 200mg of Demerol to ease the pain. About three years ago I, quite literally, stumbled upon a chiropractor by the name of Dr.Brant Pederson@positivemotionhealth.com in Los Gatos. Dr. Pedersen is responsible for easing and substantially reducing my pain and is singlehandedly responsible for keeping me from hospitals visits. He has integrity, honest, and knowledgeable in chiropractic forensics and applications. Do yourself a favor. If you are suffering from back pain.....go see this Dr. I recommend him wholeheartedly. read more

Dr. Vanessa Nordin gets it... She cares about your body, and is knowledgable about the mechanics. We often geek out about how the body is nothing but a series of pulleys and levers. She also has a bunch of tricks up her sleeve - there's more than one way to crack your back (or neck!). The Mrs. and I both go and come out feel refreshed. We also go to Mint Condition, where she and our trainers meet up and talk about us... ensuring that her treatments and our work outs are in sync. We feel really cared for and healthier than we've ever been. read more

I hurt back back from running long miles, it was so devastating because I couldn't any of my exercise. My sister recommended to see Dr. Pedersen. (My sister hurt her back too, she was literally carried by her husband to this practice, and she was able to walk out on her own after the 1st visit). Long story short I did go see dr. Pedersen. My back felt better just after two visits. He is really knowledgeable, he taught me techniques to have a better form when I stand or when I run. I have been waking up every morning just feeling great, thank you! read more

Dr Pedersen has helped immensely. I had the worst case of plantar fasciitis and sciatic. I had it for years and tried all the recommended fixes, I thought I was never gonna get better. After a few months I started feeling a lot better, more of an improvement than I ever expected. thanks so much! I came to Dr. Pedersen with quite a few issues (immobile neck, torn calf, crunchy shoulder, locked forearms, elbow tendinitis, bad knee). He tackled each systematically and alleviated so much pain instantly. There were a couple injuries that needed more attention and time. I had ACL reconstruction in 2005 and ever since, I've learned to live with random pain or limitations as an outcome of surgery and bad post-op therapy. Lately, the pain and limitations have been so bad that I was convinced this was just going to be my life from here on. Dr. Pedersen was dead set on figuring it out. For the first time in YEARS my knee doesn't hurt and I'm moving pain free. I've been to so many doctors and therapists. I've never seen the commitment to disproving that living with pain is part of life/aging. read more

Long review here because Dr. Pedersen deserves it and I can't recommend him enough. I came to Dr. Pedersen after trying a few different chiropractors to address an L4-L5 injury causing impingement on my S1 nerve root. I experienced the injury in 2017 deadlifting, and over the course of five years it got progressively worse as I continued to train, compete, and untimely make the S1 nerve increasingly irritated because I didn't have the knowledge to fix it. After weeks of 10/10 pain that had me depressed and not able to participate in my sport, I emailed a spine surgeon ready to do a microdiscectomy (at the least). Fortunately, during that same week, I was referred to Dr. Pedersen. I knew I was in good hands after 10 minutes with him. He started off by actually listening to me to learn how I got there, wanted the full story and invested time in learned about my sport, then transitioned into teaching me. I learned more about my spine and what's going on with it in that first session than I had in years. He found an SI Joint issue, made suggestions, gave me honest advice, and we talked game plan. I felt hope again for the first time and gladly sent the spine surgeon an email that night saying, "let's put surgery on hold." In my next session with Dr. Pedersen he presented me with a treatment plan that was spot on with my individual goals, and I did the Gratson method for the first time which ended in literal immediate pain relief. I have several more sessions with him, I'm doing everything he's recommended, and my pain at this moment that I type is a 1/10. Thank you Dr. Pedersen for your expertise, kindness, and willingness to help me succeed. The body can heal itself if given the right environment and Dr. Pedersen certainly provides that opportunity. read more

I can say with utmost confidence that Dr. Brant Pedersen is the most talented and versatile physician in Northern California. Why? Because Dr. Pedersen knows more about the human body at his age than most physicians do at their retirement. It is clear from the start of your appointment that his knowledge of physiology and anatomy translates into resolution, and education of your concern. I had numerous complaints as I'm very active and he was able to break them down and show me what happened and what steps were necessary to fix them; talk about the whole package! The bottom line is Doc Pedersen was able to help me without drugs or surgery. His "adjustments" were very gentle and the way he got me excited and apart of my healthcare set him apart from any other doctor I've seen. read more

I found Darla Booth DC through a very close friend who has been seeing her for years. My daughter has a very difficult case of post concussion syndrome with neck and back injury. My daughters condition has brought us to may different chiropractors; Dr. Darla has our complete confidence. On one visit for cold laser, Dr. Brant Pederson cared for her and went above and beyond our expectations. We are so thankful that there are caring professionals who listen and care. I was referred to Dr. Pedersen by a friend who could not say enough good things about him. When I called for an appointment, Dr. Pedersen was out of the office for a few weeks, so I saw Dr. Bethanne Baretich instead. She was wonderful, very kind and patient--and gentle. When, after a number of sessions, I had no improvement, she referred me to Dr. Pedersen who was by now back in the office. Dr. Pedersen was extremely thorough and willing to listen. He tried a variety of techniques with me and was also very kind and gentle--which was a good thing since I was in a lot of pain. Then I had xrays and an MRI done, so he had the benefit of being able to evaluate the facts. He explained my condition in great detail and decoded the MRI report for me. After analyzing the report, he concluded that chiropractic care would not help me, and that I would likely need surgery. He then forwarded the report to two of his former colleagues who just happened to be spinal surgeons. Their analysis confirmed Dr. Pedersen's opinion, which was also confirmed by another surgeon that I had consulted. I have not had the surgery yet, but hope to have it in the near future. I would recommend Dr. Pedersen to anyone who wants a thoroughly professional, personable, and dedicated chiropractor who is proficient in matters of the spine. I would go back to him in a heartbeat if I develop any other issues with my back. read more

Having moved to the U.S. over 16 years ago and having some serious back problems since early childhood, I lost hope finding a doctor who would help me make my life at least a little bit less painful (comfortable -- was an unreachable dream). For 5 years, I was able to take care of my back problems only when traveling to Europe. Unfortunately, chiropractors here are often surrounded by stigma and are not taken seriously or seen merely as a bandaid solution, or at best a temprorary relief. And in most cases, there are some serious reasons for that. Dr. Pedersen, however, is a very rare exception! I was ecstatic when 10+ years ago, I was introduced to Dr. Pedersen. Over the last 10 years, I cannot even remember all the instances Dr. Pedersen got me back on my feet literally and figuratively! He not only helped me maintain my back but also healed my knees when multiple doctors were advising surgery but could not promise any success at all. Dr. Pedersen is now treating and keeping healthy my family and friends. I highly recommend Dr . Pedersen to all my friends and co-workers because he is not only a talented, highly-skilled chiropractor but also a very caring individual who is truly concerned for his patients. In this day and age, it is nearly impossible to find a good doctor who would see a patient on a weekend and will make an effort to find time in his busy schedule on a very short notice. Also, it is very important to mention that Dr. Pedersen is not only teaching but also always learning new techniques and methods. He is constantly learning about new ways to help his patients -- to me it is a huge plus. My reasons for being Dr. Pedersen patient for 10+ years (and for many more ahead): 1. Dr. Pedersen is a highly skilled professional who is closely following new developments in his field. 2. He keeps a very organized office. Dr. Pedersen keeps very detailed notes from every visit. It helps to see any tendencies or spot new issues. 3. Dr. Pedersen is a genuine and caring person who truly cares! If you have issues with your back, recovering from injuries, or have questions about correct postures and need help maintaining your back healthy, give his office a call, you will not regret -- I did not, I am only grateful! read more

I am so grateful that I found Positive Motion Chiropractic. Dr. Nordin has helped me so much. Three years ago I injured my back. The sitting class at Postive Motion made a HUGE impact right away. If I could, I would use a bullhorn and tell everyone they MUST take that class. I still had numbness in my leg and nerve issues in my arm despite - I did the cold laser therapy and WOW, I can feel my leg and haven't had numbness in my arm. It does require a series and not all cold laser is equal -- theirs is amazing. I definitely recommend Postive Motion Chiropractic and Dr. Nordin. Thank you so much Dr. Vanessa -- my life is finally getting back to normal after three years of being injured. read more

Scam! I booked an appointment for a new patient intake and was looking forward to good chiropractic care. I couldn't agree more with the last review. Positive Motion is so much more than a chiropractic practice. Dr. Vanessa Nordin has guided me in relearning to move in a more efficient way not only for my back but my whole body. I no longer think about pushing my shoulders back to sit up straight. I now do it naturally without any pain or discomfort. I have only been working with Vanessa for a couple months but I've seen and felt a world of difference. Migraine Free !!!! This review is long overdue. I have been going to Dr Pederson for about 2 years. He was recommended by a nurse colleague who raved about his work. I have suffered from debilitating back pain for 10 years. When I am in spasm, he is literally the only doc who can adjust my back. I know that in 3-4 visits, I will be back to normal. I count on him so much that I am afraid to move out of the area. He is the absolute best chiropractor out of the dozens and dozens I have encountered since my fall in 2010. Recently, I had some dental issues that (unbeknownst to me) were the cause of a migraine that would not break. I suffered for 14 days straight. During this time, I reached out to a pain management doctor and my neurologist. Both failed to return my call and my PCP was out of town. I called Dr Pederson's office towards the end of a work day and he was already booked. After triaging my call, he agreed to stay after hours to treat me. Not only did he stay late, he helped me figure out the source of my pain. I thought it was my neck (or worse) but it was actually my TMJ. He adjusted my neck and spine and then spent extra time providing myofascial release to the affected tempro-mandibular areas. Within hours, the agonizing migraine and eye pain were gone .... and are still gone almost 1 week later. I was prepared to go the ED for an MRI. He saved me time and money, but most importantly, he showed compassion and went the extra mile to get me out of pain. Dr Pederson's skills are truly amazing and his bedside manner is epic. read more

I had seen 3 different Chiropractors before I found Dr. Pedersen. After a few visits with Dr. Pedersen, I realized what a difference there was between him and the other Chiroprator's I had seen. There are so many offices where you go in and you feel like it's a "factory", time is an issue, and you're only kind of a number. This is not the case with Dr. Pedersen. The initial evaluation appointment was so thurough, I was shocked at how much time he spent with me going over things. You never feel rushed or that he doesn't have enough time to address all of your problems during an appointment. He truly cares and listens to his patients. He's extremely knowledgable and has a true passion for his work and it shows by how he treats his patients. I work as a Massage Therapist, and being on my feet all day can be very taxing on the entire body. He was the first of 4 Chiropractors to address other "aches and pains" outside of the spine. He's helped me with my wrist pain, hip-flexor issues, and was also the first one to recommend getting custom orthotics for my shoes(which have helped greatly with having to be on my feet all day). I recommend Dr. Pedersen with very high regard and feel confident in sending any of my friends or family to him, knowing they are in the best care. read more

Went and saw Dr. Baretich for the first time last Saturday and had a wonderful experience. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, warm, and friendly. She has a wonderful bedside manner, I felt very supported and cared for in the way she explained what we were doing and made sure I was comfortable before moving forward and was sensitive not to over adjust me. The office is very clean and beautiful, I appreciated the zen like decor. They offer so much more than just adjustments, a cold laser, graston therapy, applied kineseology, cranial sacral and more. Dr. Baritech was not pushing weekly appointments on me like some chiropractors I have been to. She recommended I come back in 4-6 weeks, which feels in line with what I feel would be beneficial for me. I got the impression that they have a very ethical/moral practice in only offering and suggesting treatments that are needed for overall well being and achieving ones health goals, and not charging extra for many of the extras they offer. I was very impressed by the time she took with me to go over my intake form and make sure to address old injuries (which most people don't realize are usually the causes of chronic pain). Overall it was a wonderful experience, and my shoulder tension hasn't returned since my adjustment. Positive Motion and Dr. Baretich are very qualified and I highly recommend them. As a massage therapist and natural health practitioner I do not recommend lightly, and am very picky about the professional health care I personally see. Not only am I now returning to regular chiropractic care and upkeep with Dr. Baretich, but I will be sending my clients to her also. read more
