Amazing chicken shawarma, the best I have ever had. I also tried the baba ganouj and the falafel, all excellent. The pitas were fresh. Factoring in the low price, Hamido is hard to beat. Some of the reviewers complain about the quality of the service and the ambience: well, if you are fussy about service and ambience, you have to pay for it. There are plenty of expensive options with great ambience and mediocre food elsewhere. read more

If I could give this place no star I would . I have never ever received a correct carry out order. The "manager" Amen is a snobby twit who I'm certain does not understand English or Arabic for that. Today I swore I would never again order from there. I ordered and payed for 5 sandwiches, hummus tabooli and fries...received 4 sandwiches hummus and salad. When I called over there I was on the hold going back-and-forth with the lady that answered the phone and I can hear her telling Amen to come talk to me and he would just say just tell her to come pick up whatever was missing....no why not deliver what is missing ? She said we took the wrong order ...no you gave us the wrong order but charged us for the right one ? The sandwiches were falling apart, had to re-wrap them and the salad had zero dressing ...no joke it had no dressing. This review is for the Dearborn Heights location. They sent the remainder of the order one hour and 7 minuets later...unbelievable. read more

This is a good place for shawarma and a staple of Dearborn/ Dearborn Heights. The only reason, I gave them a low review is because of there service. It's SO slow. It's easier to order take out and double the time of what they say. Their baba and hommus are really good! read more

Best chicken swarmas around! My husband and I love their food and the people are great!

I have come here for more than 5 years i have not had one complain there service is awesome and there food is the best middle eastern food ever the manager is so nice to and he cares about everyone and treats u like a family the waitress's are really nice too i recommend this allot read more

Giving this a little better review, the food is good nice flavor, restaurant is still small, but stays busy most days, lots of take outs. The shish tawook is fantastic. Meat is tender and tasty. Falafel is tasty too, not overly fried like some places, but this can be hit and miss sometimes. Salads are tasty too. Very large so over estimate and order a smaller version. It will still be enough. I found this to be true with most serving sizes. We had a party of four and ordered for 3 and we all had plenty left over for take home. Average is usually $10 per head no matter what is ordered. Place can be cramped usually families eat here so expect some kids little noisy at times. Lunches and dinners are packed so plan accordingly. Better for take out for these times so call ahead usually about 1/2 hr. before pick up due to volume. Orders are usually correct but check, anyway before leaving. read more

Ordered at 4:00 they told me 30 min got their at 4:30 and didn't get my food till 5:00.

My family member ordered food the other day, I get there to pick it up, and the order was put under two different names. So I call my family to get the right order, and it seems like their was a misunderstanding, as I'm talking to my siblings the "manager" Fay, was talking to me I had like 3 people talking to me at once which was confusing so I asked her to wait until I get the order from my siblings, so Fay decided to huff and puff about it, and started having an attitude, as a manager she should of been a bit patient instead of having an nasty attitude and arguing with me. The food was good, the service there is just horrible. Usually there is a male that works there who is a very nice guy. Every time I go there he's there this time I was stuck with Fay. They really need to hire better people. read more

~Review for Ford Rd location~ Looking at the red plastic booths and limited decor . . . this is not a place claiming to impress based on ambience. The food, however, leaves me drooling. 1) roasted chicken - I thought this was a stable recipe produced by many with little variation. My taste buds were delighted that I was so wrong. Both the red and white meat are moist and flavorful without being overwhelming. The best part is that they roast with a piece of bread over the chicken. What that means is bonus crispy and juicy goodness without the guilt. 2) shawarma - a good combination of the crusty meat exposed to the heat on the rotating spit and the slowly marinated and juicy pieces freshly carved for my enjoyment. 3) baba ghanoush - my personal preference is a subtle smoky flavor with a smooth texture and they consistently deliver here. 4) tabbouleh - the disclaimer here is that my husband's aunt makes the best tabbouleh in the world. However, when she is busy, Hamido comes in a close second. Not too tart or soggy and always fresh. Haven't ventured to the Hamido's on Warren Ave. Don't really need to when this one is just down the street! read more

The special plates feed my family for days! Great price for generous portions. Love the shawarma meats always delicious!

Girls That work the counter are not very friendly . Ordered a hummus to go and they couldn't find the paprika to sprinkle on top so she just bagged it and gave me the order I asked That it be put on and she immediately got an attitude. While waiting for my carry out I could hear them talking about customers that left with there carry outs. the rude service happened the past 3 times I have been there no more chances Back to Al Sultan for my hummus and carry out needs read more

Ive ordered from here a few times and the last time was very disappointing. I ordered 3 meat shawarma's and 2 chicken.. had asked for them to be with no onions and for the chicken ones to have no garlic. Was told the order would take 20 mins so after 30 mins I went to pick up my food only to wait another 15 mins. I get home and the meat shawarma's have onions and the chicken have garlic. Never again will I be going there. read more

I honestly don't like to write negative/bad reviews but I can't let this one go.... ordered the mix platter for 2, plus hummus and tabboleh salad... I was shocked that the mix platter (inclusive of kafta, meat chunks, shush tawooq, meat and chicken shawerma, rice) was a big mess of a plate with items all mixed AND on top of each other... they compensated the look of the food on a small plate that that I would be shy to feed my dog.. they have bigger platters to put things neatly. Anyway, I mentioned it all to the waitress and I asked her to go deliver my message to the "chef" and to tell him that I lost my appetite FIR REAL... they did NOT GIVE A F****. I always consider Hamido, but NO MORE. As they say, "the eyes eat before the mouth".. ate the salad and hummus, paid and left the mixed platter... when restaurants are new, they have amazing service and food (usually).. but once things go well for them, quality comes down.. and some Resturant's capitalize on people not saying anything.. HAMIDO GIVES ARABIC FOOD A BAD NANE.. I would rather starve over going there.. management should have handled my issue and remarks in a better and more professional way. Bye bye hamido for good. I wish I could show you the best platter's picture I took. U AM PISSED AND WOULD NEVER WRITE A LENGTH REVIEW IF I WASN'T. read more

Hamido Restaurant - Bad presentation makes wanna p*** - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Dearborn Heights, Michigan

I'm a frequent customer at Hamidos Dearborn Heights. I usually get their falafel sandwiches with extra tahini and meat shawarma. I tried their chicken galaba with rice before and it was amazing. Hamidos by far has he best humus as well. Try this place out. Trust me it's worth it. read more
