We had a really disappointing experience here and definitely won't be back. They didn't listen to my order, and it's a good thing I double-checked the receipt because it was entered incorrectly. We ended up having to get our money back. The food was just as disappointing. The burgers were literally dripping with grease, the buns and toppings were soggy, and nothing tasted fresh. It isn't out to dominate the drive thru burger world. What it is, is a spot that has crazy cheap prices and that will hook you up with what you need whether it be a chili dog or a half dozen burgers in a paper bag. Expect to spend next to nothing. I was visiting in the Denver area when I got a craving for some fast food I remembered from my youth. I used to LOVE the chili dogs at Der Wienerschnitzel. Since there are no Der Wienerschnitzel outlets near my home in Texas, I'd not enjoyed one in decades. I did an online search while in my rented car and was very pleased to discover that there was a Der Wienerschnitzel only about 7 miles from where I was. I made a bee-line to 3100 S. Broadway in Englewood where I discovered a fast food place called "The Hamburger Stand." It wasn't EXACTLY a Der Wienerschitzel but it apparently used to be. It's architecture certainly looked like an old Der Wienerschitzel but the colors were all wrong. As I looked the place over I clearly saw the Der Wienerschnitzel logo emblazoned on the building. I ordered two chili dogs (rather then the six I often ordered as a "snack" when I was young and skeletal). The chili dogs were atrocious! The insides of the frankfurters were still cold! There was nothing appealing about these hot dogs. After eating half of one chili dog, I wondered what to do with the remaining, as yet untouched, chili dog. There was a homeless guy loitering nearby so I offered him my second, still pristine but borderline inedible chili dog. He accepted the chili dog but said he also wanted $10. At first I thought he'd tried to eat one of these chili dog abortions before and that $10 was his customary fee for disposing of one. Unfortunately, I did not have any change and he could not break a $100 bill so he had to settle for just the chili dog. I'm not sure if he ate it. I don't know exactly what is going on at the Hamburger Stand apart from the possible disparagement of the Der Wienerschnitzel trade name. I think Der Wienerschnitzel would be wise to dispatch their franchise quality control investigators or else their trademark lawyers to this little joint at 3100 South Broadway in Englewood, Colorado before it's too late. read more

Meh. It's a hamburger stand (literally), what more can you expect? Came here with a friend for a quick bite since it was within walking distance to her studio. She got one of the new pulled pork barbecue sandwiches they have. In her words, she was "underwhelmed" and "disappointed." Her main complaint was that it lacked any actual barbecue sauce. Go figure, lol. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. It looked so delicious on the menu, and actually looked really pretty when I got it, but they definitely should've toasted the sandwich. It was very soggy, and that kind of ruined the sandwich for me. That, and the fact that they don't sell it in a combo, therefore leaving you with no choice but to order each item individually. I used to live just a few blocks away from this hamburger stand and I miss it, so when I happen to find myself on this end of town I have a hard time passing it up. It's grungy, it's probably not very sanitary, and with few exceptions the staff is completely checked out. That said, it's some great junk food. The poppers are excellent (as long as the cheese hasn't fallen out of them!) and the hamburgers and hot dogs are exactly what you'd expect. I love me a kraut or mustard dog! The chili is surprisingly solid. Just skip the garbage fries and sub-par ice cream and you're pretty much good to go! read more

I'm thinking it's gotta be extra good. WRONG. Everybody looks and moves like they're lost inside that kitchen. The chili cheese dog they gave me was made with an American cheese slice, the hot dog wasn't even cooked right. The fries were soggy from how long I had to wait for a shake. The shake tasted like shit. These mf's better not be the ones protesting for 15 an hour. The Hamburger Stand on 12th and Federal is definitely worth the drive. Alrighty.. I know this isn't the healthiest of places... But when you are craving a inexpensive burger, corn dog, and some fries, why not here?! Our family took advantage of the 5 combo deal (any combo of 5: hamburgers or corn dogs)... So we got 2 burgers & 3 corn dogs. A small order of fries, and for me a chili cheese fries (I'm trying to be gluten-free, and avoid other things like corn based products, but I have no idea if the chili cheese fries are truly gluten-free) But let me tell you... The chili cheese fries were amazing! Melt in your mouth goodness, like heaven in each bite! The kiddos ate their corn dogs & shared fries with a quickness and shared half a burger. My hubby ate a corn dog and burger and his share of the fries. My family was happy & satisfied with the amount of food and the way it tasted. I probably could have gotten another order of chili cheese fries (I'm expecting so I got another bun in the oven to feed)... But it's probably good I didn't because I wasn't overly full and this will give me another reason for us to stop by again. It's a convenient place where you can either go through the drive through (there's a whole lot of people going through since it was lunch time) and there is also the convenience of waking up on the other side to order and eat outside (enjoy the sunshine) on the tables which are relatively clean. Super friendly people taking your order and hubby commented that you could see them cook your order right there. Location has hours listed for 10pm for walk up orders(if COVID has changed this it has been a year it is time to change the hours listed in your physical door.)and I got there at 8:55 with over an hour to spare and they were allowing drive through orders but not walk up orders. They also had signage listed on their door for how many people could be inside at a time and that a face mask was required so there is no way they do not allow people to walk in and order. read more

I have previously wrote a review complaining about the same thing, food that does not seem like it has been warmed up. I live minutes up the road. This is the second time I have came home and opened my food, And discovered it doesn't seem to have been heated up. No sign of warmth. The hotdog almost cold? This is extremely dissatisfying and appears to be an ongoing problem. The business has replied to my previous review before offering an apology, but I wonder how many apologies can be offered for food they are simply not warming up. The hotdog product at that. Worst service ever. I waited at the intercom for 10 minutes while 2 employees sat outside smoking cigarettes. Finally some rude lady says over the intercom "what do you want?"... ok maybe she's having a bad day. I place my order, pull up to the window. The lady didn't say a word just grabbed my money. . Didn't give me change. I saw in them in window making my food and the place was filthy. No one was using gloves or following any sanitary rules. McDonald's burgers look gourmet next to these. It does not get much lower that this in terms of quality. It does not have a indoor dinning area, the few table outside are exposed to the hot/cold, a loud noise level being so close to Broadway and questionable air quality thanks to the car fumes of the busy street. Maybe you are in the mood for garbage food while driving and want to try this place out of curiosity.
